Polly and the flowers

Polly was a very beautiful, but very spoiled princess. Everybody called her Pretty Polly and she loved this nickname very much. Because her mother had died a long time ago, her father had made the mistake of spoiling her. Polly was his only child, his pretty little daughter and he wanted to give everything that he had to her, and even more.

At the early age of four she was in charge of the whole castle. She bossed the servants around and never had a nice word for anybody. Her teachers often left because they couldn`t stand her anymore.

"This kid has the evil eye!" they would say and storm out of the castle after only a few days.

The King didn`t want to face the truth und convinced himself that Polly was just a stubborn child and that her rudeness would just be a phase that would go away sooner or later. But her behaviour got worse and worse. Soon nobody wanted to work in the castle anymore. Even the horses were afraid of Polly and only the wildest pony was still her friend. She took that pony for a ride through the woods every morning and came home late at night.  She felt free like the wind and didn`t want to stick to any rules.
