Prologue

Hello there, my name is Nick and I am the Author of this book. Well not really I only listened to the tape and wrote down what I heard. Basically I found an odd parcel at my doorstep from a friend from the outback, he told me that he had found a tape recorder with a message on it and that I might like to hear it. So there it was. There was a letter tied to the tape which I opened and read. As I read my eyes felt like they were flying out of there sockets. The letter stated that;

Hello my name is Zoe and as of this moment my story and the stories of my allies are yours to do what you want with. Feel free to listen and laugh, but at any point if you feel something awakening inside of you or weird things start happening then stop reading immediately. Trust me on this you don’t want our story to be yours, but if you know this story as your own then hide and pray that we find you first.

As I said earlier I wanted to help get this knowledge out so here I am, please read on with care for these warnings should not be taken lightly. There is many perspectives in this book so I will try and tell you who is speaking.

Chapter 1: Zoe Riber

-Zoe-

Friday the 18th of October was a day like anyway for me, the weather in London, unpredictable as always, had decided it was going to be a wet and foggy day. How was I to know that my world was about to be turned upside down. I was of cause was wearing my favorite cloths, a navy hoodie and jeans with some black sneakers in case I needed to run somewhere. I had just finished school as usual and had already said goodbye to my friends Lucy and April before heading off to my bus stop, contemplating what I was going to do for the rest of my weekend. As usual I walked off the main road and followed a path across some back alleyways to get to a park, about two blocks away from my bus stop. I always loved this park because of the silence and openness I felt when I walked around it. I always had a couple of minutes to kill before my bus arrived, so I would sit in the park and just think.

I was walking over to my normal waiting spot deep in thought about the weird thing that had happened to me earlier that day. It was just after my second break and I was running a bit late, so Lucy (who was also running late) and I were running full pelt to our next class hoping not to be late when I bumped in to a upperclassmen of ours, he was 18 dressed in a cool casual black T-shirt and some black jeans. It happened that when Lucy and I brushed past him in a narrow pathway. Seeing as I didn't want him to be hurt I looked over my shoulder to see if he was ok. The sight that greeted me was one I thought I would never see. His face was the most handsome face I had ever seen. Normally black hair and brown eyes is pretty ordinary but somehow he made it work, it was as if god himself had blessed him this beauty. Maybe because it was only a glance but even though he was handsome his eyes looked like those of a wolf that had just found his next pray. Needless to say I didn't stop charging after Lucy.

Throughout the rest of the day I didn't get much time to think about the mysterious person. So that`s why I was in deep thought about him now. I wasn’t even paying attention to the things around me, so it came as a surprise when the guy I was thinking about appeared standing in-front of me. Thankfully my reflexes save me from a very awkward moment. The boy stood still and smiled a beautiful smile at me, showing of his perfect white teeth before saying "Hello there my name is James Hallwood." It took me a moment to figure out that the beautiful silky voice had come from the handsome man in-front of my. Still recovering from the shock of his voice I muttered a weak "h.... hi. Seeing my slow and suspicious response he did the last thing I expected, he laughed. Again showing off his amazing white teeth before saying in a cheerful tone “Hey now no need to be scared, I`m not going to hurt you.” Looking into his big brown eyes almost void like and listening to his silk smooth voice finally broke me down, my mind clouded over and my reactions became slow. He smiled again, pulling me deeper into the void, my mind barely making thought processes. As if seeing his opportunity he asked me his next question "Now love I have been kind enough to tell you my name what might yours be? “With a startled thought I realized that my mouth was moving on its own, replying to his question. I tried to stop myself but I had no control over my mouth or body movements, so I began my sentence with a sense of dread "Well James my name is Zo..."Just as I was about to finish I heard a loud popping sound from behind my, causing my  to stop and look towards the direction of the sound.

What greeted me blew my mind away, standing there in the cold and wet afternoon was a boy in a singlet, board shorts and sandals. It must have been 8 degrees but there he was with his little toes sticking out. With this amazing scene playing out in-front of my, my mind finally caught up. My mind became clear breaking whatever spell James had put on my. I was going to knock his lights out but just then the boy spoke "Blimey! James! Why of all the places you could of hitchhiked to you pick this place!" the new comer said in his weird slightly Irish accent before continuing "and further more do you know how much trouble you have caused me!?"The boy started walking towards my, as I heard James behind my whimper; yes whimper like a dog being caught red handed try to steal some food. Sadly James quickly accessed his options and the whimper suddenly turned into a howl. It started off sounding like a human but as he continued it became much deeper, until his features started to change. His jet black hair changed gray and it started growing at an abnormal rate, he crouched down onto his hands and knees and right before my eyes grew two ears on top of his head. What was the most surprising were James eyes, normally void like where sharp and piercing. “Don’t play dumb James we don't have the time for this, the enforcers will be here any minute." James just snarled. “Fine, have it your way but you know how this is going to end" stated the boy (still in his summer weather gear!)

