When He Was Her.

Yea, i remember it. Clearly. Like it was yesterday. It was love at first sight, for the both of us. You see that cat on the cover of the book? Well...that was once my cat. Yea, it is. I swear. That was my baby...my Mittens.

I was eight when i saw her. A lonely stray with no food or water. She was cerainly beautiful. She was orange, with medium fur, and white paws, thus her name. And her eyes...they were the most beautiful green i have ever seen. She was regal. Stunning. Being the young animal lover i was, my heart immediately tugged in her direction. She wouldnt come to me, at first, anyway. But that didnt stop me from getting hope that Mittens would allow me to, one day. So, i fed her. I would open a can of chicken, or something, and set it out for her, along with either milk or water. I would do this repeatedly, three times a day, every day, until one certain day, she came to me.

That day, that was the day i named her Mittens.

That was the day i fell in love.
