Young Heart

If somebody would of told me 5 years ago I would be at a place where I'm at I would of never believed them. It's like somethings a person just can't control. When your young you do dumb things for love, you look dumb for love. I had to grow up because the situation i was in it made me grow up. I'm not the same young dumb bitch I was so long ago. I'm much older and much wiser now, besides I have to set an example for my daughter Ki'airy. I dont want her to think that having a man use and abuse her feelings is where it's at. Thanks to her father Kaylin (better known as Buck) she will never be in the area to even touch that type of hurt from no fucking man.

So let me talk to you about what I been through and possibly where I'm going with this.

Chapter One (5 Years Ago)

Dad said "A'maira get up and go to the store I need the butter for dinner." I sighed, I really didn't want to go but I had to who else was going to go. My older brother O'mari was out running the streets so he was barely at home with Dad and I. I answered, "Ok Daddy I'm getting up." My father been taking care of O'mari and I since my Mother died giving birth to me 17 years ago. It's not a day that goes by that I don't miss her even though I never knew her. I always sit and wonder what she's like or how she would of been if she still was here.

I slowly slipped on my Polo boots and my Polo sweater with the hat taken my sweet time. I really dreaded my neighborhood, the only thing out there was hood niggas and corner thugs. My Daddy did the worst possible thing by moving us to Irvington, one of the worst parts of New Jersey besides Newark. I walked in the kitchen to my Dad using garlic and the last of the butter on the string beans he was making for dinner. I stood back for a second and admired my Dad.

My Daddy Bee Ramirez (yes that's his real name) was the descent of Puerto Rican and Indian. He stood about 6'1 weighing in at 230 pounds solid muscle. He owned smooth skin the color of butterscotch candy, curly dark black slick hair, and light gray eyes that changed depending on his mood. My Daddy was the thuggish but quiet type, you wouldn't be able to tell unless you seen all his tattoos he had. But overall he was a gentleman with a caring heart, mainly because I'm his baby girl and he didn't play with me.

He went inside of his True Religion jeans and passed me a 20. Daddy spoke, "Get me some butter, A1 sauce, and a lemonade strawberry Arizona. Get you something too and come back" I started towards the door and started making my way down the steps. For now we were living on Grace St off of Clintoon Ave. As usual I was making my way down the street stopping traffic and getting attention from the neighborhood dudes. Personally I didn't care all that attention shit it did nothing for me. I wasn't one of these girls you saw in my town starving from attention I wanted to go places with my life and a nigga couldn't do nothing but hold me up.

"Ayo A'maira! " I heard my name being called, but I kept on walking. He spoke again, "I know you heard me A'maira! " At that point I started to get annoyed because we went through this everyday and he just didn't get it. I sneered, "What Buck?! What I tell you about bothering me? " Buck stepped off the porch smiling a hard smile like today was his lucky day. He was what you would call a typical hood star, popular with the bitches and we'll respected by the niggas. Buck smiled, "I can't help it girl I want you. Can't you see that baby girl? " I laughed, "Nigga please you got all these thots pick one and stop messing with me. " I made my statement walking off but he just started walking beside me aggravating me further.

I'm not going to lie Buck was some eye candy to look at. Buck stood about 6'1, weighing about 215 pounds of pure muscle, chocolate smooth skin, sleepy brown eyes, sporting a goatee, and dreads that reached the middle of his back that was always neatly done and shaped up. On his body all he rocked was True Religion, Truck fit, Gucci, Prada, Polo, and Tim's. Being as though he was 24 I didn't wanna get into him I have my life and he has his.

I hit the corner store on Clinton Ave at record time grabbing the stuff and some snacks for me. Out the corner of my eye I watched Buck talking to some big booty light skinned chick. Quietly I paid for my stuff and slipped outta the store with my things. Halfway down the block I heard someone jogging up behind me. He whispered, " I want you A'maira and one day you going to be mine" I waived him off as he went back to chill with his niggas on the porch. No man, boy, or anybody for that matter stepped on my porch my father was well respected but he also wasn't to be taken lightly either.

I called out, "Daddy im back, " He was still in the kitchen this time cooking his steak and stirring his rice. Daddy asked, "Did you do your homework? " I answered, "You know I did Daddy that's covered already. " He smiled, "Okay dinner will be ready soon. " I sat back in the livingroom and turned on the 55 inch screen plasma TV and flipped to videos.

My Daddy made sure we lived comfortably. We lived in a two family house which consisted of upstairs and downstairs. The 3 bedroom apartment was laid out in earth tone colors green leaf, beige, chocolate, and pumpkin patch colors. Every room was decked out with flat screen plasma TVs and a king size bed. My room was fit for a queen, my room was a very light purple, purple wall to wall carpet, light purple drapes, a large king size sleigh bed with steps, I even had a full bathroom in my room. My Daddy worked as a mechanic but also a construction worker so he made good money to take care of us.

Interrupting my thoughts O'mari walked in. He said, "Wassup Lil sis" I answered, "Nothing, " I stared at my brother he look just like my Daddy same build and height he just had some light green eyes. Every girl went crazy over him but I just saw him as older annoying O'mari. He went into the kitchen talking to my father as I flipped through the channels waiting for dinner. Daddy called out, "Come eat its time for dinner" We went into the dining room area following my father. On the table was marinated steak, garlic string beans, white rice, and rolls. We said grace then proceeded to eat our dinner. Daddy asked, "So O'mari I know you went out looking for a job today? " O'mari was busy stuffing his face but he nodded. "Yea Pops, " He muttered with food in his mouth. I sat quietly and ate dinner I was just ready to go bed and it was already after 8pm.