-Zoe's View-

The boy started running straight at James who immediately started running at the boy, their bodies collided with punches thrown, and sometimes even a bite from James! At the start of the battle it looked like James had the upper hand but somehow couldn’t damage the blond haired boy. He was just too fast even with James half-wolf form. After a while of dodging and punches it soon came apparent that James was tiring faster than the other boy. James threw in a last ditch effort and went for a massive bite at the boy, surprised the boy didn’t realized until James was right on top of him. The battle was at an end, there was no way that the boy could move fast enough to dodge this attack... But to my amazement just before James connected the attack the boy moved faster than I could comprehend, punching James in the chest and knocking him out with his follow up of a left hook. THUD, THUD. James wasn't getting up from that one.

"Finally that's over" the boy said aloud. As if just realizing I was there he walked over to me and said " Hello there darling, I`m awfully sorry to ask about this but did you perhaps see my buddy here (pointing at James in the grass) do his you know hair growing retinue? “At that point I probably should of run or said something like no, what did your buddy do? But being me I just stared. “I’m going to take that as a yes, well congratulations you are now a part of the small group of people in this word who know about the magical things that normal people aren't meant to see." At which point there was another deathly loud pop from across the park, and to my amazement I saw a group of adults running towards me and the boy. They were dressed in full black army uniforms with Kevlar vests. On their shoulders were an army logo should of been all I could see was a red Teutonic cross. I wasn’t scared of them at first because I knew my rights as a British citizen. Sadly that false sense of security didn’t last as I looked at their faces. They were all scared and had veteran looking eyes, cold as ice. They defiantly weren’t there before. Not to mention the focus of my eye bulging, they had guns...

I was still staring at their m4`s and A.U.Gs when boy breathed a curse under his breath something about drop bears dining on their brains. After his little rant he said staring at me "looks like there isn't time to explain, just give me your hand after I fetch James". Without asking if I was ok with this he picked up James and flung him over his shoulder. I didn't fully trust this boy but the adults running towards me looked a lot meaner and less friendly, so I took his hand just as he pulled out a small white gem. “To Paradise cave" he preached as he crushed the gem...

And

Everything

Went

Sideways.

Chapter 2: Recovery and Explanations

Still Zoe's View-

I woke in a pile of comfy leaves, in cave somewhere I had never been before but felt safe and secure in its embrace. As I regained my thoughts I realized that the cave was lit up by crystals littered all over the place, the sound of running water greeted me as my ears adjusted. With my brain finally working properly I pushed myself onto my feet, still a bit shaken by what had just happened. The sight that greeted me took my breath away. It was the calmest and peaceful place I had been. There was a waterfall running down the side of the cave, pouring into a crystal blue lake, which supported life to the animals and plants around me. The crystal lights reflected the water all across the room creating by a sort of peaceful watery glow to everything. Just I had almost finished my 360 of the cave I heard a massive splash from the crystal blue lake behind me. I turned around to see a boy with blond hair sticking out of the water, just as he started walking out of the lake. For the first time since I had met him I finally got a proper look at him. He had blonde hair with the tips of the hair dark orange, stormy grey eyes and an impish sort of face. As he walked out of the water I realized he was still his board shorts but this time without his singlet and sandals on. I was stunned to see a slim slightly ripped body. "Ow good you’re awake, it usually takes people another day to come around" the boy exclaimed casually as he walked over to me.

"I'm guessing you’re going to have a lot of questions you want answered so give me a second to get myself something to drink out of.” He paused to think before continuing with “and I’m guessing you want a drink as well.

I tried to say yes but all that came out of me was a dry croak. He smiled "don’t push yourself to hard, the effects of the stone are still wearing off so don’t try to do anything for the next hour of so." As he said this warning I realized he was right, just standing still made me want to hurl and a wave of dizziness blew over me. Luckily seeing me nearly ready to collapse he picked me up in his arms and softly carried me to a secret cave behind the waterfall, all the while singing a soothing song that lessened my pain. He put me in a bed and promised to answer my questions later as soon as I had gotten some more rest, but I didn’t even hear the last part as I was already asleep.

When I next woke up my vision was a little bit cloudy but I had regained movement in all my body parts, albeit they were a bit stiff. I slowly raised my head off the pillow and looked around the small cave that had hosted my recovery. It was a quaint little place with a cooking fire off to one side in a little enclave, there was also a bead door leading to another room. What caught my attention the most was a table in the middle of the room, on top of the table I saw a small dinner of some fish and vegetable soup and some bread on a side plate. I realized with a start that it was the delicious foods smell that had disturbed my sleep. I slowly crawled out of the cozy bed and using the cave walls as support made my way over to the meal that had been set aside for me.

