Norway
(Verse 1)
I heard the reports and I could not believe my ears,
I saw the pictures and I could not believe my eyes,
I read the lines and I wanted to give no credence to the words,
I left the room and I could not understand what had happened.
I got up and sadly I walked along the streets,
I looked into the eyes of the people I met,
I realized some were upset, some were indifferent,
Many of them were tired or rushed or uninterested.
(Chorus)
How could all this happen?
Why so many people had to die?
Why did the hate rule the brain of this man?
Was there no love, no mercy, no compassion in his heart?
(Verse 2)
Despaired and dismayed I watched the reports on TV.
I saw the silent tears in the eyes of the bereaved.
I heard the terrible words of the survivors.
I saw the blood-soaked white sheets on the bodies of the victims.
They showed us the face of the cold-blooded murderer.
We all could see the friendly smile of a peaceful man.
His eyes could see that he would kill innocent people?
Did he know how much pain he would bring about Norway?
(Chorus)
How could all this happen?
Why so many people had to die?
Why did the hate rule the brain of this man?
Was there no love, no mercy, no compassion in his heart?
(Bridge)
We all need to wake up before it's too late
Don´t let the hatred reign your brain,
Let love decide in your heart,
Wake up, before it´s too late.
(Chorus)
How could all this happen?
Why so many people had to die?
Why did the hate rule the brain of this man?
Was there no love, no mercy, no compassion in his heart?
