DECIDE,TAKE CHARGE AND ACT 75
A book is never written by an author unless it is first written on the heart and mind of the author by thousands of contributors and influencers in his or her life and then penned through a collaborative effort of many people, who through a corporate process, deliver a product that millions can benefit from. Therefore it is impossible for any author to deserve full credit for any work accomplished.
First and foremost, I have to thank God for this journey, indeed you are Ebenzer, secondly to my parents for their love and support throughout my life. Thank you both for giving me strength to reach for the stars and chase my dreams. To the fallen soldier of the great KDF, my dad Mr Willis Olweny, you were a great inspiration, you instilled the heart of a soldier in each one of us, my Mum , Mama Africa Mrs Benter Olweny, you had that spirit, yes that spirit that said yes you can. We learnt to be responsible and grow in the fear of the Lord; right now all the five kids are greate preachers of the word. You left us in the hands of the most loving parent, Father God.
To my siblings, Kevoh Zeal, Rinei Kezzy, Denis George and Ken Peter, I love you all. Thank you for the unity during the hard times, we pulled through by the grace of God. You guys are the bomb. Hi, I have worked in the field of coaching for some time now, and I am always amazed at the God given ability we humans have to improve our lives for the better. There has been great philosophical debate throughout the centuries, as to 'why we are here', and 'what life is about'. In simple terms, people of all walks of life have fundamentally come to the same conclusion. That is, we are here to make what we can of life, to lead meaningful relationships, to reproduce, and master areas of our own choice. Happiness is an achievement we can come to know and love, through improving our thoughts and beliefs about the world and each other.
Maybe you are reading this book because you wish to improve your own self, if so I am quite sure the things you shall learn about will help you greatly. Maybe you are reading this book because you have things going on in your life which you are struggling with. If this is the case then please do read on, as I know the ideas you will get from this book will have some benefit to you both emotionally, SPRITUALLY and psychologically. Or, maybe you are reading this book because you want to feel better today. While I can not promise immediate relief from inner burdens, I can ensure you that if you are to take some of the ideas in this book and practice them like you would a hobby, self esteem will happen for you. Hope Will Happen
‘’In the dark dreary nights, when the storm is at its most fierce, the lighthouse burns bright so the sailors can find their way home again. In life the same light burns. This light is fueled with love, faith, and hope. And through life’s most fierce storms these three burn their brightest so we also can find our way home again.’’
Death can never kill hope. Hope is more powerful than death; it outlives men and can never be destroyed. As a matter of fact, Hope produces everything. Everything that we are today started with the hope that one day you’ll have something. This book itself is the result of hope, a story of hope.
It is interesting to note, the most difficult thing to fight against is hope that has decided to grow. Spiritually speaking hope can never be destroyed by physical weapons such as swords, guns, tanks, nuclear weapons, or biological/chemical weapons but it only leaves when we decide its time. Why? Because it incubates in a place where no weapon can reach: the heart. If you have to take everything from a man, at least leave him with hope. However small it may be.
God has rested a vision and a burden in my heart this vision God has planted in my heart... bringing help and hope from the very heart of God ... It’s vitally important work — because so many people today are lonely, depressed, hurting . . . and without the knowledge and power they need to be changed! This is why I was born! God has given me a burning passion to reach out to ordinary, everyday people like you and me, and offer real help. Real hope.Real answers.A Voice of Hope
The vision God has placed in my heart is clear: to bring the life-changing power of God to this world and provide people with real and practical solutions to their needs. As you know, the most important need anyone has is to know Jesus Christ. But once someone is saved, they need practical and meaningful teaching that will change their life forever. We are seeing God working supernaturally in people’s finances, their health, in marriages, in children — all of them being changed through the power of God’s Word! This ministry isn’t about me. It’s about God and YOU. I simply serve as a coach — a coach is committed to getting every player ready to win the championship. I am committed to helping each player identify what he or she needs to do to overcome every obstacle faced! I want to help you, too. I don’t believe in superficial, disposable relationships. I want to walk this walk with you. I want to motivate you . . . help you grow in your faith. I want to serve as a resource for you . . . so that no matter what area of life you need help in — no matter how you need encouragement or direction — you can receive it from me through this vision –ERIC OTIENO OLWENY
To succeed you need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate you, something to inspire you.
Remembering my childhood and noticing that alot that has been happening;the inspiration and great urge for achievement wasn’t born out of nothing but life itself. Born in a military camp in the areas of Lanet Nakuru. I could wake up and see the military soldiers; my dad included making their mornig runs and could tell myself than this is nothing more than focus and hard work.
There was a 2 km run, hardcore exercise where the run ended and then a 2 km run back to the camp. They were back by 6 and had to dress up in proper khakis and only then were allowed breakfast. There was the breakfast and then within an hour, they had to join ranks again to start their marching. I saw this for a period of time as my father moved up the ranks until he was the one incharge of the training. This inspired me.
My father never had any ambition to accumulate riches and left us very little. He had no much education but enough, the little that he had experienced he excelled. At best, he might be said to have gone up to the 12th Kenyan standard of those ancient days but he was one man who valued the education of his children like a man would treasure a golden medal.. His rich experience of practical affairs stood him in good stead in the solution of the most intricate questions and in managing hundreds of men. Of religious training he had very little, but he had that kind of religious culture which frequent listening to religious songs on Sundays. In his last days almost close to his deathhe gave his life to Christ , the best decision. That was when I was just in form three Kenyan study mode. Left in the middle of nowhere with no idea where to start; who would pay my school fees was the question running through my mind. This was less than a year after my mother had passed on.
Most of my spiritual life was inspired by my mother. When I am counting my blessing I count her twice. The outstanding impression my mother left on my memory is that of saintliness. She was deeply religious and spiritual if I can say that. She would not think of taking her meals without her daily prayers. Going to church was one of her weekly duties and she never failed to tag us along.
As far as my memory can go back, I do not remember her having ever missed the Sunday Services. She would take the hardest vows and keep them without flinching. Illness was no excuse for relaxing them. I can recall her once falling ill when she was observing the fasts vow, but the illness was not allowed to interrupt the observance. To keep two or three consecutive fasts was nothing to her. Living on one meal a day during kufunga was a habit with her. Once in
