I WISH I COULD GO BACK
BACK
TO SIMPLE
HAPPY AND FREE
THEN AGAIN
WHEN WAS IT EVER
SIMPLE, HAPPY OR FREE
FAMILARITY GREW CONTENTMENT
DECEPTION FOSTERED RESENTMENT
FLED MILES AND MILES
BAREFOOT RUNNING FROM A SCREAMING CHILD
IMPOSSIBLE, TO FLEE WHAT'S WITHIN
NO STOP, PAUSE, BEGIN AGAIN
NO DO OVER IN REAL TIME
BURY IT DEEP, SO AS NOT TO FUCK UP THE MIND
THOUGHT IT WAS A DREAM
THE WAY HE TOUCHED ME, AND THE SCREAMS
TRUSTED YOU
TO KEEP THEM
SAFE
SILLY ME
how could YOU be TRUSTED
wanted you DEAD
when SHE said
the WORDS
THE SAME WORDS
I SAID
SHE wanted you DEAD
when SHE said
THE WORDS
the SAME words SHE said
never wished harm on you
not for OURSELVES
but for our loved ones
we prayed you to HELL
so another wouldn't feel
the pain and emptyness we felt
yet you play the cards
the low hand that's dealt
feeling guilt for opening the box
funny when it came to head
key players weren't shocked
so why does the guilt
lay on innocent shoulders
disclosed the truth
the world got colder
I'M SO SORRY
SORRY I WASN'T STRONGER
SHE'S PROABLY SORRY TOO
SORRY SHE WASN'T STRONGER
we say fuck them ALL
FUCK HIM, FUCK HER
yet we still remain invisible
not seen, nor heard
always with the feeling, we shouldna said a word
BUT WHY?
why should we cover
for YOUR sickness, your BETRAYAL, your LIE
why should WE hide
praying to die
on the inside
filled with a black void
that should have been trust
yet got distorted
by your devilish lust.

ILLEST POETS
So many cats,
writing bout this and that
missing truth and facts
lack
lyrical style
while
the illest, wonder where the problem lies
thats just it
the problem lies
in the lies
unified
to make the mass's
believe in happily ever after
blank stares, behind the laughter
but, when pen hits paper
writer becomes educator
translator
debater
creator
vindicator
a true liberator
the world may reject what you spit
especially, the dopest shit
hits
too close to home
or their too far gone
on fiction
like a drug addiction
everyone won't be reached
by our rhymes and speech
yet we write on
from sunset to dawn
digging way down to the root
to pay homage to the truth

AMERICA
America the beautiful, Home of the brave
cradle to grave
crave
an illusion,constant state of confusion
tricked by amendments and constitutions
locked in institutions
if we opt for exclusion
impeached,if we exercise our freedom of speech
curriculum froth with white history
not life history
no mystery
black youth equate
black skin
with violence and sin
therefore, our right to bare arms
sounds alarms
America the beautiful, Safe and free
ideal place, where immigrants flee
to pledge to thee
lest we forget Tuskegee
HIV
Politics
a sick
dick
infested with syphilis
deep in world conflicts
Nostradamus predicts
mass destruction
Bush relutant
to sign a health care bill
but he will
ship more and more troops overseas
but, won't battle disease
on the homefront
meaning OUR front door
as part of the caper, paper
the government tapers
cause it's harder to track
Jews, Asian, White or Black
foodstamps or credit card swipe
record of your life
preserved in a datsbase
GPS trace
blank space
should you wonder out of place
now labeled terrorist threat
bank account in a net
America, Home of National debt
America, America, Thou shed it's grace on thee
America America, When will we be free!!!!

SISTA
What in you is missing?
That makes you feel he has the right,
the right
To make you feel so beneath
so beneath
Your life station,
By station, I mean
Why has he taken you off your THRONE
and thrown
you into the deepest pit of demoralization
Since creation
admiration
has been your legacy
YOU!!! You supply life and vitality!
So for me
to hear the words, It's my fault we fight
I need to learn to love him right
coming out your mouth
MAKES ME WANNA SHOUT!!!!
Sista, I hear you praying,
for salvation.
On bended knee, Asking God please
fortify the foundation
Which has long decaded to dust
from misuse, mistrust and lust.
Record on repeat
Ashamed to concede defeat
Think of the message your relating
while your debating
Daughters studying your chess strategy
Tragically
Queen checked by a pawn
you sit dazed and withdrawn
mourning a broken dawn
while another generation looks on
Now your heritage, a descending curse
sleek black hearse
same line of verse
But, it can be dispersed
When African Queens, open their eyes
Realize!!
The true value of our soul
and as one become whole
repossess the control
that for years has been displaced
and erased
by centuries of ism
lynchism,racism, absenteeism
pessimism, and defeatism
We must STOP making an excuse
for abuse
physical, mental, verbal
it's all the same
MY SISTA, MY SISTA
BITCH!! is not your name.
You are unique, loving
an entriguing entity
Believe your a QUEEN
and for generations QUEENS, WE SHALL BE.

BLACK MOTHER'S

Black Mother's,

Cry silent tears in the night,

about gas, food,

rent and lights.

Black Mother's,

stand sentinel as they rest.

Day to day,

feeling we're being put to the test.

Black Mother's,

Struggle to raise Strong Black Men,

Hard to do,

Yet we do what we can.

Black Mother's

Forever mindful of how much our kids know.

So satisfying our needs

Is done on the low

Our babies venture out,

We pray for they're safe return.

To keep them cocooned in our embrace,

Is what we really yearn.

But they have to go, grow, discover,

make their own mistakes.

Yet, When the world disillusions them,

it's OUR heart that breaks.

Black Mother's,

seems we're forever one bill behind.

Mr. Bill Collector,

catch YOU next time.

Kids need new shoes,

the old ones had holes,

rips on the side,

tape on the soles.

Black Mother's

Our wants always come last,

Fighting to assure our kids, don't relive our past.

Black Mother's

A MAN, is not a necessity!!

But, we will take one that's strong,

who brings time, love and honestly.

Black Mother's

we're used to fending for ourselves.

So Good Black Men, we apologize,

for doubting, you mean well.

We can't afford to GUESS if you mean harm,

We have to KNOW,

If your touch should ring an alarm.

Black Mother's, worry endlessly in the light

over all the wrongs we wish to make right

Then tomorrow we tread on, continuing the fight

That's why Black Mother's, Cry silent tears in the night.

WHY ME? O LORD WHY ME?

People voice this question all the time

trying to figure what they did wrong

over and over in their mind

they consider trials and tribulations punishment

so they think there's an answer to be sought

and often tend to bypass

the lesson being taught

for all the heartache we endure

and the pain of today

we need to help us in our struggles

somewhere along the way

for all the anguish that you feel

that might not seem fair

helps you develop wisdom

so your experience you can share

all the loss thru the years

that sometimes crippled you with pain

you didn't realize then

but, strength is what was gained

but when our mind is racked with grief

we often tend to forget

we're never given more than we can handle

for, our God shall not let

all thru our lifetime

everything happens for a reason

just as day turns to night

and there's a change of seasons

though we never question why

when our world is filled with happiness

we just offer a silent prayer

and give thanks for being blessed

so, why question his will in hard times

and not accect as woman and man

our suffering is not in vain

it's all apart of God's Master Plan
