Chapter One: The Unexpected

No! I didn't want another baby. I had just started up something for myself. I had just discovered a part of me I never knew existed. A baby wasn't what I needed. Children are a blessing no matter how they come — I knew this but I just wasn't ready.

 When I got pregnant with my first, I was advised by my gynecologist to resign from work as it was important I took time out to rest. It was either my job or my baby—I chose my baby. Don't get me wrong, I do not regret my decision. After months of encountering rejections from prospective employers, I decided to have my second baby since getting a job seemed futile. A few months later, my son, Jayden was born.

 Jayden was about six months old when I got a job offer. "Yes! God has finally answered my prayer." So I thought. Being an administrative assistant wasn't a walk in the park, but I enjoyed my job. I loved what I did and was determined to give it my best.

 On a Friday, I left for work feeling very weird. I wasn't sure what I was feeling so I couldn't share it with my husband. He dropped me off at work and zoomed off.

"Arrrgh! I'm in pain." I screamed. Hearing my voice, Olivia got frightened and hurriedly came to me.
