Introduction

The rosary is a traditional and mighty Christian prayer. It helps to meditate about the life of Jesus Christ and to find inner peace and strength. This book explains how the rosary is prayed in easy-to-follow steps.

This book includes:

  • The Joyful Mysteries
  • The Mysteries of Light
  • The Glorious Mysteries
  • The Sorrowful Mysteries

The rosary helps us to medidate on the life of Jesus Christ. That's why there are several rosaries. Each rosary helps to have a look at a certain part of Jesus Christ's life. Praying the rosary we also meditate on five bible quotations:

The Joyful Mysteries tell us about Jesus' childhood. The Sorrowful Mysteries tell us about Jesus' suffering and death. And the Glorious Mysteries tell us about His Resurrection.

Last but not least the Mysteries of Light are a summary of Jesus' life. They tell us about Jesus' baptism, the wedding feast in Cana, the proclamation of God's kingdom, Jesus's transfiguration and about the institution of the Eucharist.

the Joyful Mysteries

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, Our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified; died, and was buried. He descended into Hell; the third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

First Joyful Mystery: The Annunciation
"In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary" (Lk 1:26-27).

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

(following prayer is prayed 10 times:)

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now,
