Hello
Hello
Hello
I'm wakin' up at the start of the end of the world
But it's feeling just like every other morning before
Now I wonder what my life is gonna mean if it's gone "Mmmmmm."
I rolled over and looked at my alarm clock.
6:13
"Crap!" I was gonna be so late for work!
I jumped outta my bed and flew around the house getting ready. I rushed into my bathroom and turned on the shower. I quickly stripped, grabbed my toothbrush, toothpaste, and jumped into the warm stream.
As the water hit me my mind wandered, and my fantasies took hold of me.
I was walking along a beach with a cute guy. He was holding onto my hand for dear life, as though if he let go I might float away.
He turned and looked at me. There was so much affection in his eyes. He gazed at me so lovingly that my knees went weak. I had to cling to him just to stay on my feet.
Without meaning to I looked at his full lips and bit my own. I looked up into his eyes once again and felt like I was drowning.
Water washed over my head, flooded into my ears and made breathing difficult. It had begun to rain. Fighting for breathe, I watched the way the water trickled down my mystery man's face.
Before I could catch my breath, his lips met mine. The kiss sent tingles through my body. My every nerve felt like a live wire.
After a few moments, I wanted more.
I opened my mouth slightly, in a subtle effort to deepen the kiss. He must have been thinking the same thing, because he quickly pushed his tongue into my mouth.
The taste was so horrid, I immediatly spit it out and began back peddling.
I hadn’t gone far when my back suddenly hit cold tile.
I shook my head, forcing myself to come back to reality. When I opened my eyes again, I was in my tub. The shower was going and steam was rising.
I was covered in toothpaste, from head to toe. I had Clearasil in my hair and shampoo on my face. My toothbrush, which now lay on my tub floor, was covered in body wash.
"Well that’s what I get for fantasizing in the tub." I said choking on my body wash. I spit and hacked as much as I possibly could to get rid of the taste. When that didn’t work I once again stepped into the flowing water.
Washing it all off was a long and hard task. Especially getting the toothpaste off and the nasty taste out of my mouth.
I climbed out of the shower, and tripped on the tub lip. I fell, hit my head on the bathroom counter and was whisked away.
My eyes closed, and behind my lids a beautiful picture was painted. I saw a log cabin. It was so warm and inviting I had to go in.
Inside I saw two arm chairs, and a couch perfect for snuggling in. There was a fur rug on the floor, in front of a wondrous fire place. Plush throw pillows adorned it in a semi circle. All facing a roaring fire.
The room was warm and cozy.
It was so relaxing that I couldn’t keep my eyes open, I began drifting on my feet.
Soft lips kissed my nose, and my eyes flew open.
I was eye level wIth one of the hottest guys I've ever thought of.
Once I was looking at him, he smiled a bright smile, one that lit up his entire face. He held up two cups and motioned me over to the rug.
I hesitantly walked over and sat.
He grabbed a blanket from the back of the couch and draped it over us as he sat.
He handed me one of the cups, the steam of it warmed my face.
He watched me as I took a sip, and burned my tongue. I almost dropped my cup, but he was able to catch it without spilling a drop.
I stuck my tongue out and began madly fanning it. I made quite a spectacle of myself.
He gave a silent chuckle and took hold of my hands. He moved them away from my face, and blew on my tongue. Trying to cool it. His breath smelled absolutely horrible, it was hotter than the cocoa had been.
Not satisfied with his progress, he took my tongue into his mouth. At first he was simply sucking the tip, but then he progressed, and was soon sucking on my entire tongue. As if it couldn’t get any worse, he got sloppy. His tongue began traveling all over my face.
When he repeatedly began licking my nose, I opened my eyes. I had to put a stop to this.
Instead of seeing the inside of a beautiful log cabin, I saw the inside of Rasputin's mouth.
I screamed and jumped up.
Rasputin, my St. Bernard quickly ran out of the room whimpering.
My face was covered in his saliva. I had a pool of it in my mouth. YUCK!
I spit it out fast and brushed my teeth again. I brushed multiple times, until my gums were raw.
Satisfied, I turned and began cleaning the mess. I wiped clean the slime with my towel and threw it in the hamper. I would have to remember to wash that immediatly.
Brushed my teeth one more time for good measure, and exited the bathroom.
