"Yup. It pays to be dumber than a bag of hammers when it comes to freebies from the government," replied Pa, looking up at Mammy as she passed him a plate of biscuits.
"That Jasper Collins has never done a day of work since I've known him," Pa went on. "He lives off hand-outs from the government and fishes the river while other men are working their hind ends off in their corn fields. It just ain't fair. Some men have to work like dogs, while others fish and hunt and sit on their rear ends all day. How do crazy men like that inspire their young uns?" Pa asked.
"Jasper and Molly have ten children – five gals and five boys. I recall his sorry old pappy was the same way he is. He never did get no book learning and drew a check every month to raise twelve brats on. They grew up and got on the draw too. How did he get all those brats if he is as crazy as he claims," Pa kept asking.
Pa took a bite of his food and mused for a while. Looking around the table, he said, "Jasper's woman is the worst looking woman
