School Days

It was the last day of 10th standard and everyone was enjoying a lot but abruptly the bell rang and all the children got a circular, which read that, from Monday all the students would be shifted to a new branch of the school.

St. Peter School was an eminent school in Tech Land as children from all over the globe studied there. It was a great pleasure for the children to know that, they were being shifted to a new branch of their school.

The short vacation was an electrifying retreat for the children as the school had organized a weekday long excursion for them to the holy islands of Crolestine in which they saw the primeval empire of the Crolestinians. It was a mirage for the children as they hadn’t seen such a groovy place in their lives but alas, it was the incredulity of only seven days, after which they had to return to their homes and live an ordinary life.

The week ended up with a lot of magnificent sightings at Crolestine. It was the time for them to return to their homes. They sat on the choppers booked by the school and returned back to their homes. They were missing that trip a lot, as it was an extraordinary sighting for them.

In the morning, there was a lot of havoc in each child’s house as most of them followed the universal rule of packing the bags early morning. In addition, they never implemented the words of their parents into their real lives as they thought them to be revolting.

Finally, everyone was seated in the assembly hall, given chances to interact with their new teachers and were given a basic idea of St. Peter School. The children were allotted with new classrooms and reputed teachers, so that they could achieve something in their lives.

After a session of introduction to the school, the children went to their respected classes and started attending the lectures from their new subject teachers. They all were full of pride after getting a lavish school like St. Peter. It was a technologically advance school with features that could only be imagined. There was an electronic attendance system and most of the subjects were taught to the children with the help of SMART BOARDS, while the remaining ones were taught through an advanced technique, which was rather very expensive, and no other school than St. Peter could afford it. It was surprisingly a marvel for the students.

After a short while, the bell rang and the class teacher entered the class. Her students greeted her and after that, she started introducing herself.

She said courteously, ‘I am Ms. Julie from the senior department and I am going to be your new class teacher so please introduce yourselves as we all our new to each other.’

After she had finished speaking, the children started asking questions from her.

She answered all their questions but after a long time was spent on the discussion, she asked the children if they were finished with their queries and politely said, ‘May we now look into our studies if you all have finished with your questions.’

It was the fourth period and everyone was talking when Ms. Julie asked the children to take out their books and told them to read the chapter silently but unfortunately, the children started getting bored and an absolute chaos was created in the classroom as some of them were playing while some of them were barking like dogs.

She was annoyed with the children due to which she had to shout on them, in order to stop that anarchy.

After listening to the teacher, everyone got quite and there was a pin drop silence in the class as everyone started studying after getting a scolding from their urbane class teacher. The periods were getting over after a certain interval of time and finally the mid-day break started and all the children rushed to the ground so that they could grab their favourite accessories to play.

All the children were playing in the ground but Ms. Julie noticed a child sitting alone at the backside lane of the canteen. His head was down with a strange guise on his face that forced her to shout and made her run away from there.

That was the reddish color in the eyes of that boy. She closed her eyes as she got scared and then all the teachers from the senior department rushed there to see what had happened over there.

Ms. Cyrus, the principal of the school came and asked her why she was shouting so loudly.

Then she said, ‘There was a boy sitting alone at the corner of the backside lane of the canteen and there was an eccentric red colour in his eyes.’

When everyone went to the back of the canteen, they saw that there was no one sitting over there.

It was a surprising thing for Ms. Julie. She was so shocked that she couldn’t even say a single word and everyone began to think that she had gone crazy but how would she tell anyone about those haunting minutes, as she was very much scared.

Ms. Julie went to the staff room and sat there sullenly but before she could ponder upon anything, a gruff voice grabbed her attention and said, ‘You can’t touch my son at all; even no one can touch him!’

Then the voice started screeching and suddenly disappeared. She inquired of the teachers, if they had heard that nasty voice or not but all of them replied that they had heard no such voice.

Ms. Julie was dazed after hearing that, due to which she rushed to the washroom and washed her face with a splash of the frosty water, which touched her hair and gave her a feeling of relaxation.

After that, the school got over and she quickly packed up her bright coloured bag, rushed towards her home and started thinking about that boy; she wondered who could that boy be and to which country or probably planet, he belonged to.

Everything was flowing in her mind like water, due to which she felt asleep after some time.