What if I say I'm not like the others?
(Keep you in the dark)
What if I say I'm not just another one.
(You know they all... pretend)
You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
(Keep you in the dark)
What if I say I'm not just another one.
(You know they all... pretend)
You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?
I sang along to the song, as it blasted out of my alarm clock. At first I just danced around in my hallway, but eventually I spun into my room. In my fantasy I wasn’t spinning into my room, I was spinning into the arms of a great guy. A great guy that could dance.
The song changed as he twirled and dipped me continuously.
As we wake up in your room
Your face is the first thing I see
The first time I've seen love
And the last I'll ever need
You remind her that your future
Will be nothing without her
Never lose her, I'm afraid
Better think of something good to say
But it's all been done more than once
I'll keep on trying
Oh god don't let me be the only one who says
He looked me in the eyes, and turned me so that our hands were twisting. He told me how to move, not with his voice, but with his hips.
The sensation of his body pressed up against my own was absolutely thrilling. It feltt as though I was on Superman at six flags, and we were finally descending.
He spun me once again and let go of one of my hands.
He placed his hand on the small of my back and pulled me close. He rested his head on mine.
We danced like that for the rest of the song.
Grown up
She just turned 16
Stuck in the moment
Dead at the scene
And it's on tonight
This is the life that you wanted, right?
So turn off all the lights
Dressed up just like a movie star
At all the parties they'll know who you are
Wouldn't it be great, to be fashionably late?
So why don't you wait, till you're sedated
Don't it feel like something's not right in his kiss tonight?
Yeah what I'm saying is do you, do you want to lose it all?
Cause this is more than just a dance hall drug
You can't wait to fall in love
All I'm saying is do you, do you want to learn to fly?
Then you should pack it up and say goodbye
Cause when the push comes to the shove
It's just a dance hall drug.
As the new song started, I turned to my alarm clock.
7:23
I ran around my room, quickly getting dressed. I must have tripped over Titan, my Doberman pinscher, almost a million times. He finally got tired of it and went downstairs.
When I finished, I turned off my alarm. It was 7:47. I was so late it; no way my boss would shrug this off.
I put Sam and Goliath, my Chihuahuas, in the kitchen. I poured them some kibble from the jumbo bag, and put fuzzily, my rottweiler, in the back yard.
I grabbed my keys and was out the door by 7:55.
On my way to work, all I saw was happy couples. Happy couples walking down the street holding hands. Happy couples sitting in restaurants eating dinner, feeding each other. They were kissing on benches in the park when I walked through it.
They had no idea how lucky they were to have someone. To not have to face loneliness.
I exited the park and crossed the street, not paying attention to the red hand on the walk signal.
Someone started honking, and I turned to see a bus, speeding towards me. The driver stepped on the breaks but the bus didn’t halt. I was staring the afterlife in the face, frozen in place.
Huh, this isn’t how I thought I would die.
About three feet away from total annihilation, someone pulled me back. Out of the way.
He pulled me into his arms, and held me until the bus passed on its way.
Everyone had been screaming at the top of their lungs, and they still did. It’s a wonder how I was able to hear him so clearly when he whispered in my ear, "Pay more attention to your surroundings next time."
He let go of me and walked away. I didn't even get to thank him. All I could do was watch his shaggy, dirty blonde head bob with his movements.
My phone buzzed, alerting me to a text. I pulled it out and opened the message: WHER R U?!?!?
I replied: across da street
I sent it and watched the time.
8:15
I shook my head and waited for the walk signal to change. I assured everyone that asked that I was fine, and ran across the street as soon as I could.
I went around the front entrance, through the alley and entered through the back. I clocked in, took off my jacket and walked through the back room.
"You’re late." said hayley in greeting.
"I’m almost always late."
"And why no one's fired you yet I will never know."
"Where’s boss lady??" I asked.
"She had to run to the bank so you’re safe." She opened up the liquor cabinets and started setting up. "Can you get the glasses?"
"Yea." I walked back into the back room, and opened the cabinet. I started grabbing glasses and putting them on the serving window ledge.
Hayley grabbed them and put them under the bar. We worked like that for 10 minutes, chatting about insignificant things.
Bang!
Someone started pounding on the back door.
"Let us in! Its chilly out here!" the other girls yelled.