Once we finished eating I cleaned up the kitchen and went to take a shower. I stepped out and admired my body I was blessed. I stood about 4'8, weighing about 125, nice supple 36 d's, flat tummy, nice round hips with a ghetto booty to match, I had long black shiny hair that stopped in the middle of my back, gray cat like eyes, full pink lips, and two cheeks with the deepest dimples you could swim in. I think God broke the mold when he made me. I said my prayers and laid down to go get some sleep.

The next morning I woke up to my father voice above my head. He said, "Get up A'maira we all running late" I checked my clock it was 8:15am I had to be to school in 15 minutes. I jumped outta bed like I had fire ants on me running to the bathroom. I was late I didn't have time for a shower this morning so I just washed quickly. I threw my uniform on which consisted of a white button down collar shirt, beige pleated shirt, royal blue cardigan, white knee high stockings, and my royal blue Polo loafers. I threw my long hair in a ponytail and grabbed my Hollister backpack and ran out the door.

Speed walking down the street I bumped right into Buck getting out of his car. Buck smiled, "Good morning Ma, " I said, "Move I'm already late for school, " I was trying hard not to stare but he was looking good in his white tight v-neck that hugged his muscles, True Religion jeans, and Polo boots. He said, "I can see that I know you go to Bloomfield Tech and from the look of it if you wait and catch the bus you going to be really late." I sighed because he was right but I didn't want to tell him that. I finally answered, "Okay you can take me. " Buck smiled like he just won a million dollars. Like a gentleman he opened the door to his shiny black Dodge Charger for me as he ran around to the driver side. For the first few minutes the ride was quiet.

Buck asked, "So when you going to be mine A'maira? " Slowly I shook my head he just didn't get it. I sternly said, "Look it's not that I don't find you attractive you are but I want my life together. I'm in my last year of school and I'm going to college after I don't want a man taken me off my square." Buck answered, "I'm all for your education A'maira. You must of judged a book by its cover not even knowing I graduated top of my class in Irvington High." I was kinda taken back because I didn't even know that. I whispered, "I didn't know Buck I'm sorry," He smiled at me letting me know he wasn't mad at all. Before I knew it we were in front of my school. Buck suggested, "How about this weekend I take you on a date?" I muttered, "I don't know Buck, " He interrupted, "I thought you said you wanted to say sorry, ". I thought for a minute what type of harm could it be. I finally answered, "Okay I'll see you this weekend."

He kissed my cheek as I jumped out running towards my school. I had alot to think about with Buck, their wasn't an attraction but maybe just maybe I could learn to get along with him. The rest of my school day was type quick and for that I was glad. Once school let out I went to Ihop to pick me up some food to go.

When I did make it back to my block it was well after 5pm. I made it to my house without being harassed by Buck, my brother wasn't even home. I took a hot shower and did my homework in record time. I warmed up my food and ate alone, I didn't worry about Daddy he always came home late and he would probably have ate already. I sat comfortably in my boyshorts and wife beater watching TV in the living room when my door bell sounded.

Personally I didn't know who that was because I wasn't expecting nobody, O'mari had a key even he said he would be home late. But instead I opened the door to Buck standing on my doorstep. I asked, "What you want Buck? " He was kind of stuck standing there seeing me looking like this in my underclothes. He asked, "Can I come in A'maira? " I laughed he must of been asking for some type of death wish. I sarcastically said, "You do know about my Dad right? I can't just let you up in here Buck. " He sincerely said, "I'm just checking on you because I know your here alone, " I raised my brow this boy was nuts I'm always here alone and I never have problems. I said, "I'm fine Buck I'm on my way to bed. My Dad and brother should be home soon though okay. " He look like a sad puppy but oh well what could I do. Slowly he kissed my cheek and left, I closed the door and went upstairs so that I could lay down for sleep because I did have school in the morning.

Chapter Two

Saturday came here fast, really I dreaded it because even though I said it I really didn't want to go anywhere. But all week Buck was so pressing so I just gave in. This week my Daddy was outta town in NYC doing last minute work on a construction site. O'mari was at some bitch house so I was here alone it was already after 5pm and Buck was coming at 6:30pm.

Before I knew it the time flew, I put on Mary J Blige Share My World album and started running my bath water putting bubbles and bath salts in them. I stripped outta my clothes and slowly sat in the bath. "Share my world don't you leave, promise I'll be here whenever you need me near" I sang along with MJB. Once I soaked for 30 minutes I got out.

I dried off putting on Coconut Dream by Victoria Secret spraying myself also. Then I put on a red lace bra and boyshorts set admiring my body in the mirror. Next I pulled out my outfit to where, it was a chilly November night. I decided to wear a simple off the shoulder sweater that had a soft pumpkin patch color, skin tight blue denim skinny jeans, a pair of brand new black pumpkin color Polo boots, and black clutch. I put my hair in a part straight down, and my diamond jewelry set.

By the time I finish it was a quarter to 7. I just knew I wasn't gonna have a goodtime. Just as I was thinking I heard the car horn sound. Peaking out the window I saw Buck stepping out in a different car. This car was a 2 door black on black Acura Legend with black tinted windows.

He was sporting a dark denim True Religion Jean jacket, a white True Religion shirt with black words, dark denim blue True Religion jeans, dark blue tall Polo Boots, a True Religion hat, and his dreads swinging. I left a note for my father and pulled one shoulder down on my shirt.

When I stepped out my doors Buck mouth hit the floor. I stepped in front of his car he
