The wind hit her full in the face. It was fifteen degrees outside. She couldn’t believe this was the farthest she could get from the Trestery Pack lands for sixty bucks. The bus stop was crowded with people trying to keep their body temperature up in the freezing weather. She raised her head slightly taking in a deep breath of air. There was no trace of wolf around. She shook her hair out shadowing her face just in case someone was here that recognized her. She had finally dyed her hair a deep black hiding the original color. She took a deep breath of the piney air and started to walk away from the bus station and into the small part of town where she could find a job to work at for the next few weeks. “Ok, sixty buck got me six hundred miles so one hundred and more can get me a thousand and more miles away,” she murmured to herself making sure her calculations were right. She froze for a second as she opened the door to one of the many cafes hiring on the block. But as soon as the she started to look around the feeling disappeared. She shook herself for being so skittish. She walked over to the lady in a black and green apron and looked around one last time. “Um, excuse me mam,” she whispered holding her hand up slightly to get the girls attention. The girl looked at her with a raised eyebrow and nodded. “Yes, what is it sugar,” she whispered a heavy accent over laying some of the things she had said. “Um, I saw you had a help wanted sign in your window, and well I need a job, but I mean I just really need it for a few weeks, cause I have to be able to pay for a place to stay and everything,” she chirped in a very high voice. “You’re not from around these parts are you, new to town,” the lady looked her full on now. “Ya kinda obvious hu,” she laughed silently. “Ya, but hay you could work for a few weeks and see how that turns out,” the girl said handing a green and black apron over the counter to her. “Thanks, so I guess this means I start today,” she laughed as she wrapped the thing around her waist and pushed her black hair into a ponytail. “Ya, well really it’s a test, run were open for three more hours and that’s when the people pour in, so if you make it today come around six tomorrow for the night shift,” she said shrugging and whipping out a glass.
“Ok, that’s fine,” she said looking on wondering if she was going to last the next few hours. She set her stuff in the cubby under the bar. She started taking orders and as the girl had said before it got crazy. People had the tables filled and the counter blocked waiting for their coffee, coco, and or beer. A half hour before the whole ordeal was over seven guys walk in together. There aura screamed power as they walked through the crowed. “I’d like mocha, an Espresso, and five Mocha Lattes, thanks and make it in a hurry,” said the one in front of all the others. He had pitch black hair and startling silver eyes, but the one thing that hit her hardest was his scent. It was wolf.
Supida
, she scolded herself as she wrote down the order and rushed to the back. “Um, you know I really need to find a motel before it gets too late, do you mind if I leave a little early,” she said as she looked the girl making the drinks in the eyes. She raised one eyebrow and nodded. “Wait on the last one you got and you can leave, you did very good, if you need you got the job,” the girl said as she hurriedly made the drinks. They were balanced on a tray as she saw they had grabbed one of the last tables available. She was half way there when some idet pushed her back and the drinks turned over on her covering her in the smell of coffee, “Crap,” she snarled. She grabbed the guy by the jacket as he tried to just keep going. “Hay, you need to apologize to me, and the nice guys whose drinks are going to be late because of you,” she growled slowly at him. She saw shock roll threw his eyes as he rushed out a apology. She walked back to bar and made the drinks again even though she was covered in the last batch no one could have had more balance then her as she quickly placed the drinks down and started to walk away. But it was a second two late. One of the guys had taken a deep breath. The coffee should of covered her scent but apparently only vinegar helped that. She winced as she heard a snarl rip from there throats as she grabbed her stuff and walked out of the place hitting the cold air was horrible. It was cold and she was still covered in coffee so it only made her scent even more recognizable.
As soon as she hit the street she ran for the bus station the only place she could find to hide. But before she got even half way there a sickening howl rolled through the night. It silenced any thought of escape quickly. “No,” she wailed inwardly as she saw the bus station a second before something collided with her. “NO, please,” she whimpered as she put her hands up to block her neck from any deadly hits. But all that happened is a sharp nose pushing against her neck a second before a howl rolled through the animal’s throat. Then as she looked up she saw a dark grey wolf pinning her to the ground. I could take him out in a second. Growled her inner wolf, but she pushed her down. They were surrounded in seconds. It was indeed the guys from the café. They looked pissed off and the one on top of her leapt away and ran for the trees coming back a few seconds later with cloths on. The black haired guy that had been telling her his order a few seconds ago glared at her with unleashed anger.