"Who is it?" I answered.
"Just open the door!" they all yelled at virtually the same time.
I opened the door and Maria hit me. I laughed it off and held the door for the others. They were carrying 3 coolers, and had two more in the truck.
"Hey girlie!" they greeted as they handled the coolers over to the barrels.
Carol held the door as a few of the girls went back out to get the other coolers.
Lucinda stayed back, so she and I started opening coolers and hooking different packs up.
Each barrel had its own machine, and label. That way the blood wouldn’t mix, and the customers get exactly what they want.
We turned on the machines; the blood started draining, the barrels filling up.
I went to go flip stools over and wipe down tables. Lucinda watched over the barrels and wiped them down.
Anna and Beth started cooking. Katherine came to help me.
We all worked silently, until the speakers came alive.
Oh, my, god. Becky, look at her butt.
It is so big. *scoff* She looks like,
one of those rap guys' girlfriends.
But, you know, who understands those rap guys? *scoff*
They only talk to her, because,
she looks like a total prostitute, 'kay?
I mean, her butt, is just so big.
I can't believe it's just so round, it's like,
out there, I mean - gross. Look!
She's just so ... black!
We all started singing along.
I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And take your picture
Beatrice, our boss and owner of the bar, walked into the main room and sat. We waved and serenaded her in turns, ending in a fit of giggles.
"So Roxy," Beatrice began after a moment, "How was your date Thursday?"
I fumbled with the bar stool in my hands, and it fell on my toe, "Damn!"
"It must not have been good." Hayley said laughing.
"No. it was amazing." I said sarcastically, "He took me to this really popular place called McDonalds. He ordered for me. Off the dollar menu. Then he was considerate enough to have me pay."
"He’s a keeper" Elliott said sauntering into the room.
"You’re late!" Beatrice informed.
"Sorry, date ran a little longer than I expected."
"So Rox, what happened after that? I’m sure your date didn’t end there." Lucinda said, replacing the empty pouches.
"After that," I began again, "we took a nice stroll through the park. I wanted a little moon light make out session, despite the three fish fillet burgers he ate. So I sat on a bench, and was about to call him over when something seeped into my mini skirt." The way my face fell at the end had them begging for more. There was no way I was gonna tell them though.
"I’ll switch schedules and let you work the bar if you talk." Carol bribed in a sing song voice.
"Fine" I answered in defeat, "on the bench there was a plastic bag with dog poop in it. When I sat on it, by accident, some of the poo smeared out and got on my skirt."
Everyone in the room erupted with laughter. Tears spilling out of their eyes, some of them gasping for air. I blushed deep crimson.
"What did you do?" Beth choked out.
"I pretended that I was deathly allergic to squirrels, and asked him to get rid of the one behind him. After he turned around I ran."
"Smart girl" Carol chirped through fits of giggles.
The music cut off for a few seconds, and a bell chimed. Time to open the doors and get to work.
Beatrice went to her office in the back room. Anna and Beth took care of the food. Carol, Lucinda and Maria all grabbed aprons and mini notebooks. They started planning out who would get which tables. Elliott and Hayley got into place behind the bar.
I unlocked the doors, flipped over the closed sign and went behind the bar with the others.
The setup lights dimmed, and the work lights flashed on. They cast the entire bar in a dark haze, while lighting up the small dance floor in multiple colors.
We did one more quick wipe down of the bar, as our usuals walked in. A few of them took tables, while the rest formed a cluster around the bar.
"Hey there darlin' why don’t you get me a buttery nipple? If you don’t got that I can just suck on one of yours." Joe leered at me very suggestively.
"I’ll just get you a drink. Like I’ve always told you sugar, my bodies too sweet. You couldn’t handle this." I replied as I grabbed a glass and started mixing his choice of liquid poison.
"Just give me a chance, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I will." he flashed me a rotted smile. Poor guy had at least 7 teeth missing, and many others waiting to join them.
"Sorry baby."
He grabbed his glass and walked away from the bar, sat at a table in the back and watched me.
"Hey gorgeous, can I have 2 bloody marys with a shot of AB+ in both. Some chicken fingers... and a cosmos." The vampire paid and went to his table to flirt with his breakfast.
"Airhead probably thinks he’s gonna turn her." Hayley said as she brushed past me to fill a glass with whatever order she was filling.
