There once was a little girl, her name was Mary Cross. She is seven years old and she has lived in the church for five years since she got abandoned at the age of two. But she had a strange dream, a mysterious man with wings took her heart and memories when she was two. Ever since then she couldn't smile or show any emotions.
(Saint's church)
I ran through the silent halls as fast as I could.
"I'm late, teacher is going to scold me!"
I finally arrived and took a deep breath, as I opened the door all eyes were on me.
"Sorry I'm late Sir, I over slept."
That's alright Mary, you didn't miss much, but try not to oversleep again."
"Yes Sir."
I sat down right next to my best friend Sarah, I took down the notes that were written on the board until the bell rang. I ran straight out the door and past the Fountain of Youth to the church room where many students stood around the door. I jumped up and down to see, but I tripped and fell. Sarah had caught up to me, she helped me up.
"Your always like this, always acting before thinking."
"But I always love to see Sister Wilma sing with the choir, she has such a beautiful voice."
"Yes, but if you keep running around like that you'll end up getting hurt."
"I understand, I'll try to be more careful okay?"
"Come on lets head to the village, Mother wants me to buy some ingrediants for dinner tonight."
We headed to the village, we couldn't go anywhere without someone asking us.
"Excuse me, but will Mother Theresa be visiting the Village soon?"
or,
"Can you give these to Mother Theresa, I'd be very greatful."
First, let me introduce you to Mother Theresa. Mother Theresa is a very kind and beautiful women, her name is not actually Theresa though, the villagers started calling her that ever since the last incident when someone was very ill. She is the church's owner's wife. Well since we were from the church we couldn't say no and break other people's hearts so we said yes. It was getting dark, so Sarah and I started to head back to church.
"Hey Sarah, what does it feel like to smile?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, how do you smile? I've never seemed to smiled before..."
"Well I can't seem to explain it, but why don't we think about this tomorrow, we have exams remember?"
"Alright."
(Girl's Dorm)
As Sarah sighed peacefully in her dreams, I sat out on the porch staring contently at the glowing moon.
"What am I going to do? I can't sleep, there must be something wrong with me. I don't have any feelings and I can't smile, I wish someone could help me find myself."
I said loudly to the shining stars shimmering above me. Suddenly a gush of wind blew causing my hair to go in all directions, when my hair got out of my face, there stood a handsome boy staring at me then I blacked out. Before I knew it, this was when my life would change forever.
The next morning when I woke up, I was sleeping in my bed. Was that a dream, but it was all too real I got up and started to get changed into my church uniform when I suddenly noticed a deep-colored cross on my chest. It was awfully strange, it was never there before but I decided to ignore it and hurry to class before the bell rings.
(Homeroom)
I sat right down next to Sarah.
"Hey Sarah, what are the plans for today?"
"Well first, mother wants us to visit Brother William to make sure he's okay."
"Oh Brother William, I haven't seen him in like forever!"
After school Sarah and I headed over to the church's main hospital to see Brother William. First let me introduce you to Brother William, he is Sarah's older brother, but he is very ill ever since he was born. Sarah's mother usually visits him herself but I guess she's a little busy. So as Sarah and I walked towards the hospital I felt a cold chill down my spine, and the cross mark on my chest started to hurt. Then a voice spoke in my mind.
"Be careful..."
I didn't understand, as Sarah and I reached the hospital a scream filled the air, Sarah and I burst through the door to find dead bodies laying all over the ground. There was a trail of blood leading to a room, brother William's room!! I peeked inside to find Brother William...dead on the floor, and there stood a man with wings! Sarah fainted at the sight, but I stared with no emotions on my face. The demon looked at me with a hungry face, I back up towards the door I tried to open it but it seemed to be locked! What am I going to do?? The demon touched my shoulder and said.
"You'll make a wonderful dessert!"
I closed my eyes preparing to be eaten. But suddenly I heard a grunt and a thud, I turned around and saw the boy from my dream.
"You demon are in violation of the Shadow Code for killing innocent humans without reason. So I banish you from this world."
After that demon disappeared the boy looked at me intently as if digging inside me searching my heart and soul.
"Though you have no soul."
I twitched,
"What do you mean?"
He unbuttoned my top, I didn't feel shy, though I wanted to. His cold fingertips touched my chest, he pointed at the cross.
"Do you understand the meaning of this mark?"
I shook my head, filled with curiosity, but I was too afraid to ask. He put his cold lips on the mark, his hair tickled my chest as his warm breathe gently
"It is the mark of death, due to the loss of your heart and memories you are forced to die if you cannot collect the pieces."
I couldn't make out what was going on but, all I knew was this boy knew something that I didn't.
As I blacked out, I worried about Mary, what would happen to her when I blacked out? But seeing my brother's body laying lifeless on the floor it reminded me of my horrid past that I wished so much to forget. I can remember it like it was yesterday.
My family and I lived a happy and peaceful life in the village, I was so happy and content with my life, until....they came and destroyed everything I cared about. My family, my village, and my heart.
My brother and I were playing around in the meadows, until we heard the screams from the village. We ran and ran as fast as possible towards the village and we saw flying demons!! The sky was black and the fire spread among the long grass, we ran to our house screaming, crying. Then we stopped in our tracks to a horrifying sight, father...dead....mother...in the clutches of demons.