“Did you really think you could walk onto my packs territory without being found, or making it somewhere we couldn’t find you, BITCH,” he growled. The comment struck a tender nerve. “I didn’t know there were any wolves here, I’m sorry Ill be going, I haven’t been here more than a few hours,” she whimpered not letting herself get into any more trouble then she really needed. “Well, that really doesn’t seem to matter, now dose it pup,” he snapped his fingers and the guys flacking him grabbed her by the arms and dragged her onto her feet. One of her knees felt out of place. But the pain was tolerable. She winced as he got in her face and growled. “My alpha is gonna want to have a word with you,” he growled as he turned his back on her. She knew what was going to happen. A wolf that purposely crossed onto another’s territory was either made to join the pack or killed for his or her deed. “Dont let me folgen dort Tod, in den ewigen Schlaf,” she murmured. Don’t let me fallow there path.
The ride there was horrible. Their grip on her arms was going to leave nasty bruises and the silent glares and the feel of their fury and hostility was so strong she was almost choking on it. She knew she was shacking from fear and the need to fight back. Being who she was she really didn’t want to sit there like a good captive. She wanted to make it as hard as she could on them to keep her steady. But she held it back knowing it wouldn’t be good if they tore her apart before she had regained any of the strength she had. Also if they planned to kill her she would fight back. She stiffened her spin and shut her eyes, thinking about when everything was so much simpler.
It was a warm day in winter, there wasn’t any snow on the ground because well its Texas it doesn’t snow in Texas like that in the northern states. A smaller version of her ran beside someone that looked like a copy of her but in a male’s body. They were laughing and tumbling in the grass as wolves there was no need for disguise or for running. It was just her and her twin brother Rave, “Come get me Ral,” he barked as he ran back towards the compound, where all the other wolves were. Where there pack lived and stayed most of the time. But a few seconds before they made it there, there were screams and howls. She stopped but her brother kept running he was slightly deaf, but could hear if you yelled loud enough. “NO, RAVE,” but it was too late, two wolves came out of no were there muzzles already streaked with the blood of her pack, of her family, and now her brother, she shrunk into the brush to hide fear running ramped threw her body freezing her small frame. They didn’t see her or really didn’t care because all she could hear were her brother’s screams as they torn him apart. Sorrow threatened to overcome her as she ran, she never looked back her body could only go so far before everything finally hit her…..
She jerked awake in the car a silent scream threatening to come out of her mouth. She shook herself as they stopped in front of a place that was huge it had many other houses around it but the center building was what caught everyone’s eyes. She was jerked out of the vehicle and pushed forwards. She yelped as she landed on her knee wrong. She looked around and saw that many eyes were focused on her as she walked forwards between two of the guys. She wanted to run and hide to be invisible instead of facing an angry pack of wolves.
She walked into the compound. Many of the wolves already inside stared, some in curiosity, some in anger, and others in fear. “Marcy, go get Alpha Ker,” snarled the black haired man that had been the only one talking sense she had seen these seven wolves. Well four the other three were not amongst them. A girl with light brown hair and a mousy appearance nodded and scurried away. That’s the only way to describe the way she ran up the stairs like a pack of rabid badgers were after her. After almost ten minutes of standing there her knee was screaming in protest as she tried to roll her weight to the other foot. She winced and bit her lip stopping the moan of pain. As she reopened her eyes she saw the girl coming back with a man about a year or two older then herself, with the darkest brown hair she had ever seen. His gaze looked over the people in his mist, and nearly locked gazes with a few but when most of the conversations stopped he finally asked the black haired guy, “SO Dust, I see you have brought back something more than just a bunch of coffees and tired pack mates, who is this?” he whispered in a silky voice. It rolled lazily threw the crowd and nearly knocked the breath out of her.
