Jon, Holli, and Penni held their swords in hand. Along with Stryfe and Pierre they made up the team Yami trained. Since they’d arrived she had been training them doggedly. Drilling them, taunting them, and pushing them past their limits. Jon’s hands were bandaged from mana burns incurred by his own mana. The Kazen-na was a difficult technique to learn it required merging with the weapon soul to soul forming a new blade.
Each Dire Sword chose it’s wielder because they were kindred spirits. The only time they weren’t training was when they were cleaning up, eating or swimming in the Sapphire Springs. Both units of every team were trained daily the Ghost Council set out to rebuild Elteria, but first they had to stop Constantine from merging both dimensions. More importantly, they had to defeat him at full power. They only saw the other teams at night when they returned to their dorms from training. Jon concentrated a blue aura building Larion pulsing and twisting. “Concentrate.” Yami said. “Kazen…Na!” Jon shouted as the blue mana channeled into Larion glowing brightly. Jon felt a tremendous surge as he held on to his weapon.
After a moment he collapsed no longer able to hold it resting on one knee breathing from his mouth. “You’ve far to go my young lad.” she said leaning on her cane. On both sides of him Holli and Penni concentrated on their Kazen-Na’s. “Kazen…Na!” Holli shouted. A splash of water flew from her weapon hitting her in the face. Holli blinked her head and face drenched. “What the hell?!” she growled. “Soniris is a water element you have to exert better control than that.” Yami corrected her. Penni focused her mind a straight line of continual will. A misty white aura surrounded her weapon then dissipated quickly. “Again.” Yami ordered. Holli and Penni both started to refocus, Jon remained kneeling still panting. “I said GET UP! Constantine will show you no mercy, you must train like it’s for real or it means nothing.” “I can’t.” Jon said. Yami moved to him glaring directly into his eyes. “I see, so you’re ok with one of them ending up like Deacon?” Jon’s fatigue changed with one word stirring and simmering in his soul. “What did you say?” Jon said his blue eyes suddenly focused like a laser. “What? You didn’t hear me weakling?” Holli and Penni looked at each other uneasily. “Shut up!” Jon growled. “Or maybe, you want them to end up like Syren.” Jon’s eyes widened his simmer changing to a violent boil of rage his eyes glowing white hot. First the red jewel lit up, next the blue jewel, and then the white one. First a burst of blue swept over him then a burst of red and finally a burst of white. Larion morphed right before their eyes into a silverish Great Sword with a black hilt.
“Ladies, go ahead and take five.” Yami said calmly taking her stick in both hands. Holii and Penni looked at each other then back at Jon. “Now kiddies.” Yami said as Jon’s mana began to rage out of control. Jon’s weapon’s new form held as he took it in both hands. Holli, Penni, Jelenia, and Miako fled dragging along Genko as well. Jon moved forward his speed doubled. Yami watched as he attacked straight on.
Jon came down with all his force, Yami blocked sweeping him and jumping back. Jon rose wild strains of mana swirling around him. He was unseeing all he saw was red, all he saw was…Ivan Mordo. Jon charged again this time Yami flipped over him poking him in the forehead. Instantly his mana dispersed and Jon fell to the ground mana fading. Larion reverted instantly as she stood over him eyes wide. “As I suspected you are the right selection. So much mana, we’ve much to harness.” she whispered.
Jon sat looking up at the stars. It had been almost eighteen months since they had started training in Quiescent. Him Genko and the other teams grew stronger each day. The techniques taught by the Ghost Council enabled them to master their Dire Swords and for those who didn’t have swords the Shi-Rin-Na Soul Weapon technique was the way.
The Ghost Council also taught them a special type of elemental Magick called Reiki. Each house had a specific element so not everyone knew the same Magick. He was proud of his friends and new allies. Everyone had truly put their differences aside and had become a formidable fighting force.
He knew what his team could do but was curious to see how far the others had come as well. Msgt Turner had even gotten a Daion partner named Mageddon and an armlet from House Modran. There was five
