Samuel understood that he is full of anxiety and despair with no meaning
in his life. He thought that he is just simply existing. He made a decisive
choice about his own future.He realized that this is the only way to achieve
the dignity as a human being.
He understood that he is only a limited human being.
Thus, he had to face important and difficult decisions .He needed time
in which to make his decisions, a series of decisions that must be made
with no way of knowing what the correct choices really are..
He had to decide what is true and what is false; what is
right and what is wrong; which beliefs to accept and which to reject;
what to do and what not to do.
He realized that his life is so meaningless and absurd.
Most people believe that they can make themselves feel a certain way, can
think themselves into a different mood. But he discovered that he only ,as
a simple person ,cannot direct, but he can only influence his emotional life.
He cannot by himself to love the right mate, to want the right thing,
or to be happy after a sad event.
He can castigate himself for his failure ,when his emotion cannot be commanded.