“We caught her on the territory in the Abster Town, she tried to get to the buses, but we stopped her half way there, she said she has been in town for a few hours but hadn’t known this was a packs territory,” said Dust. She winced as the alphas eyes rested on her. “I’m not lying, I promise I really didn’t know, I didn’t have any more money to pay for the bus so I couldn’t go any farther, s-so I stopped to earn some money s-so I c-could be on my way out of h-here,” she whimpered hiding behind her hair. It had come down when she had been tackled, and now it hung like a heavy curtain of hair covering her face. She winced as he walked closer. “Hum, this isn’t her real hair color, get the dye remover and cut it short, then bring her to my office, I’ll have Daisy with me then so we can decide what to do with her,” he ordered never leaving her face. The two holding her nodded and started to drag her towards one of the door scattered around the hall. She felt panic rushing in her as they pushed her head down over a tub and the mousy girl named Marcy came in with this dark bottle and poured a heaping amount all over her head, not caring if it got in her eyes or mouth. She started to cough softly. She winced as the girl started to scrub her head with the stuff. It quickly turned black and started to take the dye job out of her hair. She started to struggle then. The guys holding her finally had to grip her by the back of the neck and push her hands together to keep her from getting loss. She screamed as she rinsed it out of her hair its natural color shinning for once in almost seven years. It was the deep red of her once pack mates, and family. She finally gave up she couldn’t get away it was over years of running had weakened her and she was tired what ever happened she didn’t want to be the one to fight when she knew she needed her strength. She gave in and let them cut the fountain of red hair into a short almost spiked pixy cut. She winced as she felt the wind against her neck. She heard the gasp as her captors finally saw her eyes natural color; it was a bright silvery violet that refused to be pretty in contacts. She shut her eyes as they tried to regain their anger and lack of attention. They grabbed her again and pulled her threw the door, that were followed by another few hundred or so gasp and whispers. She nearly yelped as they pulled her up the stairs with no warning. She sighed as the finally stopped at a black painted door. They opened the door slowly and pushed her in releasing her finally.
“Amazing,” she heard the sound of the alphas voice caress her ears she turned to face him. “Your natural color is so much more beautiful than that black, it didn’t capture the unique qualities of your eyes, I like the cut they gave you, it shapes to your face, don’t you think so two Daisy,” that’s when he turned his head and made it apparent they weren’t alone in the room. A black haired girl sat there her yellowish green eyes narrowed. “Ya, ya whatever, let’s just decide what to do with her, I think we should put her to death, we don’t need some rogue snooping around,” the girl snapped as she looked at her nails. She could see the anger rising in the alphas eyes. But as quickly as it was there it was gone. “Well I would like to know what she could bring to the pack before we decide her fate, from what I’ve read of your file, you were one of the best fighters the Brytt Clan had trained, apparently they trained you and as soon as you could you left them, but they didn’t give you away willingly did they, you made a bargain, but they don’t seem to want you back either, I really want to know how far your skills are to bring fear into the ones that names mean, killer and slayer, for it must be amazing, but I shall grant you that and a place in the pack if your skills are as listed if you tell me your full name, and the reason as soon as one of there male wolves tried to become your bond-pair you ran, I really want to know,” he stopped on the last line with a a dark look at her.
She gulped and took a breath. “My full name is, Ralveren Drayer Kallestern, my pack as you have probably read was slaughtered, and all the wolves thought to belong with that pack were thought dead, so after I watched a pair of wolves tear my twin brother apart, without a spare glace, I pushed every thought except to avenge them away, I told myself if I ever loved a wolf they would end up dyeing or leaving me like my family had been forced to, so I don’t exactly trust wolves even if I spent two years with them they never knew everything about me, and the only reason I’m here is because I’m too tired to keep running seven years is all I can handle, like the way it is, so that is almost everything I can tell you, there are things in my papers that only I know and things they were forced to leave out for one more reasons,” Ralveren said in a slow voice her Texas accent apparent in her words she didn’t try to control it she let it go. The alpha looked shocked and the female named Daisy finally looked at her for real. This was going to be an interesting stay. But then again what will happen when he finds out what she did to that male that offered to become her bond-pair….
