Lost Love

It had been two years now, since Eileen Summers relationship ended with Jonah Evans. She felt like her heart was broken to a million pieces. Jonah was the man she was going to spend the rest of her life with; or so she thought. She thought they would have been married by now; especially since they were together for 13 years. Thinking he was the man she would grow old with.

She felt something was up with with him when he began withdrawing from her. He never seemed interested in communicating with her any longer. Instead he just locked himself in another room ignoring her and locking her out of his life. Eileen thought it was just a rocky phase in their relationship, and hoped for it to pass. Unfortunately, it didn’t. It reached to the point one night, when she asked him why he is ignoring her and he yelled.

“I’m not in love with you anymore.”

She was devastated by this and tried to beg him not to break up with her, but at the point she knew they were over for good. She felt so lost and alone since then. She didn’t know what to do except to cry, and ask why he stopped loving her. He refused to answer. He just became angrier when she tried to push it further; just to get an answer, cause she felt she had a right to know. Feeling so lost and confused, she became depressed, and cried night and day. ‘The only way to deal with my pain, is to drink,’ she thought. Wine was her favorite poison when feeling depressed. Every now and again she bought a bottle of wine. when she can afford it. Soon she was tiresome of the arguing and finally moved out. She found a place living with former College students in a house near the lake.

Eileen never had much money, and always struggled financially. She didn’t have much College in her life to say, she could find work, so she tried other ways to make extra money; like background extra’s work and she enjoyed it very much, but it was long before she met Jonah. Now she was stuck with retail work. It was work she never cared for, but it was all she could get, and it only last a little over a year. She wasn’t even getting many hours at all. Coming toward the end of the year she was only working one day a week for three hours. They kept saying, “There’s not enough hours for everyone right now.”

She continued dealing with her emotional struggles from her former relationship and financially. For awhile she tried online dating to get her mind of her ex; thinking it was the only way to get past him. She had one rebound, and two one night stands. Neither helped much, until she adopted her cat Hazel; a cream color cat who was very active and a bit hyper, but she loved this cat no matter what. It was not long afterward he dropped Amethyst over, her other cat of cinnamon color and green eyes; which kept her busy for awhile introducing the two girls. They were her only companions, and she became quite contend with that.

‘Maybe someday love with find me again. Maybe, someone would sweep me off my feet and treat me like a queen, and maybe I will never have my heart broken to a million pieces again.’ She thought to herself - trying to be hopeful again.