As I sat down in the soft wooden and leather chair I realized that I had lost track of time whilst I was asleep, I wondered if my friends had realized what had happened to me. That brought a long needed smile to my face, the thought of Lucy or April thinking this crazy adventure up.

"What are you smirking about" said a voice coming from behind me, I turn around to see the boy who had taken care of me siting in a chair against the far wall (the chair was placed in a place that couldn’t be seen from the bedroom).

"Ow nothing" I reply. The boy stands up and brings the chair across to the other side of the table.

"So now that you’re awake and not falling over or feeling like you’re going to puke" He gave me a look of sympathy "we should probably get into what this is all about."

He looks at me as if there was anything I really wanted to know off the bat.

"Ok Mr. Know-it-all I want to know your name, why I’m here, how I’m here and how magic came to be."

"well little miss questions; my name is Daniel or Danny for short, your here because you saw something you were never meant to see, I used a warp stone to transport us into a half-world called Enthrall Earth and the last question will take me some time to answer."

Still a little surprised he could think of all of that and still have the order of my questions, but not to be beat I said with a huff " It doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere for a while so why don’t you start."

I was about to continue our verbal war when my stomach made its complaint of sensing food but I wasn`t eating. "You have been under for two days and I tried to force feed you but you weren’t having any of it. Eat while I talk, you can ask questions but please don’t starve yourself."

Chapter 3: -- A Long Time Ago --

Sixteen years ago there was a solar eclipse that instead of reliving the suns secrets reviled something much more serious. It was said that anyone who looked upon the sun at that time saw different images; they saw desert lush forests, mountains and other images. So from that day on people start appearing everywhere around the world, people with powers that no-one had ever even thought of before. Now being in contact with these people also will increase the chance that your magic would appear. The human race realizing that some of the people who had gotten powers weren’t that well..." he paused "that sane. “So the unpowered humans decided that, to keep the peace the powered people would be 'executed' if they didn’t follow rules that had being set in place by the normal humans." He paused as he let me take this in, "so what I’m saying is that the people who were running towards us were these law enforcers. Now normally they wouldn’t dare attack you but..." as if deciding whether or not to tell me something, making his decision he said "you kind of might have magical powers inside you because you saw magic. It increases the chance that your powers will arrive."

He was about to continue but I started talking " so what your telling me is that I will have these super magical powers like turning into a wolf or something like that?"

"Well not always" he replied “but it is very likely" he seemed like he wasn't telling me the whole story. "Anyway the thing is you can join these people if you want to but I wouldn’t recommend it, it’s like being a dog on a leash with no freedom." He stared off into a wall as if remembering all too well what that was like.

We continued talking into the night, me asking questions about the worlds how things were created and just magical things in general. I was extremely interested in the idea of getting a magical power, maybe invisibility, or super speed, I didn't know but I was very excited about it.

After talking for a bit more an opening came across for question which I had been pondering for some time just as he remarked that "it was getting late and we should probably rest because we would be moving out tomorrow morning."

"Ok I have two more questions than I will go to bed" I comprised.

"Question One where is James if that’s his real name and two why did he choose me?" Just as I finished asking him these questions his eyes dropped from mine, for some reason he wouldn’t look at me.

"Well" he started slowly "James, yes that is his real name is currently hunting in a forest near this cave and well... for the reason he chose you is well.." he paused " Wolfs are very loyal animals but they need to mate to reproduce like any animals so yea." he finished as he finally looked me straight into my eyes.

Thankfully the darkness covered my reddening face. "Ok I think we should go to bed now, it’s late" he stated as he stood up and walked out of the cave.

I didn’t argue, I was embarrassed about his last answer so I went to bed trying to forget what I had just learned, unfortunately for me my dreams didn’t want to let me forget that little bit of information I had learned.

Chapter 4: Real explanations

Danny's perspective

Later that night when I knew that Zoe had gone to sleep I crept out of my improvised bed, Paradise Cove was meant as a healing station. This station was built so that patient could heal without the trouble of the outside world. Sadly there was only one bed so the doctor got the bad end of the deal. As I walked quietly past the bedroom where the new girl, Zoe was sleeping. Man she posed some really embarrassing questions. Anyway I need to get to James; he had some things to straighten out.

As I walked out of the cave I watched as the cave which usually had activity moving everywhere from the fish in the lake to the animals trotting around was silent unless you included the firefly’s which were flying everywhere, illuminating the cavern. Down by the water, near the spot I had put Zoe so she could breathe in the healing aroma created by the healing lake and the forests scent, was a small compact wooden shack built. From my position near the mouth of the cave I could see that there was a dwindling light coming from inside the shack.

