It all started with a dare. A dare that would change my life, my friends lives, my enemies lives. All because of a single dare .
"hey Izzi, i dare you to climb over that fence," Ian Hughes said, a smirk on his face, evilness in his brown eyes. "I'll give you 5 bucks if you do."
" Alright," I agreed. I wasn't scared of some crappy fence. Besides, it was adult swim and there was nothing better to do for the next 15 minutes. "C'mon Bella," I nodded to my friend.
"No way!" she said, her chocolate eyes wide with fear. "Do you know how dangerous that is?" Behind the fence was thick overbrush and a little further was the highway.
It wasn't THAT scary.
I took a deep breathe before grabbing onto the metal. Grab and pull, don't look down. Grab and  pull, don't look down I told myself. Grab and- there was nothing else to hold onto. I was at the top. I looked down at Ian and the other boys that had gathered.
"I did it!" Now it was my turn to smirk.
"You still have to climb down the other side," he countered. I jumped down to the other side and landed in a squat.
"Or jump down," he muttered, taken aback that I had done the dare.
I decided to look around before climbing back. I took a step away from the fence, but instead of stepping on soft leaves, I step on something hard. I crouch down and pull out a beautiful golden stick from under the leaves. It was about 5 feet tall and the bark had been stripped away.
"Wow, a stick," Ian said sarcasticly.
"It has power," I mumbled. I didn't know how. I didn't know why. I just knew it had power.
"It doesn't have a darn power," Jordan, a friend of Ian's announced.
"Let me see it, Iz," Ian said. I threw it over the fence. "See," he said
triumphantly. Then the stick began to glow. It emitted a yellowish, somewhat hazed glow. We looked at each other. In all of our hearts we knew, it had
power.

My friends and I sat in a circle.
"Well, what should we do with it?" Anna asked.
"Keep it away from the boys, that's all I know," Bella declared.
"We'll hide it!" I exclaimed. Everyone's heads turned to look at me.
"Where?" they all questioned. I winked and gave them an evil grin before telling them.
Behind the bushes Ian smiled. He knew exactly where they were hiding it.
Now it was just a matter of time.
The next day at the pool, we went to the pool again. But not to swim. We
were going to find out what powers the stick had. Since she was small, Bella
volunteered to crawl under the porch of the clubhouse to get the stick.
"Izzi!" she exclaimed, jumping out from under the porch,"It's not there!"
"What do you mea-" suddenly I felt a hot breath on the back of my neck. I turned and came face to face with Ian Hughes.
"Give me the stick, Ian," I demanded before he could say the much too used
words "looking for this?"
