Wkae up.

I wake up with a start. The lightning is blinding and the thunder is deafening. My breath is rigid and my heart is pounding. I put my hand on my heart and take some deep breaths. I wipe the sweat from my brow and slip out of bed. I walk barefoot across the wooden floors. I find my way to the kitchen. I feel around for a glass. I fill it up with cold water and take a long satisfying sip. After I'm done I put the cup in the sink and look for some candles. My hand runs across something velvety, and square. I drop it immediately, realizing what it is. In my panic I drop a glass candle holder.

"What was that?" I hear my mom yell from down the hall. I don't answer. "Rebecca? Are you okay?" she asks I can hear her walking up her boyfriend. "I think something’s wrong." she says to him. I can hear her walking down the hall with speed. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" she asks. I shake my head unable to speed yet.
"What's going on?" her boyfriend, Evan, asks me. I don't look at him
"Rebecca. What happened?" my mom says. I shake my head to clear it.
"I found this..." I say handing her the box. "And...I um...Slipped...and...Broke the...Thing." I say, I look at my mom; she’s staring at the box with huge eyes.
"Evan? Is this what I think this is?" she whispers, he grins
"I was going to wait until I took you to dinner tomorrow but I guess now is better than later." he says. He gets on one knee and gently takes the box from her hand. "Lisa Haynes will you marry me?” he asks. I watch as my mom allows the 3kt diamond ring slip on her finger, representing their bond….
“Yes! Yes I’ll marry you!” my mother screams, I back away slowly.
“No, no, no, no. mom what are you doing? Please mom don’t. Please…” I say but she’s not paying me any attention. I feel like I’m falling into a deep dark hole. A hole that never ends… I scream but no one hers me. I try to reach for my mother but she’s too far away, I’m just falling into this never ending hole of despair. And no one is trying to help me…
I wake up with a start…
“It was just a dream only a dream…” I say in a hoarse voice. I run my finger through my sweaty matted red hair. I get out of my large bed and walk over to my huge bathroom. I climb into the shower, not bothering to turn on any lights. I just let the hot water wash away what will only happen if I let it. After I get down showering I walk back into my room, allowing myself to drip dry. I stare into my large closet. I decide to wear a thigh length black and white tutu dress. I pull out some black stilettos. I walk over to my mirror; put my hair into a high ponytail, put on some lip gloss and grab my purse and book bag. I walk out of my room. I walk into the kitchen; my mom’s sitting there drinking coffee with Evan.
“Good morning, beautiful…” Evan says.
“Good morning, handsome.” I say playing with his chin length, brown hair. I look at my mom.
“Mornin’ ma.” I say, she smiles
“Good morning, you need a ride to school?” she asks I shake my head
“No I’m okay, Adam’s going to pick me up…” I say. As if on cue there’s a honking outside.
“See you later. Bye mom.” I say kissing her on her forehead; I give Evan a playful punch on the arm. “Later gator,” I say, he smiles. I grab a piece of toast before walking out the front door.

Hi Adam.