I slowly made my way down the rocks, partly not to make any noise that could wake up our very own sleeping beauty and partly because I didn’t want to wake any of the animals that needed there sleep. After many days of living there I had grown the knowledgeable of which stones would be slippery and which wouldn't.

I crawled down the rocks and went to visit James As I approached his newly made home I saw a small green light fading and the growing stronger in four second intervals, giving a pulsing visual effect. I could smell a small scent of mint and another substance I didn’t recognize. James was apparently awake and using magic to craft something. I quietly knocked on the door, and after I heard a grunt of acknowledgment I pushed back the door and walked in. The smell hit me hard, making my eyes water. Even after being a part of magic for a couple of years I couldn’t get over how powerful some of these scents are when they a mixed with magic. As my eyes cleared I saw there was a small fire going in the center of the room, with some rocks around it to stop the shack to go up in a blaze of glory. There was a couple small fur skins inside the hut to offer more comfortable seating and there was a welcoming them to the building.

"So what brings you to my humble abode? James voice snapped me back to reality.

"I`m just here because I want to know why you really chose this girl, she’s nice but isn’t the prettiest girl around so why did you choose here?" I asked bluntly ignoring his almost high and mighty attitude.

It took a full minute of my prosecuting glare to finally get him to talk. "It’s the animals" he said as if it explained everything.

"What do you mean it’s the animals?" I asked even though I knew what he meant.

"Don’t play dumb Dan you saw it as clear as day as much I did, she heals faster than anyone I know, the animals were all guarding her while she was unconscious. Hell, it took all my reasoning to let you and me near her. She couldn`t have mind controlled all of those animals. She must be a very interesting girl for one of the mighty four to take her under their wing. The real question is which of the four?"

I just stood not bothering to breath, if we both had come to the same conclusion then we both couldn`t have been wrong. This Girl was someone who would change the world, for better or for worse.

Things just got a lot more interesting.

Chapter 5: The Flower Field

The next morning Zoe seemed to have recovered from here first time warping. So the group of three moved decided to move out of the healing station. After all the Enforcers had already sent there attack dogs (people who had powers but sided with the normal humans) after the group. This healing station would soon be overrun; it was only a matter of time. Even though they all knew they needed to move, they all felt remorse leaving this cave It hadn`t been for long but it was a home, a home they would probably never see again. James finally confronted Zoe and what went down was something like an awkward dance, neither of them knowing how to proceed until they just forgave each other. Well they forgave each other after the kick in the balls of cause, he deserved that.

-Zoe-

I had nothing to really do while I waited for the others to be ready; I tried helping Danny and James pack our bags but it was abruptly ended when two magical stones I was packing rubbed against each other creating a small, but very powerful explosion. I was now officially banded from magic until I knew what I was doing. So here I was stumbling around the forest seeing if I could find anything interesting to pass the time when I came across a clearing there were many different plants everywhere. There were; Roses, Violets, Daisy's and many other beautiful flowers, all the colors of the rainbow were represented. It was a harmony of plants. In the very middle there was a girl planting a pure white flower. She was cute in a tom boyish way she was; about my age, with rough brown hair, which must have constantly be falling across my face but she seemed to find it amusing. She was wearing a green shirt and some army green jeans. She wore no shoes and you could see my little feet as she moved around the flower, protecting and adding water and other things I didn’t realize.

"I won’t bite, don’t be afraid I am a friend" I heard her say; clearly she knew I had been watching her for some time.

"Who are you?" I stated bluntly.

She did not seem offended and simply stood up and turned around to me, showing me her dark milky grey eyes and impish features. "I am merely a messenger, now could you please help I plant the winds flower?"

She didn't seem to be that threatening, I easily had a thirty centimeters height advantage on her. Knowing that if I ran back to Dan and James telling them of this girl without any proper information they would probably not belief me. After all I was new here and didn’t know a person form a tree spirt.

"Contemplating won’t get this wind flower planted, now are you going to help me or not?" she asked almost sarcastically.

Making my decision I walked over to her and knelt down beside her. As I sat down beside her I smelt a mixture of aromas that gave told me this girl had worked in the soil for most of her life. She easily calculated the hole to die, how much water and what substances were needed to get the best out of the flower. As we worked she started singing a song in a language I had heard once before. It made me think of the beautiful flowers and the days when I could sit in the park after school, forgetting about all my troubles and just listening to nature’s wondrous noises. Before I even knew it my hands were working on their own, letting my mind take in the memories and tune of the song. Strangely this song didn’t force these memories on me but let me think of them myself.

