The day was bright with a little chill in the air -- which was expected for the month of October, and everyone in Woodlands Forest that day, were rushing about to get their costumes ready for the Halloween party at the end of the month.
Bunny Hopkins was strolling through the busy forest, just admiring all the decoration spread out all through the forest. There were skeletons, ghosts, and bats hanging from the trees of the forest courtyard, where the party was going to be. He was still thinking about what his costume would be.
He had no idea what he wanted to be, and he was running out of time. ‘What am I going to do? I need to make my decision soon, so that I will have time to make my costume before the party,’ he thought anxiously. Bunny just couldn’t come up with anything no matter how much he thought about it.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, one of his friends jumped in front of him from behind a tree. It was Mickey the mouse. He was dressed up as a zombie bumble bee, and boy did he scare the pants off of Bunny. Mickey seemed so proud of his costume, and he should be. You could tell that he put a lot of work into it.
“How do you like my costume Bunny,” asked Mickey with excitement in his little mousy voice.
“It looks great,” replied Bunny sadly.
“What’s the matter Bunny,” asked Mickey, now realizing that Bunny was feeling down in the dumps.
“I can’t decide what I want to be for Halloween.” Bunny paused for a moment and then asked, “Do you think you can help me, Mickey?”
Bunny knew that Mickey always have great ideas, especially when it comes to thinking up ones for
costumes.
“Sure.” Mickey then paused to think for a moment before he added, “Well, you can always be Disco
Dracula.”
Bunny laughed at the thought, and said, “Disco Dracula. Now that is silly. That is just too silly.”
“Yeah, but it’s different. It’s always good to be different.”
“True, and I do love being different.” Bunny then thought about it some more, and replied, “You know what? That is a great idea, Mickey. It may just work. Do you think you can help me make the costume?”
“Of course I will Bunny. You know I love making costumes. I would be delighted to help.”
By the end of the week, Bunny’s costume was made. Just in time for the party. The pant and vest was all in black satin with a silk frilly shirt underneath, and the cape was also made of satin with purple rhinestones all through the seams. He even had a pair of platform boots to fit his bunny feet to match the costume very well.
When Bunny showed up at the party a few days later, everyone at the party complimented him on his
costume. He was even given, a box of carrots for winning the costume contest.
