INT: House of darkness KANSAS

The year is 1992, October 3

 

Night – DARK FIREY SKY, AS THE SUN SETS.

 

LESLIE kneels by his bed preying to god.

 

 

LESLIE

Please heal my soul lord,

forgive me for all of my sins.

 

Pregnant ANGELINA grabs Leslie by his arm pulling him up.

 

ANGELINA

Hurry honey we are running

out time we need to get the hell

out of here.

 

Door opening to the room that ANGELINA and LESLIE was in, startling the both of them, seeing in the door way it was JUDY, MELVIN AND their TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER  ASIA.

 

 

MELVIN

I trust you Leslie,

we know who the real god is.

 

JUDY

We've been living a lie,

not as god intended.

 

ANGELINA has a look of disbelief in her face

 

 

LESLIE

Honey are you okay?

 

ANGELINA doesn't reply and every one is startled by the pounding on the door.

 

 

JUDY

Their here, we need to

leave now

 

 

 JUDY, MELVIN, LESLIE, and ANGELINA ranned to the back of  the

house to see SHERIFF MCKENZY pointed towards the forest.

 

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

Hurry,  I'll distract them.

 

ANGELINA

Thank you, I wish u were

coming with us.

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

Wish I could but some ones has to be

the sheriff around here.

 

MELVIN looks around to realize that ASIA is no where to be found.                                                                               .

 

MELVIN

ASIA! Where are you honey.

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY holds him back.

 

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

NO! Go I will go and get her.

 

Sheriff in a panic rush goes through the halls glancing back and forth in all the rooms

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

Asia where are you sweet heart.

 

The pounding on the door gets louder and louder. As Sheriff rush’s around she goes past a door to see a glimpse of a child. She does a double take, and

turns to see's ASIA with tears rolling down her face. The little girl standing there confused.

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

It's okay, I got you.

 

She picks up ASIA and ran through the halls towards to the back door and hands her to her mother Judy.

 

ASIA

Mommy.

 

 

JUDY

thank god, thank you so

much Mckenzy.

 

SHERIFF MCKENZY

No problem, go get the hell

out of here.

 

The front door came busting down as the men and women run through the house.

 

EXT: KANSAS FOREST – NIGHT

 

Running through the forest, a group of adults and one child stop abruptly, in front of a tall stocky man with broad shoulders, His dark brown long hair was slick back into a pony tail.

MICHAEL S. WIDICKER standing there with his hands inside his pockets giving a intimidating stare.

 

 

WIDICKER

You disappoint me, Did you really think

you could turn on your religion

and get away with it.

 

WIDICKER  walks up to LESLIE.

 

WIDICKER

You never believed, that's why

you'll die.

 

The group of four look in shock and panic. Two men appear on each side of WIDICKER and moved towards the group.

Introducing the Characters

INT. HOSPITAL HUSTON, TEXAS 2000 – DAY – COLOR

 

A young man, TODD BRANSON walks through the hospital doors to the costumer service counter.

 

NANCY

Hey Todd, you need to page.

your mom.

 

TODD

Yes please and thanks.

 

Nancy dials a number for Todd's mom.

 

 

NANCY

Angelina, please come to the

front desk your son is here.

 

 

TODD

Thanks Nancy.

 

A beautiful young women with long dark wavy hair walks through the hospital double doors,  As she notices that Todd is sitting in a chair she has a impatient glare.

 

TODD

Mom is there anyway I can get

my birth certificate?

 

ANGELINA

Is this what you called me for?

 

ANGELINA turns around and walks back towards the double doors.

 

TODD

Mom! I really need it, I cant get

into the Academy with out it.

 

ANGELINA turns around to face TODD with a glare in her eyes.

 

ANGELINA

Haven't we already discussed this?

I need you here with me.

 

TOOD

I know we've already discussed this,

but I need to go on with my life,

I cant stay with you forever.

 

TODD starts to speak, but is interrupted by his mom ANGELINA.

