1.Enchantment

Behold the lady cloaked in blue
Whose dreamy eyes bespeak a tale
Of passion that bewitches you,
Arises love alike a gale.

The silver ball reflects a light,
A beauty like the starry night.
She warbles dulcet tunes through air,
Creates a charm beyond compare.

Form: Rispetto
A Rispetto, an Italian form of poetry, is a complete poem of two rhyme quatrains with strict meter. The meter is usually iambic tetrameter with a rhyme scheme of abab ccdd.


2. Destination

Life
gives way
to its last
destination,
death.

Form: Lanturne
The Lanturne is a five-line verse shaped like a Japanese lantern with a syllabic pattern of one,

3. The Clocks of Ages

" When the seconds tick by, I brood over the past and feel morose."

Morose I feel, when the seconds tick by and brood over the past.

The seconds tick by, I feel morose when I brood over the past.

4. Yummy tea

Tea leaves are ready to flop
in the boiling pot
of water before adding
them with creamy milk
to make a cup of
fresh, hot tea.

Form: Epulaeryu
The Epulaeryu poem is all about delicious food. It consists of seven lines with thirty-three (33) syllables. The first line has seven (7) syllables, the second line five (5), the third line seven (7), the fourth line five (5), the fifth line five (5), the sixth line three (3), and the seventh line has only one (1) syllable which ends with an exclamation mark. The form is 7/5/7/5/5/3/1. Each line has one thought which is about the main course. Therefore, this poetic form, the Epulaeryu, which has corresponding lines built around the main course and ending with an exclamation point, concludes with the ending line expressing the writer’s excitement and feelings about the poem. The poem may be rhymed or unrhymed. The Epulaeryu poem was developed by Joseph Spence, Sr. The name of the poetic form was selected as a result of experiencing the Mediterranean and Far East cultures, and enjoying many succulent and nourishing meals and food during those memorable travels.