"You have a very beautiful memories, I`m sorry for interrupting but it is time for you to go back to your friends, but if I could offer one piece of advice I would tell you to remember your routes when people judge you. The hunters will guide you down the correct path but it is your decision if you want to be the hero of your own story." said the strange lady. She gave me a beautiful smile which made her seemingly glow.

"Will I see you again?" I asked, seeing me distraught about losing someone else she relied with "If the Wind blows our paths together again. I will do everything in my power to help you in your quest. My Lady knew of your arrival so she has sent some help, The Thunder Price should be on his way.

Suddenly as if something didn’t want me to speak anymore, there was a massive explosion in the distance. It was so startling that I stood up and started running out of the flower field.

I took one last look over my shoulder to see the girl nowhere to be seen but a message burned into the rock near the plant we had just planted, it read: Your flames of Life will reshape this world. The Peace I had felt moments ago was replaced with fear. Fear of the world I had stumbled into.

chapter 6: Breachers

The Forest blurred by as I ran towards the sound of Explosions, the trees threw their branches out towards me, wiping my arms and legs. I didn't stop knowing that every second counted. The forest seemed to gain in density, the trees seemed more hostile then they had been before. Even as I was running the image of the flower garden was being removed from my conscious thought, stored in the back of my mind. The explosions were gaining in volume and force. I finally felt the small shockwaves from the explosions. Just as I felt this I saw light at the end of my own tunnel, the trees seemed to relent. They opened up to the healing cavern. It was a war zone, there were rocks everywhere. The once beautiful scenery now looked like it had been hit by a hydrogen bomb. The water from the lake kept having miniature waves rippling over it. The seemed to have run off to find shelter from the private war that had erupted into the cavern. In the middle of this living hell were Dan and James fighting twenty people with their backs up against each other’s back protecting each other’s flanks. These attackers were the armed people that had I had encountered when I was in London, The Enforcers had arrived. They all were wearing there matching Kevlar and Red Cross outfits; there was of cause was a mixture of assault rifles and other weapons in their hands. As I watched I saw the enemy launching rounds towards Dan and James, but it seemed to take no effect. I wondered why, the bullets should of ripped them apart by now, but as I watched I realized something was deflecting the bullets, an invisible force was pushing the bullets just out of range from hitting the boys. That’s when I saw the small black crystal on the tip and the bottom of a staff that Dan was suddenly flinging around, wait… when did he get that staff? The sort of force field effect must be coming from the staff itself. The battle seemed to be at a standstill with the soldiers not being able to shoot down Dan and James and James and Dan not being able to run in, because it took all of Dan’s concentration to use the small black gems to deflect the bullets.  The Enforcers suddenly dropped their guns and pulled out an assortment of weapons, from razor edged swords and axes to the blunt but deadly maces and batons. They didn’t look like they were messing around anymore. They charged in formation, swinging in deadly large arcs and short fast strikes from the people with weapons with pointed edges. To me it looked like a many headed snake, making multiple dead strikes all at once. Any normal human being wouldn’t be able to dodge all those deadly arcs but Dan and James weren’t normal. They moved in insane speeds, dodging and falling back to get away from the advancing formation. The Enforcers weren’t messing around indeed, they were here to eliminate who ever stood in there war path. Suddenly I unfroze, realizing that they were in trouble now. They couldn’t keep that speed up forever. I took in my resources; I had in my pockets; a packet of bubble gum, some rubber bands and some paddle pop sticks. Not the best arsenal that I could go into battle with, I needed something more powerful. Something that would give us the time needed to form a plan of attack… Then I spotted it over near a rock, there sitting on the ground was the backpack that Dan had been packing full of the stones. Suddenly a plan started to form in my mind, it was crazy but I might just work and buy us some of that much needed time. I ran over to the bag looking for two stones I had seen before, where were they!?! I swear I would kill Dan after this, his ‘sorting system’ SUCKED! I finally found the stones I was looking for, one which was bright orange and the other peppery black. Ten of each, not much ammo but it would have to do. I took out all of my pocket materials and started chewing the bubblegum, not for pleasure but I need it to be sticky. As I ordered my materials I took a quick look over my shoulder to find that the boys were against a wall trying to fend off the multi-pronged attack that the Enforcers where preforming. I looked back at my task knowing that I was running out of time, the boys obviously had slowed down quite a lot sooner or later they would be hit by the extremely efficient attacks. I broke the sticks slightly so that didn’t break but would if push came to shove, I then but it them in the rubber bands, on in each. I then applied the chewing gum to each side of the rubber band, and then applied the stones to each side of the stick and onto the bubblegum, sticking them in place. All the while I was doing this the boys kept slowing down and took some side glances from the Enforcers weapons but thankfully there were serious damage. As I stood up I took my five new weapons and raced towards them to help. A good thirty meters away I threw my first device, it made a small whistling sound before the group of Enforcer’s bundle of men. For a second nothing happened, but after that first few awkward seconds of the soldiers realizing that I was there and had thrown something at them were try to organize themselves to go after me but the device finally activated.

