Alex Mason is an entrepreneur and a father of 3, who has been running his own business since early 2003. While looking for additional sources of income, he stumbled across driving for ride-hailing apps.
He started off driving with one of the ride hailing apps by renting from an hourly rental vehicle company, then rented a 7-seater MPV from one of the car rental company owned by a leading ride hailing app company and eventually purchasing a 5-seater saloon car and began driving for both ride hailing apps in the city he resides in.
Alex has been driving since early 2017 and clocks about 16hours on the road on days that he drives. He takes some days off to tend to his other businesses.
Alex enjoys coaching newer drivers on how to maximize their income from driving.
In his free time, he enjoys playing sports and spending time with his children.
This book is dedicated:
To my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who gives me strength and wisdom to overcome all of my challenges – without Jesus, I would have been dead many times over;
To my lovely wife who has devoted all her time in helping me with my business, looking after the children and making sure that my physical and emotional needs are met.
I love you and I would have achieved nothing significant without you.
Thank you for everything that you have done for the children, our family and me;
To my 3 adorable children who are the reason why I work hard every day.
Most drivers start driving looking for that pot of gold but some of them soon find out that not every treasure hunter finds treasures.
I once met an Uber driver who has been driving for about 6 months. I asked him how has it been for him and he told me that he is barely making enough to cover the monthly rental and other expenses of the vehicle.
I find this rather intriguing, as I believe that any hardworking driver can easily collect over S $200 per day, driving about 12hours. If he drives 6 days a week, he will have about at least $2,400 worth of profits after deducing petrol and rental for his car. Assuming petrol is $50 per day and rental is $40 per day [$(200x6daysx4weeks) less $(50x6daysx4weeks) less $(40x30days)].
After chatting with him for 5 minutes, I immediately identified certain areas that he can improve and was able to advise him on how to increase his income from driving.
If he had read this book before embarking on his journey of driving private hire vehicle, he would have made so much more money in the 6monts that he has driven for the ride-hailing app.
Almost anyone can make a decent income driving for ride-hailing apps as long as they are willing to clock in the hours.
In this book I will be sharing about when to make the most money; where to pick up the best rides; tips and tricks of what to do when you cannot find passengers; and ways to supplement your income when driving for ride-hailing apps.
If you take time to read this book, I guarantee you that it will save you some time bumping around (pun intended) and help you make some profits in your first week on the road.
In some countries, in order to drive for ride-hailing apps, you may need a Private Hire Driver’s Vocational License (PDVL).
To apply for a PDVL, one needs to have passed his Class 3 or Class 3(A) driving license for 2 years or more.
However, after seeing many new drivers get into accidents, resulting in losing 4-digit amounts (instead of making), I strongly recommend that only people who have been driving regularly for 2 years or more to consider taking up driving for ride-hailing apps.
If you have passed your driving license for more than 2 years but have not been driving regularly, you can still be a good ride-hailing app Driver. Just be extra careful and extra safe to avoid getting into accidents.
It is a known fact that inexperienced drivers are at a higher risk of getting into accidents. This risk is compounded when you have an inexperienced driver driving for a ride-hailing app.
This does not mean that you cannot be a good driver if you are new to driving.
Here are some of problems that new drivers face and I have included tips on what to do when you are caught in such situations:
Ride-hailing app drivers need to multi-task – and human beings are known to be bad multi-taskers.
If you’ve used a ride-hailing app before, you might have noticed that the drivers are sometimes fiddling with their phones when driving (hopefully it is mounted on a phone holder or he was committing a crime). There could be many reasons why they are doing that. He might be checking the traffic conditions of the route that he is taking; or he
