Australia:
My Patriotism.
By Katherine Crancher
What a Nation.
In what kind of nation
Do the people sing about
A clinically insane and intoxicated homeless man
With a tendency to dance with his luggage,
A fetish for stolen mutton,
And an inclination to commit suicide at the slightest provocation?
Beaches' Endearment
In the land that’s an island
one will find the beaches plagued
with cigarette butts and blue bottles,
Seedy perving old men with their Speedos on too tight,
Sand that scorches the feet,
Sun that singes the skin,
and zinc clad children’s faces, who will urinate in the surf.
The same surf where
unsuspecting swimmers swim.
Take pleasure in your seaside holiday.
Conclusions.
Oh Great Home That’s Girt By Seas -
We all hope to avoid
The Dreaded Slimy Drifting Seaweed.
Oh Jolly Swagman -
Life is short,
Enjoy your mutton.