I yelled through the serving window, "1 finger no salt." grabbed three glasses and started popping open bottles. I finished the Cosmo and put it on Carols serving tray. Elliott was already at the barrels, so I handed him my bloody marys and grabbed the chicken fingers. I put it on carols tray, grabbed the bloody marys after Elliott finished and gave them to Carol.
She walked over to the table without incident, put everything down and got a tip. She put the 5 bucks in her bra, one of women’s many pockets, and walked over to another table.
The night progressed in much the same manner, but getting busier by the minute. I slipped into my usual pattern, flirting, taking the order, filling the order, delivering the order and repeat.
It was the same routine, at least that’s what I thought until 1 a.m. rolled around.
I opened a Heineken and put it on the bar, turned around grabbed a glass and made the house special.
I slid it to the guy that ordered, and handed him his change.
He grabbed the hand with the change and pulled me toward him. With his other hand, he grabbed the back of my head and slammed his lips against mine.
He tried to stick his tongue in my mouth, but I wouldn’t let him. I tried pushing him away, but he was too strong. He pulled my hair and I gasped. His tongue successfully entered my mouth. All I could taste was alcohol.
I bit down on it, a little too hard though because the taste of blood filled my mouth. He didn’t seem to care much though. He just pulled on my hair harder and I could swear I felt it leaving my scalp.
His hold weakened first, and then he just let go completely. He doubled over on the bar.
"Thanks Joe." I said spitting the blood into the trashcan. I popped open a Corona and chugged it to get the taste out.
My attacker grabbed the Heineken on the bar and swung it hard. It crashed into the side of Joe's head and he went down. The guy kicked him in the gut, and he started coughing.
I screamed and started calling for security. Hayley started moving people away so they wouldn’t get hurt, but they wouldn’t let her and she just ended up getting man handled. Elliot tried to separate the guys, but they just held him back. They were enjoying the fight and had no plans of letting anyone end it.
I screamed for security again, as more fights broke out. One of the drunkards broke a beer bottle on a table and held it to my throat.
"Stop yer hollerin'! Dis ish da most fun I’ve had all day!"
Even more people started joining in, and soon almost everyone was fighting. The tables and stools were tipped over, some of them broken. They were fighting in glass, getting cut up and scraped yet they didn’t care.
My boss ran in the room, security flanking her. I watched as Beatrice swept the room with her eyes, reached over and pulled the fire alarm. The sprinklers began raining down and security started separating everyone. After about 23 minutes or so they were finally able to subdue everyone. Everyone except the guy holding my life in his hands.
I closed me eyes and silently prayed. I mean my life couldn’t end like this right? I haven’t really started to live yet.
"First a bus, now this? You’re gonna have to start paying me."
My eyes flew open.
In front of me stood a total stranger. He had hazel eyes and shaggy dirty blonde hair, I felt as though I knew him. His voice was familiar, but I just couldn’t place him.
"Are you alright?" He asked me.
I took a moment to register everything he said, and realized I did know him... Maybe. "I never got the chance to thank you for the bus."
He picked up a fallen stool, and sat in front of me.
The violent customers were kicked out, and the servers cleaned up the glass quickly. They cleaned everything fast, and a fresh wave of customers flooded in. They replaced the bunch before them, and didn’t even halt at the mess. They picked up the tables and stools, hot sauce and condiments. They sat down, or took to the dance floor, lined up at the bar. Everything was pretty much back to normal.
My mystery savior sat with his back to me, watching people file in.
Feeling oddly bold, I leaned forward and whispered in his ear, "Welcome to The Dancing Leprechaun." He didn’t answer, he didn’t move, so I blew on his ear and continued, "What can I do for you tonight?"
He turned, "I guess I can have something while I wait."
I grabbed a glass and put it on the bar.
"I’ll have the house special, a Dancing Leprechaun, with 3 shots of type O."
"You’re a vampire?!" I said, my jaw dropping.
"Yes" He replied amused. He pushed my jaw up, back in place and shot me a smile.
"Oh." I had nothing else to say. How lame.
I grabbed the Irish whiskey and poured some into the glass. I poured the Drambuie and lemon juice at the same time. Added some ginger ale and walked over to the barrels. Instead of 3 shots I put 5 long ones.