The room was small fitting. After the alpha and the wolf named Daisy started to get into an argument he had ordered one of his betas to take her to the omega dens. She hoped he didn’t expect her to become an omega. Because she knew nothing of cooking cleaning or even being proper to the other wolves, yes she was going to be a waiters but that didn't take the kind of submission and respect as being a pack omega, and also that should be considered because of the years she spent away from the other wolves. She took a deep breath and got off the bed worry. She knew her guards were there waiting for her to get dressed and go see the alpha to get placed and find out what other horrible things he was going to make her go through. She winced as she got on her feet her knees were stiff from her fall yesterday and her muscles ached from having to be dragged from the car, and up the stairs. Ralveren sighed and pulled on the tight leather pants. They tied on the side and went to an inch above her knee. The top was almost the same, it tied on the shoulders and on the sides it fit tighter than anything she had ever worn before. She started to pull her hair into a ponytail but then she remembered them being chopped off. She could of screamed in frustration as she ran her fingers in her none excitant hair. "It took me years to get it this way, and now it’s all gone," she cried softly as she pulled a few of the longer strands threw her fingers, the silky strands sliding between her fingers. "Come on we know you’re awake, so GET OUT HERE," growled one of the men outside the door. She nodded and opened the door.
“Finally, the Alpha wants to talk to you then he said you were going into the sacrifice for the challenge, I’m going to enjoy watching you get your skinny rouge ass kicked,” snapped the beta. She smiled her eyes blazing in fury, they just didn't get it. “Ya, we’ll see,” she growled her wolf was excited and couldn’t wait for the challenge. They glared at her back as they staked down the stairs, the alpha was talking to a group of younger males, maybe sixteen, or fifteen, year olds. They all looked up as she finally took the last step, Alpha Ker, looked at her and she could see his pupils get bigger as he look in her outfit, it was the same one all the other female, warriors wore but it must of looked so much better on her. The boy he were talking two whistled, she chuckled softly. “Ralveren, I want you to place before we figure out if you’ll be staying, and as I said, I want to see your skill level,” he whispered, as he took a step towards her. “OK, so I fight and then I find out if I’m staying in the pack,” she slightly growled. He stopped and tilted his head a smile crossed his face, “I will be fighting you also, I will be the last competitor ,” she backed up quickly, but her guards as they were called stopped her. “Are you afraid, that you aren’t what they say you are,” Alpha Ker, quickly stated. She felt her wolf growl deep inside of her. “Fine, bring it on, I’m tired of games, and how about this if I loss let me GO and save yourself from a useless pack member,” she snapped. “No,” was the only thing he said, a smile on his face as he turned back to the kids and dismissed them. The betas behind her laughed and walked to flank there alpha. They walked towards the entrance, and headed towards this big circle, in the middle of what looked like a training area. There were male and female wolves battling against each other. She watched not impressed with the way they moved, they fought as if it were a chore and not an art, a dance that’s just as deadly.
“What, don’t think there any good, or that there just not to your level, you cocky…” but the male named Dust didn’t finish before she uppercut him. He was really pissing her off, he left his hand marks on her shoulders and her arms yesterday and he doesn’t know squat about her. “Shut Up,” she lightly snarled a smile on her face. Alpha Ker was laughed as he looked at his second in command as he held his jaw and popped it back in place to make sure the accelerated healing didn’t leave his jaw crocked. “Nice, I can’t wait to see you fight, it’s going to be amazing,” he laughed as he walked towards the circle. “MY PACK, GATHER FOR THE ACCEPTENCE RETUAL EVERYONE GOES THREW,” he howled. The fighting ceased and the wolves that weren’t there ran towards them. “Dust and his team found a rouge female on our territory yesterday, and now that we have finally found out some things about her I would like to see if her records hold true to her ability’s before she left her last pack, Her name is Ralveren and I hope you will push her to her limits today because we might have a strong new pack mate,” he yelled then grabbed her arm and pulled her to the circle, “Who wants to challenge her first, five competitors then I shall fight her,” he bellowed. She winced and tried to find a way to escape. “OK, how about this, whoever beats her becomes her bound-pair to treat her however you want,” he yelled that brought a lot of single males hands up. She nearly shrieked. “NO, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I left the last pack because of that I am not going to be anyone’s mate,” she snarled her body shacking fear shinning in her violet eyes as anger took over her mind. “YES you will, whoever beats you, if you beat everyone then you won’t have to mate and you can be high ranking, but if you don’t whatever male does then they get to claim you,” he answered her turning his back to her he nodded to a dark brown haired male that smiled brightly as he walked into the circle. His jade green eyes ranked over her she shook her head, and started shifting. She snarled and shifted in seconds, her wolves was white and silver her muzzle streaked with black and red, a scarlet so dark it nearly blended with the black, but the light brought out its red qualities.
“Amazing,” Alpha Ker whispered to Dust who was still glaring at her. “Let the fight begin.”