BOOM!!!!!

A small explanation is in order, what I threw was primitive but very effect hand grenade, whist in the air the stick had snapped allowing the rubber band to spring together, causing the four stones to come together (two of each type). These stones were the ones I had messed with earlier and it had created an explosion. Now with two of each of these stones in each grenade it caused a bigger more deadly explosion. With four more of these explosives under my command I didn’t look so unprepared anymore.

The effect was massive, the Enforcers staggered under the explosion giving Dan and James the time they needed to launch their own counter attacks, with the compact force suddenly missing a few of its soldiers the rest of them crumbled from the attacks of James and Dan. Whenever it looked like they were banding together again I would send another one of my homemade grenades in.  Not soon after all the soldiers were on the ground, ether from the attacks of the boys or from my newly made weapons.

“Well that was easier than I thought it would be” I stated, that unfortunately got me death stares from both James and Dan before they both said in sync “Ow no you just didn’t”.

I didn’t realize the stupidity of my mistake until I remember that whenever you are dealing with something like war or anything like that in general it’s a bad idea, mainly because it instantly gets worse. Of cause this phrase lived up to its name, because just then there was another massive explosion. On the other side of the cave there was a massive hole where stone usually stood. Out of this hole that had been formed came forty Enforcers with two people dressed in all white instead of the normal black leading them.

“Ow Kangaroo Dung not those guys” spat Dan, James just continued to give me the evil eye until I replied with a weak “sorry”

The soldiers fanned out and started running towards us, with melee weapons. They obviously knew their guns wouldn’t work.

“There’s nothing we can do about it now, looks like we have to fight. I hope you understand we can’t help you in a fight, look after yourself.”

As we set up in a formation with Dan in the middle and James on the right and me on the left. I realized that this wouldn’t be an easy fight. These new figures seemed to be different from the run of the mill solider; they looked more elite and powerful. All I could was watch as they advanced towards us with their soldiers running ahead.

Chapter 7: Thunder Prince

As the group of soldiers ran towards me I suddenly felt a jolt behind me, like a shock of electricity. I turned around to see a man in a long black trench coat with streaks of yellow in zigzags running down it and a hoodie that hid his face, the hoodie had a monsters face over it. He also had massive headphones around his ears.

“Looks like you guys need some help” he stated bluntly, there was something electrifying about his voice and mysterious presence.

“Luckily you have me” he smiled as he grabbed my arm in his left hand and James and Dan in his right hand before yelling “God Speed”

For the second time in the past few days

Everything

Went

Sideways.

The group awoke in comfortable beds in a Tavern far away from the healing cavern which had been there home for the short time they had been there.

The new comer was the first awake, he was obviously tired from his magic but he got out of the creaky wooden bed and slowly, almost drunkenly walked down the stairs to the bar. The normal heat and smell of sweat greeted him but he didn’t seem to mind it. He proceeded to the bar. He took a stool from lowered himself onto it with a small grown of pain before looking up at the bar tender. They both nodded, obviously they were well acquainted. The bartender was in his mid-thirties with a slight pot belly and a newly shaven beard.

“So Jacob, what do you think about our cats that you have dragged in?” started the bartender.

“Well Jack, how about you hit me with water with some lemons in it?” He replied curtly “I’ve just travelled one hundred kilometers in a blink of an eye and the fatigue has already kicked in.”

Jack just grunted before walking behind a small enclave away from his bar, after some muffled movement he returned with a jug of water and some cups. Jacob heard the small rattle of something in the water and to his delight he realized it was ice.

As if knowing what he was going to ask Jack quickly said “There was an Ice wielder that came through here about two days ago, he made a small fridge for me so I can get ice for a little while. In other word drink up while it lasts.”

He placed the jug of water and a cup in front of Max and proceeded to squeeze a lemon’s juice into the jug, before pouring both Max and himself a drink. They tapped there class together then drank both muttering sighs as the icy water made their brains wake up. They didn’t speak for a moment, still savoring the cool refreshment but after a bit the coolness had disappeared. So Jacob started the story from his point of view;

“Basically the girl upstairs has caused some fuss with the big shots, so I was sent in to help them get out of there little problem with the Enforcers.” At the mention of the human force the bartender huffed with displeasure, he obviously wasn’t a fan of the Enforcers.

“Anyway all I was told was to get the out of there then I would be briefed on what to do next.”