I walked back to him, handed it over and smiled, "It’s on the house."
"Thanks. Hey... What are you doing on the 24th?"
"Working here." I gestured to the bar while putting bottles away and filling more orders.
"She has the night off if you need her." Beatrice said throwing away the last of the glass.
"I've saved your life twice today. I think that warrants me a favor... Right?"
"Depends on what you have in mind." I said handing the guy next to him a Guinness.
"There's a Christmas party im being forced to attend and I need a date."
"She'll do it!" Beatrice and Hayley said together.
"Great." He said as a petite little red head placed her hand on his shoulder. She squeezed his shoulder in greeting, before ordering quite a bit of blood and alcohol. She ordered some food and carted him away with her.
They sat a table in the back corner of the room with 5 others. I watched him greet the guys with special handshakes and punches to the arms, while he greeted the girls with smiles and kisses to the cheek. Boys could be so weird.
They talked for a bit, and it piqued my curiosity. I wanted to know what they spoke about, what kind of things he said in conversation. I bet he was witty, always speaking sarcastically.
The red head turned to stare at me, and the guy closest to her pointed towards me. All of them, except my mysterious savior turned and stared at me with wide unbelieving eyes. Taking that as my cue, I got back to working, quickly peeling my eyes away from them.
The rest of the night, I was so busy, that I didn't have the chance to look at them again. When I did, they were gone. I don't know what I was expecting. I guess I wanted to look up and see him staring at me. Our eyes would meet and I would feel something, I'm not sure what I would feel, but I would feel something.
He would get up from his seat, leave that little red blemish behind, and take me away. Lead me by the hand out of the bar, take me somewhere special. I wanted him to woo me.
I mean I'm not asking for anything special, but something would be nice. I'm tired of all the losers that walk into my life, the ones that take me above the clouds just to send me hurtling back down to the grown again. Im tired of letting myself get hurt, I want a guy that’s different than the rest.
"Rox!" Beatrice yelled, breaking into my reverie.
"Yea? Sorry Boss, was just thinking. You need something?"
"It's closing time. Hurry up, and I'll have Elliot walk you home. It’s too late for a girl like you to be walking home alone." Beatrice answered me.
I looked up, scanned the room and saw no one there, no customers anyways. I immediatly began cleaning up the bar area, Hayley helping me. We all worked silently, the events of the bar fight swirling in our heads. I had come so close to dieing, if he hadn’t been there, I would certainly not be here now.
Thinking of this had me realizing something else, I had no idea what his name was. I would have to find out, but considering that I knew nothing else about him, I had no idea when I would find out. I doubt he knew my name either.
"Hey Rox... What was that guy talking about?" Hayley asked offhandedly while putting bottles back.
"Which guy?" I asked with a frown.
"The one you seemed to show interest in." She answered with a smirk.
I blushed, "You heard him, he wants me to be his date to a Christmas party."
"I meant before that when he was talking about a bus. What did he mean?"
"Oh! I almost got my self run over by bus on my way into work today." I said nonchalantly as I remembered the moment. Remembered the feeling of my body pressed against his. Frustrated, I sighed.
"Only you. Rox, only you." Hayley sighed and shook her head at me.
We continued on our nightly clean up routine and finished at sometime past 4 a.m. I grabbed my jacket and bag, and turned to find Elliott. He found me first, with a guilty look on his face. He told me that his girlfriend had called, and he had to go home immediatly. He apologized to me immediatly and followed me out. He told me he knew I would be fine because I could handle anything. He said any many that would even think of attacking me is absolutely stupid.
I could tell he was just saying that to reassure himself. To get rid of the guilt he felt for ditching me like this. Being the nice person that I am, I let him off the hook saying that I should be fine. He left me and walked out of the back alley; he turned to the right and was out of sight.
I sighed and pulled my jacket closer behind me. I heard some shuffling and I turned to the other side of the alley. There was someone slumped against it. I watched as he slowly stood, and as he approached me I backed away.
"Where you going Darlin'?"
Relief washed through me, "Joe! What are you doing back here? You scared me half to death!"
"I'm here to get my reward."
"What reward?"
"My reward for helping you. I tried to save you, and got my @ss kicked in the process... How you gonna make it up to me?" He asked advancing on me. He walked under some light and I saw the crazy lustful look in his eyes. My fear returned and I started walking in reverse, matching his pace.