On the next morning when she went to the school, she taught her class and started moving towards the staff room but while she was going by the corridors, she confronted that boy once again.

She ran after him, held his hand and asked, ‘What’s your name, fellow?’

The boy replied brashly, ‘I am Petrus,’ with a tone of absolute bluntness.

Ms. Julie saw a sign of an evil shadow in his right arm but before she could inquire anything, the bell rang; Petrus threw away her hand and ran away, while leaving her in bewilderment.

Then it was the computer period of 11th E. Everyone was very excited to see their new computer lab but it was the theory period and unfortunately, the teacher came in and started introducing herself.

She said civilly, ‘I am Ms. Hyenna and I’m your new computer teacher,’ and with that point, she started introducing herself to the children and answered all of their queries.

She also kept an informatory session in order to scrutinize the general knowledge of the children but only three students named Robert, Albert and Victor answered most of the questions. They seemed to be the most brilliant ones amongst rest of the children due to which they were able to leave a virtuous impression on her mind.

Ms. Hyenna was very impressed with them due to which she had to appreciate their alertness.

When the lab period started, they all made a queue and started moving towards the lab. The lab was on the first floor and it was obviously not that much tough for the eleventh standard students to climb that short proportion of stairs but they were acting as if they were feeling sluggish.

They were told to write a software program in which they could calculate their age in Moon in ‘Q**’. It was launched by a renowned company named “Questesis” and had gained a lot of fame in a short span of time after its splendid launch.

However, this could be a reason due to which St. Peter School had to make that software as a part of their syllabus.

After grasping a basic knowledge of the software, they all started making their programs. While everyone was busy in making the programs, Ms. Hyenna was having a look on the children who were busy in talking.

She started assessing the programs but found that most of them were not working.

When she saw the programs made by Robert and Albert, she was very impressed with both of them and then an idea darted into her mind but unexpectedly the bell rang and everyone rushed back to their homes.

The next morning in the zero period, Ms. Hyenna came into the class and told Robert and Albert to come and meet her personally. Both of them were wondering, what could be the reason for which she was calling them to talk to her personally.

As they entered the lab, Ms. Hyenna asked them, ‘What do you think about starting a club in which children can come and learn various computer languages by joining the club.’

They both replied, ‘Sure Ma’am,’ as if they were ready for it since the beginning of the new session.

‘But, we will have to talk to Ms. Julie regarding this, as without your class teacher’s permission we cannot start this club,’ said Ms. Hyenna.

Robert asked Albert, ‘What about if Ms. Julie says no for this club.’

Albert replied tensely, ‘Then it would be a big problem for us.’

Ms. Hyenna went to Ms. Julie and said her, ‘I have noticed two children who are very intelligent in computers and I am thinking of starting a club in which children can come and learn various computer languages by joining this club.’

Ms. Julie thought for some time and replied, ‘Yes, It’s a nice idea.’

‘Oh thank you Ms. Julie,’ replied Ms. Hyenna and then she went to Robert and Albert and said them, ‘Ms. Julie is ready for this club.’

‘Yes!’ they both shouted hastily.

From the next day, they both started going to the club but when they were going to the club, Victor asked them, ‘Where are you going?’

They both replied, ‘We are going to the computer club.’

Victor said, ‘Please, take me with you’.

They both didn’t want to take him to the club but they were forced to take him with them as he was troubling them a lot.

When Ms. Hyenna saw Victor, she was very happy with them, as she wanted more children to join the club.

She said to both of them, ‘Please, tell something to Victor also,’ and in order to show some politeness they started teaching him.

After some time the zero period got over and three of them went back to their class but when the mid-day break began, they started to think; how to get freedom from Victor and then after some days, they started going without Victor and their plan got successful.

After few days, a child said to Ms. Hyenna, ‘I want to join the club.’

She replied happily, ‘Yes, you can.’

From the next day, he also started going to the club but Robert felt something strange with that boy, but what was that, no one knew.

Robert and Albert didn’t like that boy at all and one day while teaching him, Robert asked the boy his name.

He said, ‘I am Petrus,’ leaving Robert confused.

When Robert reached home, he started thinking about Petrus and pondered upon his eccentricity.