(5 Years Later)
I don't remember how that day ended but I do know, that I will always hate those despicable demons for as long as I live. No matter what, they killed my father, my village which I was born in, I swear I will protect Mary and Mother from them.
I must have blacked-out after the horrible incident that occured yesterday, I couldn't believe it, Brother William is dead. In the morning I felt awful, the Cathedral next door had tons of people crowding it, even Sarah was there, I knew it could only mean one thing...Brother William's funeral. Suddenly a voice in my mind told me,
"Sad isn't it? To lose someone you care so much for."
I didn't understand what it meant but I didn't care too much about it. When Sarah was done attending William's funeral, she decided to stay home so I had to go to school alone today. When I was walking to the village to pick up a few supplies suddenly out of nowhere it started to rain. All the villagers quickly ran inside, but me I didn't really mind, it made me feel at home for some reason. I don't remember where I came from but it must be raining alot there, then the boy I met yesterday suddenly appeared right in front of me.
"Hello Mary."
"And what do I owe this visit, Demon-san?"
"A kiss.."
And there under the shining moonlight the cute boy kissed me, his lips met mine gently, softly.
"You are now under my contract, you shall follow me every wim."
Everything suddenly turned red, not the place, but my eyes, I watched behind the glassy eyes and slowly blurted out,
"Yes, My Lord."
I didn't know what happened or what made me do that, but all I know is I am now the servant for this Denomic Boy.
As I woke up from my deep slumber, I was found laying next to that demon boy from yesterday!! I tried to let out a scream but he woke up before I could say anthing and quickly covered my mouth. But he didn't look awake, his eyes were still closed and he was still mumbling. That must've been a reflex or something, but he still held on to me, he even pulled me closer. Embraced in his warm arms, I slowly fell back asleep. When I woke up it was night, I looked around but the boy was nowhere to be found. I got changed and headed out to meet Sarah. I gazed at the shinging moon, I walked dazily to Sarah's room to ask her to go see the stars with me. But she wasn't there, in fact none of her stuff was there, it was another empty room. I started to panick, I asked all of the sisters' in the church, but no one has seen her. Until one of Sarah's old friend told me something I never wanted to hear.
"Oh, you're looking for Sarah? Sorry but she left, she and her mother left to her hometown to live their again. She told us all not to tell you."
I walked dazily out to the courtyard. I couldn't believe that Sarah left and didn't tell me. I began to feel a little faint, I wobbled around until I couldn't walk anymore, I sat down next to the fountain and everything went black. Next thing I new I was being carried by the demon boy!
"Oh, you're awake?"
He brushed my cheek.
"I'm glad you're alright, I must have taken too much energy from you and you passed out."
"What do you mean?"
"Heres the deal, you and I are in a contract, and as my servant I take energy from you little by little."
".......?"
He carried me back to my room, and set me down on my bed.
"Thank you very much."
He gave me a small container. It had something sparkling inside.
"What is this?"
"When the time comes, you will know."
He kissed me again, but this time, it was more different, it felt like snow was gently falling on my lips, soft, yet cold. I was content for the first time in my life, and it was by a demon boy I hardly knew.
All I remembered last night was that kiss, I can still feel his gentle touch on my lips. And now here I am still attending class like normal, everything was still normal, except there was one person missing from this part...Sarah. It felt like it's been such a long time since I've seen Sarah. I wonder how's she doing with life. Well i'm doing horrible, this is why....
(Class)
"Okay everyone, today we have a new student, his name is Alexander Dark.
"Oh he's so cute!"
"He's so hot!"
I just thought to myself. What the heck is going on here, how did he get enrolled into the church school???!!! After class was over I slowly walked to my usual spot near the fountain where I also found Alexander snoozing off I believe. I quietly sat besids him keeping a careful distance, but he still sensed me and quickly woke up and grapped my hand and held it tightly. Until he noticed who I was he let go.
"I'm sorry, I thought you were someone else."
I noticed that small glimmer in his eyes, it was dark, but it disappeared in a blink of his eyes. I suddenly felt a chill behind my back, like something or someone was staring at me darkly, but I turned and Alexander covered my eyes.
"No, do not look back Mary, I cannot allow your eyes to be tainted by something like that."
"...Alexander.....?"
Alexander held me close and suddenly a strong wind blew from behind me. Alexander uncovered my eyes.
"What was that?"
"That was...a...."
His voice started to trail off, suddenly I felt him lean on me heavily. His eyes closed, but still breathing. I tried to carry him off to my room, it was quite hard noticing the age and height difference. Then I suddenly remembered what he had said about the contract, he had spoken of something aboout energy taking, but how did it work? Then I remembered the times he kissed me and how I felt faint every time he did it. So it was a kiss! I blushed as I slowly knelt down, breathing. I closed my eyes and our lips touched, it felt warm and snug, I started to feel my energy disappearing and I fell asleep, our lips entwined to together peacefully.
I remember when I was little, my mother and father hated me, they pitied me so much. But I remember someone, a boy treated me with kindness. I don't remember him much but I believe he was the one who usually saved me from my parents whenever they hit me. I think he was my first love, but someone had forbidden it so my mother and my father abandoned me near the church five years ago. But I'll never forget that warmth the boy gave me in times of need.