"Im really grateful for what you did for me Joe. Really I am, but I’m not about to give you the reward your looking for."
My back hit the fence, and my stomach plummeted down to my feet as he closed off my only exit. I screamed, but it wasn’t too successful. I’d been doing to much of it in the bar earlier and now my throat was sore and closing up.
"What's wrong Darlin'? Why won’t you give it to me? I deserve it!" He pushed me up against the fence, held my hands in a tight grip above my head. He pressed his body against mine, pinning me down. He bent his head to kiss me.
His lips touched mine, and I lost all hope. I was screwed.
He tried to stick his tongue in my mouth, but before he could, something ripped him away from me. I slid to the ground, my eyes closed. I heard snaps and cracks, bones being broken. I could hear something slamming against the wall opposite of me, and I squeezed my eyes shut. I wanted to escape this place.
In my fantasy my vampire, had come to save me. He had grabbed Joe and pried him off me by his hair. He had given into his rage, ignored his better judgment, forgotten everything else and beat Joe half to death. He had almost killed him.
A tear ran down my cheek, as I cried over the fantasy that could never be. He would never again come to save me. My tears began flowing freely. The area went quiet; all I could hear was someone fighting for breath, and my heartbeat.
Someone touched my face, wiped my tears away with their thumbs. I opened my eyes expecting to see one of the bouncers from the club, or Elliott but what I saw before me made me gasp.
There he stood in front of me. My savior. My vampire.
"Are you alright?" He asked me.
"I'm fine. W-w-what are you doing here?" I stuttered in shock.
"After I left I realized that I hadn’t told you anything about the party so I came to give you the info. I also realized I didn’t know your name." He stood and held his hand out to me, "You know, maybe you really should hire me to be your round the clock personal bodyguard."
"My life only seems to be in danger when you’re around." I pointed out.
He frowned as though he was deep in thought. He shook his head, as though he was shaking off his thought, not liking the way it was going. I put my hand in his, and he pulled me up. I stood and dusted off my clothing; he wiped the rest of the tears off my face and frowned.
"What’s wrong?" I asked him.
"You’ve got black streaks on your face." His frown deepened.
"My mascaras running." I said also frowning. He nodded, but I got the feeling he didn’t understand what I was talking about.
"Mascara is what I put on my eyelashes." I said, he nodded again. This time in understanding.
I sighed and started leading him out of the alley, towards my house.
"Why?"
"Why what?" I asked him.
"Why do you wear mascara?"
"To make my eyelashes look longer."
He grunted, and lost himself in his thoughts. I lead him across the street, and through the park.
"Sooo?" I asked him
"So what?"
"You came back to give me the info right?"
"Oh yeah!... It’s on the 24th. It’s for vampires, but humans can go. I guess i can pick you up at 7... It’s a black and white event, but that doesn’t really mean the same as usual black and white. It means the guys will wear suits, and the girls will wear dresses, but it can be any kind of dress."
"What do you mean any kind of dress?"
He blushed, "Most of the girls wear revealing dresses. They can be long, or short. Tight or loose. Strapless or backless. Doesn’t matter. But like I said they usually wear very revealing dresses."
I walked along quietly, still leading him towards my house. Both of us lost in our own thoughts. We got to my front door, and I heard a crash inside. I thought it could be my dog’s rough housing, but I handed him my keys and hid behind him anyways.
He put the key in the whole, and unlocked my door. He froze and I stiffened in response.
Someone yelped and screamed, "Blake! Help me!"
Who was Blake? My vampire started shaking. He grabbed his stomach and held on to the door frame for support. I bent over to the side and looked him in the face. He was laughing so hard tears were running out of his eyes.
I looked forward to see what was so funny and saw a guy. He had the same kind of aura as my vampire, pointing him out as not human.
Although he had super strength and speed, it seemed as though it wasn't enough to fight off my babies. A wide smile spread across my face as I looked upon them with pride. I felt like a father watching his little princess punch a guy in the face, with an amazing right hook, for being too forward.
Rasputin had a good firm hold on the vampire’s backside, blood trickling out of where he had bitten him. Sam and Goliath where hanging from his arms, both having sunk their teeth in different areas, claiming each of his arms as their own. Titan had his canines clamped hard in his right leg and seemed to be trying to disconnect it from the rest of his body.