She glared at the young wolf that stepped out with a cocky smile on his face. She couldn’t believe the Alpha was making her go through this. She nodded her head as he attacked, she dodged in an instant and landed on his back, her claws digging deep into his shoulders making him cry out in pain. She finally got tired of hearing him howl and delivered a knock out bite, in the way he moved she could easily see where his mark was. She snarled as two betas walked out to get him, she laughed in her wolf form and waited to see who was stupid enough to want to challenge her next, they might think she’s weak but Ralveren Kallestern wasn’t weak, not anymore. Her wolf was ecstatic she was built for fighting and her wolf loved it even more then she did. After three more wolves she finally had one more left before her final. She looked at the group of wolves and flashed her teeth, she took out the other male out in seconds he just wasn’t that smart. But she was shocked when a Beta the size of a freaking mountain walked out and shifted into a striking grey wolf; she looked into his eyes and snarled her fear falling even farther down. He smiled back giving her full view of his long dagger sharp canines. This fight was going to take longer. She looked at him with anger and attacked, the smile which faded after two minutes of protecting, and three more of trying to grab her he finally fell.. She saw no one step forwards to challenge her again, but she was already tired and running out of energy, she knew she couldn’t take much more, she needed to work out some more, and a few more days of rest, instead of just one day to gain all the muscle and strength she had lost. She nearly howled in defeat as the alpha walked onto the field in his black wolf form. She snarled and bared her fangs, and growled. He looked sad more a moment but didn’t flinch away from her as she attacked head on. She barreled into him and went for his pressure points hoping this fight would end like the others, quickly, but he blocked better than the others wolves did. She felt herself slip once and cursed herself, as he pushed her onto her back, and grabbed her by the neck, she could feel his teeth in her fur, but they didn't puncher the skin. She also heard a lot of the wolves, howl, and chuckle, as they knew what would happen to her in the seconds it took her to loss.
Submit to me and I’ll release you pretty girl,
she growled in response. NEVER….
she snapped back at him and his mouth tightened on her throat, as the words flew into his mind do it now, or ill make sure you never fight again, or maybe I’ll make sure you’ll have to fight, me, chains, whips, tie you to my bed and have some fun,
she yelped as the images flowed into her head, they made her fear, they put fear into the one wolf her abandoned pack, said never feared anything, yet she feared this wolf. Have fun then, because I don’t submit……to anyone,
she whispered back at him. He growled and lowered his body closer to her and that made her freeze, she knew if she submitted she wouldn’t have to worry about him mating her in front of the pack, but she might have to go through the forced mating in his bed…. Which might not be so bad…
her wolf whispered, but she shook herself and relaxed and felt him sigh, he wanted her to keep fighting, she felt him shack his head, in warning and he released her.
She got shakily to her paws and shook herself, feeling the shame hit her hard. She had never lost a challenge she had never been claimed, and now she had no way of backing out of it. She could of howled in agony as she watched her now soon to be bond-pair walk toward his pack mates in wolf form, grabbing the cloths they had stashed get thrown at him as he shifted. He had them on even before he was done shifting into his human form. She whimpered and covered her head with her paws. No, no, run, that’s it run away, all I ever do, all I can do….
Ralveren stood on her paws and looked at the woods behind her. In this form she was faster and more dangerous. She took a step back, knowing that either way life was going to be hard, on her senses and her heart, and she couldn’t do it. She ran, that’s something she’s always done is run, and that’s what she’s going to do now. She turned in the blink of an eye and sprinted into the woods. Her feet flying over the ground she ran. She heard Ker’s howl and knew she was going to be in serious trouble if he caught her, which he could. But she had a head start and knew if she pushed herself harder she could make it…
Fear…anger… and triumph filled the air. Ral walked down the alley. Knowing her friend was gone, the only one in her life to help her. She snarled at the vampire.”Aww poor puppy lost her way,” it growled Ral snarled back her friends dead body lying on the ground her eyes were glazed over in death, and her pale blond hair was grey in death. Ralveren snarled and inched forwards, but someone grabbed her by the tail. “No Ralveren it was for the best, she was going to get you killed, leave the poor guy alone, he has to eat two…” Ralveren snarled and turned to Kent. His timber wolf form standing behind her. “You think its fare to let him kill her and no one come after him, he probably has friends that need to eat to, you gonna hand us over for their food,” she snarled her fur spiked and her teeth bared. Kent glared. “No mate, but she deserved it, going into a vampire club, asking for it and you know it,” Kent snapped back Ral’s eyes grew wide. “Well if that’s not touching, but the bitch was right, my friends and I are hungry and I’ve already eaten,” the vampire chuckled as four other vampires walked out of the darkness. “Dinner is served,” the vampire laughed as the others rushed forwards. Ralveren pushed Kent into the woods and howled. “RUN!” they sprinted as fast as they could but she could still hear Kelly’s screams as the vampire ripped her throat out, draining her life away…..