 

ANGELINA

We can discuss this at home,

I need to get back to work.

 

ANGELINA rush’s back through the double door. TODD stares off in the distance, defeated.

 

 

 

 

EXT. CAMPUS CORUT YARD – DAY

 

A jab to the face explodes blood all over DARREN WILSONS, Huston Texas baseball jersey. Laying down on top of a young boy DARRN knocks him in the jaw, ASIA WILSON, a long chestnut haired girl with blond highlights rush’s through the crowd.

Asia grabs DARREN”S arm yanking him back.

 

ASIA

Darren stop!

Before you get arrested again.

 

Tossing her blond hair with brown roots, JASLENE SATIN, snatches ASIA by the shoulder.

 

JASLENE

Just let them fucking fight.

 

ASIA

NO! Im tired of bailing him

out, if he gets arrested again it will

be his last strike.

He's already on probation.

 

JASLENE gets snappy.

 

JASLENE

Your such a goodie two shoes.

 

ASIA wraps her arms around DARREN and pulls him off the classmate.

 

 

ClASSMATE

your parent's must be proud to have

a bastard like you for a son.

 

Darren jerks out of Asia's grip and socks the kid in the face.

 

DARREN

(He stands over the classmate facing him)

If you ever talk about my parent's

again, I'll fucking kill you.

 

INT: COMPUTER REPAIR STORE – DAY

 

 

TODD is fixing a computer as his friend MIKEY sits at a desk looking something up on the computer.

 

TODD

Did you write up the order for

the Peterson's computer.

 

MICKEY

I'll do it tomorrow.

 

TODD

What have you been

doing all day?

 

MICKEY

Solitare.

 

TODD

That's what u been doing

all day?

 

MICKEY

I'm a manager, That's what I

have you for.

 

TODD

When are you going to start

taking things seriously.

 

MICKEY

Never, I'm only here for the money.

 

TODD

Yeah, yeah. Your only here to get

enough money to get a car.

 

MICKEY

You would be too, if you didn't want

to get a ride from Asia for

the rest of your life.

 

TODD looks more intensely at the computer and starts to pound on it.

 

MICKEY

So is your mom going to take

off that leash and let you go

to the snotty academy?

 

TODD

It's not a snotty academy. It's world

class science. I'm lucky I even got

accepted. I can understand why

she doesn't want me to go, she

 does need me right?

 

MICKEY

I think your mom's not telling you

the whole truth about your dad.

She's to freaked out all the time.                                              

 

TODD

Her nightmares are getting worse,

that just makes it harder for

me to leave her.

 

MICKEY

I saw my parents die. I'm not that wacked

out, its not like she watched him suffer,

she wasn't even there when he died.

 

TODD

Mickey. You are fucked

up in the head.

 

MICKEY

Hummmmm. Your right.

 

 

INT: GMC JIMMY – DAY

 

ASIA is upset as she drives down the street. DARREN and JASLENE

are sitting close in the very back making out.

 

ASIA

See now your going to be late to see

your probation officer. I still haven't

picked up Todd and mickey yet.

 

JASLENE

Why don't you give it a rest.

 

ASIA

This has nothing to do with

you. JASLENE.

 

 

JASLENE

You know?

 

JASLENE gets cut off by DARREN.

 

DARREN

It's okay babe.

 

JASLENE starts to making out with Darren again.

 

 

ASIA

Darren I need to talk to

you about something.

 

DARREN

what now?

 

JASLENE push's DARREN's face close to hers to kiss him.

 

ASIA

Chase asked me to marry him.

 

DARREN sits straight up.

 

DARREN

WHAT!

 

ASIA

Before you get all hysterical,

I told him I need time to think.

 

DARREN

What is there to think about?

 

ASIA

He's a good guy, very

dependable and committed.

 

DARREN

A little too committed.

 

 

ASIA

How would you know about

commitment, when you've

never been committed to

anything in your life.

 

JASLENE

That's not true he's committed

to me every night.

 

ASIA laughs hard and loud
