Introduction-

Association of southeast association is basically a geopolitical and economic organization of ten countries of Southeast Asia. In starting phase countries namely Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand formed the association on 8 August 1967. Later on countries like Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam join the association. From very starting the main aim of this organization is to expand the economic and political co-operation on a regional basis. It works on multiple issues like cultural development, protection of regional peace and stability and developing trades practices

The emergence of ASEAN has made a significant difference to the regional politics of Southeast Asia. Now Southeast Asia has gained major bargaining power in world politics due to huge resources and raw materials the member country possesses.