The vampire was whimpering and flailing about. Fuzzily, my rottweiler came to stand in front of me. He was growling, and snapping at the intruder.
"Don't just stand there! HELP ME!" He sharply flung his left arm, trying to free himself of Goliath. The vampire flung his arms over and over again, until finally one of my Chihuahuas, Goliath, flew off. Unfortunately for him, Goliath had yet to release his arm. His eyes went wide as he stared at my little baby, munching on his new prize.
"Awwww. The big bad vampire can't handle a few little puppies?" I taunted, while safely hidden behind my vampire, just in case.
He turned and scowled at me, and I childishly stuck my tongue out. My vampire slid to the ground at my feet silently laughing and gasping for air as the tears continued.
"Blake! Help me! This really hurts!"
My vampire, who im guessing is Blake, started sobering up. He chuckled and moved to help the other vampire.
Once he got close, Fuzzily turned and jumped for Blake’s neck. I didn't find that funny at all.
"PLATYPUS! BONANZA!" I shouted as loud as I could, trying to make sure my dogs could hear me. They immediatly stopped and lined up in front of me. Both vampires stood in awed silence, mouths open, watching me with new found fascination.
"What?"
"You can control these demonic spawns?" The intruder asks me with wide eyes.
"Yes, they are mine." He nods at me slowly, with his mouth still open.
Blake starts stepping towards me, but half way across the room, my babies turn and start growling. They bared their teeth and slowly advanced in a straight line.
"PLATYPUS!" I yelled again and they stop. Blake threw his hands up in the air, trying to show that he was no threat. His friend slid behind him, using him as an undead shield.
I chuckled and yelled, "POGO!"
My babies quieted down and went to stand in the corner watching. If it had been a human, they would have left the room trusting me to call them if I needed their assistance.
"What are they? No way in hell those are normal dogs!"
"You can control them with such silly words? Absolutely AMAZING!" Blake yells striding towards me.
"They're not silly words; they’re the command words I used to train them. It‘s not like I could use every day words, I had to use something you wouldn’t normally say in conversation." I suddenly feel so tired. Being around vampires for so long can be extremely exhausting.
"What are they???" No name asks again.
"Goliath and Sam, the ones that were on your arms, are Chihuahuas. Titan, the one that was sharpening his teeth on your legs is a Doberman pinscher. Fuzzily, the one that stood in front of me is a rottweiler.... The one that was tenderizing your @ss was Rasputin my St. Bernard."
"No way are these dogs normal. What did you do? Pump them full of steroids???"
I purse my lips at him and narrow my eyes. How dare he make such an accusation! "My dogs are a hundred and one percent drug free you butt hole!"
"Its true they're not like normal dogs." Blake says standing between us.
"That’s because they’re mixed. I got them from hunters." I say with a faint smile as I remember the days when I got them.
"No wonder I almost died!"
"Drama queen."
BAM! The hall closet's door flies open, and out comes a screaming girl wielding a broken umbrella dangerously. Her ferocious yell of “OOOOOHHHHWAAAAAAHHHAAAAAHHAAAAAA!!” Had us all so scared that we dropped to our knees in silent hysterics. We clutched our stomachs and tried our hardest to grasp at oxygen that just kept eluding our deprived lungs.
The dogs began growling and advancing on Warrior girl causing her battle cry to die down into rapid panicked breaths. “J-Ja-Jace!!” she stutters out quietly before quickly backing her way back into the closet, never once looking our way.
Once the door shuts, the dogs lie down and get comfortable on the floor where they are and lazily watch us in the corner as we erupt into another round of laughter. After we finally sober up, we notice the quiet sobs coming from the closet and the guilt slowly starts eating at me. With a sigh I get up and lead the dogs into another room.
I feed them and walk back to the living room where the first thing I notice is the open closet door.
I turn my head to the right and see Blake leaning suavely on the wall with his hands in his pocket staring out the open front door. I turn to the left and see “Jace” holding the red head from the bar while she cries into his chest.
(This book is not finished, and will be going under construction very soon. :)
Also, everything in white is the actual story, where as the red is not as importnat, its just song lyrics.)
