MATERIALS REQUIRED — American Thread Company "Dawn" Saxony Yarn.
1¾ -oz. Ball, White or Baby Colors.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 1 or 2.
½ yd. of narrow ribbon.
Ch 20, join and work 1 s c in each ch, join.
Next Row—Ch 3 and work 1 d c in each s c (20 d c).
Next Row—Work a d c in each d c increasing in every 4th st (25 d c).
Next Row—2 s c in each d c.
Next Row—Ch 3, pick up 2nd ch and pull through, insert needle in next ch and pull through, insert needle in next s c, pull through, insert needle in next s c and pull through all loops on needle, ch 1 (the ch 1 is termed the eye of the st), * insert needle in eye and pull through, insert needle in sideloop of star st just made and pull through, insert in next s c and pull through, insert needle in next s c and pull through all loops on needle, repeat from * all around.
Next Row—*1 s c in loop, 1 s c in eye of st, repeat from * all around.
Repeat the last 2 rows until work measures 5½ inches ending with the star st row.
Next Row—*Ch 5, skip 1 star st, s c in next star, repeat from * all around (12 loops).
Next Row—Sl st to loop, *ch 5, s c in next loop repeat from * all around.
Next Row—Sl st to loop, ch 3, d c in next loop, picot, d c in same loop, picot, d c in same loop, ch 3, s c in next loop and repeat all around.
Lace ribbon through loops at top and tie around neck of bottle.

Bottle Cover, Mittens, & Bootees
MATERIALS:
CHADWICK'S RED HEART BABY BUNTING POMPADOUR, 3 balls (¾ oz. balls).
Crochet Hook, Size G.
Steel Crochet Hook No. 1.
2 small pearl buttons.
2 yards of narrow ribbon.
GAUGE: (With G hook) 5 sts make 1 inch; (sc with single yarn and No. 1 hook) 6 sts make 1 inch.
SHOES (Sole) … Starting at heel with double strand of yarn and No. 1 hook, ch 6. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. 2nd and 3rd rows: 2 sc in 1st sc, sc in each st across, 2 sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in each st across (9 sts). Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row until piece measures 3¼ inches in all. Ch 1, turn. Next row: Skip 1st sc, sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. Repeat last row until 5 sts remain (Toe). Fasten off.
UPPER (Toe Piece) … With single strand of yarn and G hook, ch 7 to measure 1¼ inches. 1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across (6 sts). Ch 1, turn. 2nd row: Sc in 1st st (tr in next st, sc in next st) twice; sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. 3rd row: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. 4th row: Sc in first 2 sts, (tr in next st, sc in next st) twice. Ch 1, turn. 5th row: Same as 3rd row. Repeat the 2nd and 3rd rows once more. Ch 32 (to measure about 6 inches), drop loop from hook, insert hook in first st of last row and, being careful not to twist chain, draw dropped loop through. Now work the Side of Upper as follows: 1st rnd: (The wrong side of Toe Piece is facing). Ch 1, work sc in each of 32 ch, work 7 sc along side of Toe Piece, 6 sc along opposite side of foundation chain and 7 sc along other side (52 sc). Join with sl st in 1st sc made. Ch 1, turn. 2nd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * tr in next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * around, ending with tr in last st. Join. Ch 1, turn. 3rd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each st around (52 sts). Ch 1, turn. 4th rnd: Tr in same place as sl st, * sc in next st, tr in next st. Repeat from * around, ending with sc in last st. Join. Ch 1, turn. 5th rnd: Same as 3rd rnd. Repeat 2nd to 5th rnds incl until piece measures 1¼ inches (measuring from chain), ending with either the 3rd or 5th rnd. Fasten off.
