Once upon a time, a girl was lost in the City of New York. She had come with her mom to see a play, but the girl had let go of her mom’s hand and now was lost.

She went to a cop and told him, and he said, “How can I help?” She told him her mom had red hair and blue eyes, a dark gray coat, and a tan shoe on each foot.

The cop said, “Ah.” He went with her to look up and down the road, but no one with red hair and a dark gray coat was to be seen.

The girl told him she’d cry if her mom was gone too long. So the cop got his cop-dog, Rex. The girl gave Rex a pat on the head. Rex used his nose and went down the road with them. Soon they came to a door. On the door was a sign that said, “Tea Shop.”

They went in and the girl saw her mom. She had a big tear on her face as she said to the lady in the shop, “I don’t know how to find my girl! Help me!”

“Mom!” The girl ran to her and the mom said, “My love!”

Hugs and a big kiss came next, and the mom and her girl gave the cop a big kiss, too, then they went to see the play.

The End
