Penalty Company #1 Rise of the Goons
Chapter 1
The evening shift change at Pasha Technology Corporation building was the normal changing of the guard. Buzzing in, buzzing out, reports etc. From atop Arith Chemical plant across the bay Michael Korvin looked through his night vision binoculars. He needed one more component recently perfected in the laboratory on floor 37 of the Pasha building, a quick in and out. No muss no fuss.
The owner of Pasha Tech was Luther King boy genius. Took over three years prior when his father retired. Graduated the prestigious Morin University he also held three doctorates Astrophysics, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biochemistry. Seemed a decent chap, probably would give the isotope to him if he asked, but he had to do this-for Ziggy. It was strange, the boy saw him as some hero, he had no idea who his uncle Michael “The Wraith” Korvin really was. Michael lowered his binoculars. “To business then.” Michael said aloud plainly putting away his binoculars and walking to the edge of the building leaning into the wind, he pressed a button activating flaps on his arms allowing him to glide soundlessly over the dark foggy bay. Michael tucked his feet meeting the side of the building.
He read his scanner he was on the 40th floor that wouldn’t do. Quickly he anchored himself with a special adhesive (Also stolen from Pasha Tech.) and pulled a clear flat tube from his utility belt. Spiderlike he crawled down the glass on the side of the building till he was three floors down. He placed the tube against the glass turning his head as the UV charge activated creating a large hole in the glass pane. After the the buzz ended Michael saw the darkened laboratory before him. He leaped through the hole rolling to his feet, he had ninety seconds to do this. Fortunately he had an inside contact and knew exactly where to go, guess Luther wasn’t sharing the wealth. Michael switched his goggles to low light mode . Following the floor plan he made it to Laboratory B where the Recombinent Isotope was. Softly he reached into the cold storage pulling out a green vial of liquid. He scanned it confirming it was the isotope.
“Piece o’ cake.” he said securing the vial in a thermal pack on his belt. The alarm started and he sprinted towards the exit hole tucking and rolling through the opening he made. He opened his arms as he flew clear activating his wings and gliding into the crisp night air. Mission Accomplished . Hopefully, he wouldn’t need to do this again, he doubted that Pasha Technologies would continue to slip on their security protocols. It didn’t matter, if he had to tap into his True skill set he would, Ziggy was not dying on his watch.
Chapter 2
It had been two years since the election of President Konnor on the western continent of Sanguine. The Eastern Continent Beryl was in chaos as the tri cites once the gem of the East had been consumed by The Vicissian Wars. The Federal Government formed Fedpo or Federal Police as a worldwide organization to control the world’s crime. In the end, they were just glorified hitters for the president.
The veil had been lifted in the East thanks to terror and murder, it seemed even if unwillingly the West would soon be following suit. The problem was the growing activity in the Western capital Daax. Their interests in the East were compromised and they had failed with the Vicissians, they would not give up their capital. The first step of the Atlas “initiative” was to observe and identify the enemy. The escalating violence would yield strategic information. The city was separated unofficially into territories each controlled by an organization
Some of these groups believed they were more than just leg breaking, murderous garbage. Daniel Konnor smiled his cold grey eyes set and focused. They would not escape under his presidency. He didn’t lack the gall to act upon the enemy aggressively and concisely. There were rumors of unreal fighting abilities in some of the groups he wondered if any of them were Vicissian. One in particular was troubling the leader of the Black Orchid League Seth Korvin the eldest of the Korvin line. A lineage of killers since the Dark Ages. He was a bone crushing behemoth standing at an even eight feet tall pure muscle. In contrast the second in command Michael Korvin was quieter like his namesake a wraith. The word was that there was a mention of him only in whispers, that the moment you saw him...it was already too late. A chill ran down his spine. They had their feelers out, soon it would be time for phase two.
Luther King flew over Dozah the uptown portion of Daax. One of his two buildings had been hit and a gene recombinent isotope had been stolen. There were so many weapons they could have stolen from the vault and gained a foothold at the very least. It was experimental a mana DNA hybrid specifically engineered to combat viruses. It was still unstable and as of yet he and his team hadn’t established a way to stabilize the molecular structure. It didn’t make sense, unless...no....not that. If he couldn’t who else would even try? Since assuming the name Bioman upon creating his first suit of Biomolecular Armor a year prior things had spun out of control. He formed the Biocorps a team of specialists dedicated to clearing the scum out of Daax.
Recently President Konnor had placed them in the same class as the gangs they were trying to bring to justice. If anything was apparent Fedpo was the most dangerous gang of all. He prayed they didn’t have to go to war with them. His suit blazed with a luminescent Bioaura as he cruised along the night sky. “How’s the bio ignition ports? Readings look good.” “Lovely Tout, thank you for asking. New Relays looking good?” “Exceptional, thank you for the overhaul. And thanks for having us.” “Nonsense, we need the help. Daax isn’t gonna clean itself up. “Agreed.” She said her voice resonating nicely in Bioman’s helmet. “If you two are done sweetdickin, we got action down here at the docks.” “What is it Kommando?” Bioman responded. “”Zoots, Laconis, and Orchids oh my.” Kommando answered. Kommando crouched atop a supply crate looking through the scope of his 50. cal. Before him the Laconi family’s top four capos were meeting with the leader of the Zoots. “Switching to live visual feed.” Tout said typing on the four dimensional keyboard Dozah was neutral territory but that didn’t stop the gangs from time to time doing deals here. She saw a towering figure standing next to another crouching figure across the bay. She ran a biomap and it came back positive...It was The Korvin Brothers.
Chapter 3
Bioman scanned the scene at the docks. The Laconi family capo and his three generals looked on as members of the Zoots carried some crates into a shipping container. Vito Laconi looked over at his right hand Avis Vicenzio. He couldn’t explain it, things felt wrong. This deal had been made many times before, weapons for intel on Fedpo. Vito had a mole on the inside feeding him information. This was routine. So why were the hairs on the back of his neck at attention?
Why was he suddenly in a hurry? “Everything alright Vito?” asked Hugo Polliachi leader of the Zoots his face painted in white grease paint with red diamonds over his eyes. His hair was shaved and his skin pale white. He looked at Vito’s vexed expression. “Somethin feels wrong.” Vito said rolling his shoulders. “Relax, we’re almost done.” Hugo assured him with a smile. In the shadows, Bioman could see two groups of armed individuals approaching via the shadows around the shadowed docks.
“This is about to combust, everyone get in position. “ Bioman ordered. “Ready when you are.” Kommando said still watching through his scope. “In position.” Miasma said. “Looks like the Black Orchid league is about to intervene, but we’re on neutral ground...” Adel said uneasily floating overhead. Bioman flew around behind the docks hovering as well. “We wait till they make their move.” Bioman said.
Seth Korvin watched from the rooftop across the bay. “So, when the deal is done we move in secure the weapons and take out the Laconi's main nucleus.” Seth said nearly looming over his brother even on one knee. Your call Seth.” Michael replied as Seth