The next day was an optimistic day for them as while going to the club, they forgot to tell their class teacher that they were going to the club.

They went to the club and discussed the terms and policies of the club that every member was supposed to follow.

When they came back from the club, Ms. Julie was standing near the door.

They had still not entered the class but Ms. Julie had gone ballistic and no one could stop her at this stringent stage.

She scolded them very much and said ruthlessly, ‘You will not go to the club from tomorrow.’

They both were feeling very desolate after hearing those brutal words from Ms. Julie, as they had to follow her instructions any way.

After that in the mid-day break, they sat on the stairs and started discussing that what would happen in the upcoming day.

While talking, Robert argued Albert, ‘Have you noticed Petrus, don’t you think, he is strange?’, ‘Strange! He is super strange with his work,’ replied Albert in an amusing tone.

‘No I didn’t mean that,’ said Robert.

‘Never Mind,’ replied Albert laughingly, ‘and please, I don’t even want to know about that guy. I don’t keep interest in these guys.’

‘Okay! Leave it, I am thinking that how will we go to the lab tomorrow,’ Robert replied with some misery in his voice but they could not talk further as it was the dispersal time and they had to catch their buses, so they took up their bags and rushed towards their buses.

Robert reached home in a very less time as that bus moved with a weird speed; slightly compared to the speed of sound.

These kinds of events were normal at that time as it was a ‘TECH RICH CENTURY.’

He ate some snacks and felt asleep.

When he woke up in the morning, he had forgotten the things that had happened the day before.

He went to the school but found that Albert was absent, so he went to Ms. Julie and asked, ‘Ma’am can I go to the computer club?’

She said heatedly, ‘Have you forgotten what have I told you yesterday, you will not go to the computer club from today,’ and then he whispered slowly, ‘oh no man!’

‘How can I forget this thing? Sorry ma’am,’ he replied glumly.

Now it was the science period in their class but Robert had to submit his math’s notebook, so he went out for giving his notebook to the math’s teacher.

While he was going, suddenly someone put a tight hand on his shoulder and when he turned around, he saw that it was Ms. Curie, his science teacher.

She held his ears tightly and took him to the class. His ears were vibrating until the period got over and this time he was very irritated.

He was so alone that he could not even share his feelings with anyone as his parents had died long ago in a mysterious accident.

On the next day in school, Ms. Julie asked Robert for the fees but he was not able to pay the fees.

Ms. Hyenna knew that why Robert was not giving the fees, so she went to the principal and talked to her about his fees.

She explained her that why he was not able to pay the fees.

She told Ms. Cyrus, ‘Robert is not able to give the fees as his parents had died in an accident, many years ago.’

‘OK, I understand,’ replied Ms. Cyrus and then Ms. Hyenna went back to the lab.

On the next day, while Robert and Albert were sitting together and having their lunch, a boy came and said, ‘Robert, Ms. Cyrus is calling you,’ and he ran away from there as he was a prefect and the principal could not afford any kind of late work; especially from a 12th standard boy.

This time he got very scared but he went to the office to meet the principal.

He opened the door silently and the moment he entered her room, he started saying, ‘Ma’am I am really sorry, please forgive me.’

‘I will never go anywhere without asking the teacher,‘ he mumbled in a sobbing voice.

‘Wait a second! What are you saying? I have not called you for this matter. I have called you to tell that you can study in the school without paying the fees under our HELP TO NEEDY PROGRAM,’ said Ms. Cyrus.

‘I understand your feelings,’ she said once again, feeling guilty for him.

‘Oh, thank you Ma’am! Thank you once again,’ replied Robert with bliss in his eyes.

After that, he returned to his class, felt more relaxed and was able to concentrate on his studies properly.

In the evening, after a tiring day when the school got over he went back to his home. After spending few hours in front of the television at night, he saw a horror film, which scared him a lot. Therefore, he called up Albert for a night stay in his house.

It was a foggy night of Saturday with cold breezes.

Around 9:00 PM, Albert reached Robert’s home in his car. He rang the doorbell and waited for some time.

Robert opened the door and they both went inside.

After that, they dined together, opened the computer and started playing games on it.

They spent 2-3 hours playing games and fell asleep, as they were entirely exhausted.

When they woke up the next morning, they saw that the computer was still on.

Robert switched off the
