[prologue sneak peak]
There was nothing horrible or good to make us move here.
Nothing extraordinary ever happens in my life.
I think that's because I'm too plain; ordinary.
White hot, forked and jagged lightning flashes through the fast blackening sky. Crackling thunder ripples; the deafening noise echoes in the forest. Rain fell in thick sheets of fat, grey droplets. Wind howls and strips the branches clean from the trees, and swirling around in a frenetic heap. The window wipers frantically tried to wipe away the rain pelting down on the screen; the sound sounds like rubber bullets hitting metal. I could barely see through the window. My brother is frowning at the car screen and searches around for our new home.
Lin Derby is a very small town, surrounded by forest in Alaska. Less than one thousand people live here. There's no school, you have to go to the next town for the school- which is miles and miles away. A small medical centre is considered a hospital here. Most people would hate it here, but my brother and I needed to move here, away from hustle and bustle of the city.
Nothing bad happened.
We just need a fresh start.
"We're here."

[chapter one sneak peak]
Before I could answer I hear a bell ring, signaling some-one coming in. I turn around and see a guy in his mid-twenties.
He has tousled dark brown hair, murky green eyes, olive skinned arm muscles covered in tribal-looking tattoos and his handsome but scary face had an eyebrow piecing and a silver lip ring. He was carrying a brown box in arms.
He went behind the bench and huffs loudly - he still hasn't looked at me. He was about to swipe my groceries but he stops midway and sniffs really loudly. He seems to tense, and then he slowly looks at me.
I gasp when I see his eyes are flickering from green to an intense gold, back and forth.
That's god damn crazy. I must be going mad.
He shakes his head and continues his job. But he's sweating slightly, his body is tense, and his broad chest is moving up and down heavily. I pay him, then he hands me the receipt. His fingers brush mine and both of us let out a small gasp.
His touch was hot.
Like I mean, actually hot - burning hot. I don't know why he gasped when he touched me.
I'm utterly confused.
I look around the store while I grab the bags full of food; I notice that the middle-aged man was staring at the cashier with wide and almost scared looking eyes.
Then he looks at me with disgust. I frown at that.
Then I heard a loud, animalistic growl rumble through the shop making the store lights flicker and the ground slightly shake. I let out a startled squeak at the terrifying noise, and look around for some type of rabid animal nearby.
But there wasn't one.

[chapter two/last sneakpeak]
Darkly foreboding feelings oozing from the depths of the darkness of the forest, ominous sounds and the sounds of creaking and whispering trees. Thick, dark leaves, overhanging branches and dense wood. Matted undergrowth, narrow and twisting paths.
Familiar howls.
I whimper as I heard loud thuds and blood-curdling howls coming from the direction in front of me. I start running, fear pumping in my veins and feeding my adrenaline.
I scream as I see shadows behind me and the barks that feel like they were making my heart skip several beats and goose bumps crawl up my skin. Suddenly something crashes into me causing me to collide into the ground. My body aches from the weight on me. It felt like my bones were crushing into small shards.
"Get off! Get off! It hurts!" I scream but knowing it wouldn't do any good.
Then suddenly the weight disappears. I open my eyes and gasp at what my eyes see.
Six giant wolves were staring at me, all with large predatory golden eyes and in attack positions. I was stuck in a bad situation.
I couldn't move. They'd attack me.
I couldn't stare at them. They'd see it as a threat.
I couldn't defend myself. They'd easily kill me.
All I could do is stare at the ground and hope for some miracle.
