Preface
I never liked my grandmother, neither did I like other old people. I was scared of them for a reason I later found out was a natural condition.
My name is AJ, and I once struggled with Gerontophobia.
My sweet sixteenth birthday was an emotional day for me. I wished I could pause my age because I was scared of getting old. However, the truth remains that with every passing second, every birthday, we draw closer to our graves and there’s absolutely nothing we can do about it. Therefore, I choose to embrace life and celebrate each day with thanksgiving.