“How long do you think she can last?” the bartender asked

Jacob thought for a minute before replying “I don’t know she has the two hunters on her side so it’s hard to say but if I had to guess I would say, with all the feathers she’s ruffing up, probably ten days max. Of cause that’s only if they don’t send in the supers after her.” He stopped for a minute as a big man walked up to the bar and order another whiskey bottle for his table before paying and going back to his comrades. Both Jack and Jacob watched him go to a safe distance before continuing, “Of cause I don’t know what I am going to be doing so I can’t tell you how long she will last.”

Jack nodded agreement, “I think your right on the mark with that assumption but I would give her eleven days due to the fact that the Enforcers don’t know where you shifted her to.

“Fair enough, now I’m going to go back to bed before I pass out. By the way keep an eye out for the dude in the back left corner of the tavern, he has a bottle of whiskey under his coat which I assume he didn’t pay for.”

With that he started walking back up the stairs to the bedrooms as the bartender casually called over one of his people and pointed out what Jacob had seen.

-12 hours later-

-Dan-

I woke up to certain wolf man in full wolf from gnawing at my foot with Zoe smiling at me, man that was embarrassing. I tried to pull me foot away from James only to find I couldn’t, he must have his paws on my foot too. Well now I had to wake him up even though I knew he needed sleep, just as I was about to use my other foot to kick the little pest off end of my bed I felt Zoe tap my shoulder. I looked at her and she showed me a small wooden piece and handed it to me, all the while smirking and trying not to laugh. I gave her a look that said Tell no one before using the stick as a substitute to my foot. After I was out of bed I walked into the hall with her, still smiling an evil smile.

As the door shut she started saying “That was so cute!” but I cut her off with “Not a word” before walking off towards the bar. She ran after me trying to hide her smile before continuing

“Aww come on he may be a wolf man but he’s still the cutest dog I’ve ever seen and when he was gnawing on your foot it looked like he was having the best dream he had ever had” she rubbed in.

“Cut it out will you?” I asked with a bit more force then I realized

“Ok, fine but you need to tell me more about this ‘Thunder Prince’” she stated.

Suddenly I realized why she had been so persistent and I had just walked right into her trap.

“Of cause all you have to tell me about this new comer or…” she moved her hands on top of her head before continuing “bow wow gets out.”

I could see that she was trying not to laugh at her own wit, but I found it anything but funny. After a few seconds of thinking I took the logical point of action.

“Fine” I stated sharply

“YES, Score Zoe 1 Dan 0!” She squealed

“Quiet down you, do you want to wake up the whole town?” I replied curtly. She quietened here cheering but still didn’t stop. We made it to the bar to see the bartender putting on some coffee, obviously for himself but like any other bartender in the world he was making enough for a couple. Zoë and I took a seat in front of the bartender.

“I’m guessing you’re the one Thunder Prince brought in” he stated, gesturing towards Zoe “and you must be the famous Dan the hunter”.

“Who’s it to you” I said instantly on guard, if he knew this much about me and Zoe he is ether an Enforcer puppet or had gotten the information from somewhere else.

“No need to get in a fuss, I’m Jacobs long time old friend and no friend of the Enforcers.” He stated smartly with a twinkle in his eye. Seeing Dan’s suspicions settle he continued “Well would you like a cuppa while we discuss about my good friend Jacob and before you even ask this girl really needs to not yell as much by the way I’m jack.”

“Well Jack a drink of coffee would be nice also it looks like you’re having a good harvest unless of cause they throw up on something” She said looking over her shoulder at the people in the taverns bar.

Jack smiled “Well let’s not think about that little possibility.”

“Yes let’s not” replied Zoe curtly.

Dan obviously wanting to stop this little verbal war they were having, turned to the bartender and stated

“Could you tell us more about this Thunder Prince, all I know of him is that he got us out of there and had aligned himself with The Wind Walker.

Jack gave one last twinkling look at Zoe before continuing “His real name is Jacob, he game to this world when he was eight and everyone looked him over, they had enough problems of their own, everyone except a certain little girl. She cared for him personally, she was still a normal human being only a few years older than Jacob but that was enough. So together they began developing powers and climbing up the ladder and eventually Jacob became the most trusted warrior to this girl, who now is the Wind Walker.” He summed up.

“Ok that all well and good but how do you know him so well?” Zoe stated.

Jack smiled and looked off into a wall as if recalling his earlier life.

“Well it was a late rainy night, and business was good when a little girl stumbled into my Tavern with a little boy hand in hand. They were soaked in water and mud. They looked half-starved as well. They came to me and showed me a small grubby coin while saying “how much will this get us?” Now seeing the boy and girl I felt pity on them so I gave them a free room, sent one of my waitresses up to clean them up and gave them food and you guessed it, it was the Wind Walker and Mr. Thunder Prince. I let them stay as long as they wanted.”