At this she stumbled and yelped as her paw folded under her. “Dam you KENT,” she snarled and tried to get to her paws but it hurt like hell. She whimpered and looked around. She could hear the pounding paw steps getting closer. “Can’t get caught, Rule one” she hissed as she looked at the branches and leapt into the nearest tree. She pulled her form closer to the tree hiding behind the leaves. She watches as four wolves run past. She leapt down when they seemed far enough away from her hiding spot. She held in a yelp of pain as she landed on her paws. Her foot was throbbing. She looked around franticly. “Rule two, never forget…” she whispered and started running on three legs not as fast but not slow either. She got about two miles from the border before something leapt at her. She snarled and tried to get up again. When all she saw was a chipmunk eating a nut, she huffed. She didn't get spooked by a chipmunk. She got off her side and was instantly pinned to the ground. “Now, where did you think you were going…?”
Ralveren froze the wolf on top of her growled in her ear, and she winced as she looked at the closeness of the next territory, where she can’t be forced to mate. But now that she ran, she issued a challenge to her mate, and he caught her. “Ho-how did y-you..b-but that cant b-be” she stuttered. His mouth went over her neck and he pressed down on her back, he caught her on her stomach. She whimpered, “Please don’t,” but it was too late, her punishment has begun. She yelped as he mated her, she tried many times to get away, but his fangs held her tight. She hated this, her life wasn’t worth this, wasn’t worth living anymore... She had lost all that means something to her.He moved his fangs from her neck to her shoulder and he bit down hard, she howled in pain as her blood covered his dark muzzle. He licked the wound affectingly, she lay on the ground her soul shattered, her heart stolen, her choses taken forever. She whimpered as he faced her. “Come, on Ralveren, it is only for punishment for running from your bond-pair from your mate, I will show you that I’m not a bad wolf, but it was your chose to run and issue the challenge, and I finished the ritual. “I know...” she whispered staying still. She stared at the one place that was her last hope, a hope that was destroyed. She looked up at him. He sat there in his wolf form and watched her. “It’s ok, baby, come on,” Ker whispered barring his muzzle in her neck fur. She nodded and got to her paws, a wave of nausea hit her and she whimpered going back to her belly. “Come on, you can do it, I know your stomach probably hurts but come, its ok,” She got shakily to her paws. “That’s my girl,” he whispered helping her to her paws. She growled slightly she hated having someone having to help her up. He chuckled and let her walk by herself. He walked behind her in case she tried to run again, but she kept going. He walked behind her in tell they got to the edge of the training field, than he grabbed her by the scruff of the neck and made her walk faster. She yelped as she was made to put pressure on her paw. She hissed between her teeth as he pulled her. She growled. “Well she’s back, our Alpha was right she went to opposite direction to the Hals Border,” laughed a still human Dust. Alpha Ker growled at her and she snarled back. She felt sick, really sick, “FUCK,” she screamed in her head as she shifted. She ran towards the house and nearly made it except his black wolf form blocked her way, she looked around and dived for the side of the stairs where there is a patch of bushes and puked her guts out. She groaned, “No again,” she cried as another wave hit her, but she did have anything on her stomach and couldn’t believe how bad it hurt. She leaned back and held her eyes shut, she knew what she threw up and she didn't want to see it. Food and blood, she knew there was blood. She felt someone’s arms wrap around her and started to fight. “Baby, calm down,” Ker’s voice rolled over her ears. She relaxed against her will her wolf saw him as her mate and she wasn’t going to fight him, knowing he could pin her and show her who’s alpha again excited her wolf but she couldn’t do it. “Come on let’s get you to Swoon,” she looked at him dumbfounded. “What?” she whispered she could taste the blood on her tongue. “Our doctor.”
