3 yds. narrow Ribbon
2 yds. ⅝ inch Ribbon
GAUGE: 2 patterns = 1 inch, 4 rows = 1 inch
JACKET
FRONTS: Chain (ch) 40, 1 double crochet (dc) in 4th stitch (st) from hook, * ch 1, skip 1 st of ch, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts of ch, repeat from * across ch, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW: (Right Side) slip st (sl st) between 1st 2 dc, * ch 3, 2 short double crochet (sdc) in 1st st of ch (sdc: yarn over hook, insert in st, pull loop through, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops at one time), skip next ch 1 space, 2 sdc between the next 2 dc, repeat from * across row, ch 3, turn. 3rd ROW: 1 dc between 1st 2 sdc, * ch 1, 2 dc between next 2 sdc, repeat from * across row working last 2 dc in ch 1 of turning ch, ch 1, turn. Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows for pattern until section measures 7½ inches, ch 3, turn. NEXT ROW: 1 dc in each dc and ch 1 space across row, ch 3, turn. NEXT ROW: Working in back loop of sts only 1 dc in next dc, working in front loop of sts only 1 dc in next dc, repeat from beginning across row, ch 3, turn. NEXT 5 ROWS: Repeat last row, cut yarn.
BACK: Ch 76 and work in same manner as front.
SLEEVES: Ch 43 and work in pattern until sleeve measures 7½ inches, cut yarn.
FINISHING: Sew 4 inches on each side for shoulder seams leaving 4 inches free for neck. Sew side and sleeve seams, sew sleeves in position.
CUFFS: With right side of work toward you, join yarn in seam, ch 1, * 1 single crochet (sc) between next 2 dc, 1 sc in next ch 1 space, repeat from * all around, join. 2nd ROUND: Ch 1, 1 sc in same space, 1 sc in each sc, join. Repeat the 2nd round 3 times. NEXT ROUND: * Ch 3, 2 sdc in 1st st of ch, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * all around, join, cut yarn.
COLLAR: With right side of work toward you, join yarn in 1st row of yoke and work 2 sc in each dc on sides, 1 sc in each dc across top, ch 1, turn. 2nd ROW: 1 sc in each sc working 3 sc in each corner st, ch 1, turn. Repeat the 2nd row 3 times. NEXT ROW: Work same as last row of cuffs, cut yarn.
Attach yarn at neck edge of Left Front and working down front, * ch 3, 2 sdc in 1st st of ch, sc in next dc row, repeat from * all around working the sc between the 2 dc across lower edge, cut yarn. Lace narrow ribbon across lower edge and finish with bows as illustrated. Sew ⅝ inch ribbon at neck edge and tie in bow.
BONNET
Ch 4, join to form a ring, ch 1 and work 6 sc in ring, do not join this or following rounds. Place a marker at beginning of each round. 2nd ROUND: 2 sc in each sc. 3rd ROUND: * 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around. 4th ROUND: 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from * all around. Continue increasing in same manner having 1 more st between increases in each round until there are 90 sts in round. NEXT 2 ROUNDS: 1 sc in each sc, join last round, cut yarn, turn. (Section measures about 4½ inches in diameter). Attach yarn in 11th sc to the left of joining and working through front loop of sts only ch 3, 1 dc in next sc, * ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * across 71 sts leaving 19 sts free for back of neck, ch 1, turn. Work even in pattern for 5 inches on the 71 sts ending with 3rd row of pattern, cut yarn.
TURNBACK:With right side of last row worked toward you, attach yarn at beginning of row and working through back loop of sts only work 1 sc in each dc, 1 sc in each ch 1, ch 1, turn. NEXT 5 ROWS: Working through both loops of sts only 1 sc in each sc, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: Work same as last row of collar of Jacket.
NECK EDGE BORDER: Work 65 sc across edge, turn. Ch 3, 1 dc in next st, * ch 1, skin 1 st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * across row for Beading ch 1, turn. NEXT 3 ROWS: 1 sc in each dc, 1 sc in each ch 1 space, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: 1 sc in each sc, turn. NEXT ROW: * Ch 3, 2 sdc in 1st st of ch, skip next 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across row, cut yarn. Lace narrow ribbon around top of crown tying in a bow. Lace ⅝ inch ribbon through neck edge beading. Finish with ribbon ties.
MITTENS
Ch 34 to measure about 5½ inches, 1 dc in 4th st from hook, * ch 1, skip next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * across ch. Work even in pattern for 2 inches ending with 2nd row of pattern. NEXT ROW: Working in pattern decrease 2 patterns evenly spaced. (To decrease: work * 1 dc between the next 2 sdc, repeat from * once). NEXT ROW: Work even in pattern. NEXT ROW: Decrease 2 patterns evenly spaced, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: 1 sc in each dc, 1 sc in each ch 1 space, ch 1, turn. NEXT 2 ROWS: 1 sc in each sc, cut yarn leaving an end. Thread into needle and draw sts together fastening securely. Sew side seam. With right side toward you attach yarn in seam at opposite side of starting ch and work 34 sc across top, join in 1st sc. NEXT 4 ROWS: Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc, join. NEXT ROW: Same as last row of collar of Jacket, join, cut yarn. Lace ribbon through 1st row of pattern.
BOOTIES
Ch 37 to measure about 6 inches, 1 dc in 4th st of ch, * ch 1, skip next st, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, repeat from * across ch. Work in pattern for 2 inches ending with 2nd row of pattern, cut yarn, turn.
INSTEP: Skip 4 patterns, attach yarn in 5th sdc group from beginning and work across 3 patterns, ch 1, turn. Work even in pattern for 2 inches ending with 3rd row of pattern, ch 1, turn. NEXT ROW: Work 1 sc in each dc, 1 sc in each ch 1 space across row, 9 sc on side of instep, 14 sc across skipped patterns, then work 14 sc across opposite side (this joins Bootie together at back), 9 sc up opposite side of instep. Do not join this or following rounds, place a marker at beginning of each round. NEXT ROUND: 1 sc in each sc decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced around toe. NEXT 7 ROUNDS: 1 sc in each sc. NEXT ROUND: 1 sc in each sc decreasing 3 sts evenly spaced at toe and decreasing 3 sts at heel. NEXT ROUND: 1 sc in each sc decreasing 2 sts evenly spaced at toe and decreasing 2 sts at heel. NEXT ROUND: 1 sc in each sc decreasing 1 st at center of toe and 1 st at center of heel, join, cut yarn. Sew sole and back seam. Attach yarn in seam at opposite side of starting ch and work edge same as mittens, cut yarn. Lace ribbon through 1st row of pattern and finish with bow.
