Happy Valentines Day!
Valentine’s Day is the holiday that couples celebrate together by showing their love and affection towards one another. This often includes random heart shaped boxes of Russel Stover chocolate, red roses, and quite possibly something saucy for the little lady to wear. Guys – if you’re going this route, tread very carefully. Presenting your honey with a ‘One Size Fits All’ number could cause a dramatic turn in your evening and leave you sleeping on the couch solo watching depressing Netflix documentaries. If you want to surprise her with something nice, just cover your bases and make sure you’ve got her sizing covered. Trust me on this. And for gods sake… let her pick the movie. Die Hard does not scream romance, despite how sincere you feel Bruce Willis is with that teddy bear.
Are there any single ladies and gents out there hating on this holiday? You’re not alone. Loads of people hate Valentines Day when they’re single. But that doesn’t mean you have to be miserable. Some of my favorite Valentines were spent single. Shocking, I know. Call up some of your gal pals or buddies and make a fun night of it. When you’re single, you don’t have to worry about the V-Day build up. Now you get to spend some of that hard earned money on yourself. If you want to avoid the hassle of crowded restaurants, invite some of your friends over and dine in! If you’re not in the mood to get gourmet, grab a pizza or some Chinese and fix up some cocktails or champagne (it’s on sale anyway, so why not take advantage?). You can play games, listen to records (I think kids these days use MP3 players), or check out the new releases on Netflix or On Demand. Sound too cliché for you? Not to worry. There’s nothing wrong that coming home, putting your feet up and reading a good book. That’s what they’re there for. But remember. Whether you love Valentines Day or wish it would go away, it’s one day out of365 and it’s worth making the best of it.
If you’re looking for something that will make you laugh, check out Kissing 101: A Guidebook for Men by BookRix author L. Avery Brown. Her skillfully written guide will have you giggling in no time! While you’re at it, check out G.D. Steel’s The Art of the Kiss as well. This short book takes a humorous tongue-in-cheek look at different kissing techniques and how to perform a sensual kiss.
If you’re in the mood for some fun DIY V-Day inspirations for your special someone or for your friends, try out these cool ideas I found on Pinterest. I’ve got my mason jar cheesecake cooling in the refrigerator, some cracker candy chilling in the freezer and I’m all set with my hand made Valentine’s card. I’m on fire!
Happy V-day everyone. Feel free to comment below about what you’re up to today. I’d love to hear from you!