“So that’s how I meet them and now they think of me like an extra father maybe an old uncle.” He finished chuckling to himself.

There was silence among the group realizing the importance of that moment

Zoe stated the thought they had all come to “So your telling me that if you hadn’t helped them that night they probably wouldn’t have been what they are today?

“Well I wouldn’t go that far” replied Jack.

“I would” stated a gruff voice from behind them all. They turned around to see standing in the middle of stairs listening in on their conversation was Jacob.

Before anyone could make any excuses about why they were talking about the young man, Jacob walked over to the bar sat down next to Dan and gave him a white envelope which was sealed with a crest of a feather on a rock.

“What is this” Dan commented.

Jacob didn’t reply but instead looked towards Jack and simply stated that “well ‘Uncle’ could you please get me a strong whiskey?

Jack gave a look which he must of thought made him look suspicious but all it really did was make his cheeks wobble. “If you insist” he replied jokingly before fetching him what he was after. No one made a noise as he fetched the drink, so when the glass clattered onto the table it sounded like a trumpet blowing instead of a small sound.

After taking a swig of his drink Jacob looked over to Dan and pointed towards the Envelop, obviously wanting him to open it.

Dan paused for a moment, contemplating whether he should open it before curiosity got the better of him. Carefully he removed a knife from his sheath, before removing the top of the letter he looked inside to find a note printed in neat cursive. It read:

Dear Hunters

I hope this letter finds you well. I am sorry to report that our fight between the Enforcers and there mages have gone badly. It seems that they have found a way to transport themselves into our new home. Knowing this we have decided to hold a meeting of the organization. We discussed in great depth about our new ally or enemy which you have in your protection at the moment. She is not our concern at the moment, if you trust her you can allow her to accompany on this mission. The mission is simply to take out Marcus Flintlock, It may not seem that big of a deal but he is at the Centre of these recent attacks. I know you’re retired but there is no one else I can send. You may use my little guardian in your quest but apart from that I can offer you no more assistance. Please make due haste.

Kind Regards

The Organizations Wind Walker

Dan slowly pushed himself off his seat and stated bluntly to Zoe who was watching with keen eyes that “Zoe I know this is so soon but would you help me gather the people who will protect this new home?

Zoe knew that even though she didn’t grow up here, she wanted to protect the people here. She wanted to protect the stupid Werewolf who had hit on her, she wanted to protect the friendships she had forged and most of all she wanted to help throw a spanner in the works of these Enforcers. All of these things came to mind as she said

“Yes, I will help”

It took them only twenty minutes to pack, wake up a werewolf (who was now drooling on a sock) and get going together the four of them moved out, there faces grim and there capes fluttering in the wind. They rode into the dark with the lives of many upon their shoulders.

Chapter 8: Jennifer

After many days of weary travel the team slowly rode to a top of a hill which hid the border between the Wind and Water Kingdoms. Not much was said between the travelers for they knew what had to be done. They had been briefed before of where they were going but to a certain girl’s dismay they had not discussed WHO they would be trying to find. As usual the Girl in question was trying to coax one of the men out of this certain bit of information.

“So we are at the border of the Wind Kingdom, I would think as a member of this mission I should know who we are looking for.” She had tried many tactics whilst on the road but they had ignored her half ploy techniques so she was out of options so after some consideration she went for the hit them hard tactic.

As she stated this question all of her companions looked at her and rolled their eyes as one, she hated when they did that.

“Well little miss information I will give you some hints; her name is Jennifer and she lives in a town called Ula in the northern part of the kingdom. There happy? Will you stop pestering me now?” replied Dan in a patronizing voice.

At this new development her mind ran with possibilities of who this person may be. Everything from a slim shady person to a massive woman was considered, but to no avail the name didn’t fit right. This all took place in her mind in a matter of seconds, storing and filing the new information. To her surprise both James and Jacob reacted to the news with the same ideas floating through their minds, she knew this by their small expression changes which she had discovered on their trips and time together. So they didn’t know much about where they were going until then ether. She cursed herself for being the first one to say anything she only now realized it was a game. Well she couldn’t change it now. She would remember this game of theirs.

After a few minutes of silence passed as they stopped to study the border.

“It seems that we will be heading north then.” Zoe stated trying to get them to talk more.

To her dismay this attempt was countered by a witty remark, which she was the target to all too frequently.

“No of cause not we will head south to catch the evening breeze before continuing south again until we have traveled across the known world.” Jacob stated.

Not wanting to be patronized anymore she simply cut of the conversation by spurring her horse down the hill towards the border.

Also special thanks to harry ( My brother) and the real other half of Meredithbros, because without him i probably would have been playing some sort of other game if he didn't pester me about how there wasn't a new chapter out!
