There was this small kingdom which lived a beautiful young princess in her earlier twenties. She had long dark brown, almost black hair and dark brown eyes to match. She sat staring out of the window of her room in the beautiful palace where she lived. She sat there dreamy about what it would be like to leave the castle. She sighed.
There was a knock on the door.
She stood up and walked over to the door. She opened it and their stood her maid. The maid bowed in honor of standing in front of the princess but the maid had a sad look on her face. "What is wrong, Eliana?" the princess asked.
"Your father has become very ill, Princess Trisha," Eliana replied. "He wants to see you at once."
"Of course." Trisha walked out of the room and down the long path to her parents room. She went to knock on the door when a couple of male servants walked out.
They both bowed at the sight of the princess.
"How is he?" Trisha asked.
"Not good, princess," the old servant replied. He had to have been about in his early fifthies where as the other was about in his late thirties.
"The doctor is on his way though, your highness," the younger one replied.
"Thank you, Joel, and Amron." Trisha walked into the dark, sad room as she walked over to her father's bed.
Her mother had died a few years earlier of some kind of unknown disease. "Father, I am here." She wanted to cry at the sight of her father but stayed strong for him.
The king took Trisha's hand and looked at her with sad eyes. He smiled at the sight of his young daughter.
"My child, everything will be alright, I will soon be with your mother again. Don't cry."
"I'm not," she lied, knowing that she would lock herself in her chambers and brake down into tears.
"Trisha, my angel, I want you to promise me that no matter what happens to me you will not trap yourself in this palace. You will go out into the world and find a man.... A man who will take care of you.... Will love you.... Be there for you no matter what.... Even though the sad times will come, my dear, you will not be alone."
Trisha didn't know how to answer her father's request so she just smiled and nodded.
"I wish I could meet that man whoever he is but, dear, I don't think that will happen."
"I'll do my best father."
By the time the doctor had arrived, Trisha had greeted the man with a welcoming smile. Oddly enough, she found the man to be attractive. He had have been in his late twenties, early thirties with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. It looked as though he was a beautiful brawns color.
"Your highness," the doctor said, bowing.
"No need for that," Trisha replied. "My father is this way." She had the doctor follow her up the stairs and down the long hall. "What is your name, doctor?"
"James," he answered. He had found the young princess to be attractive as well as any man would but he felt it would be a bad idea to tell the princess what he thought. "This is a beautiful palace. I've never been inside of a place such as beautiful as this one."
"Thank, James." She lead the doctor to the doors of her father's chambers. "This is my father's room." She opened the door and they walked in. "Father, the doctor is here."
Her father didn't reply but he tried to sit up and smiled at the young man.
"Your highness," James said, bowing.
"Please come in," the king replied.
"I'll leave you two alone." Trisha left as James listened to the king's heart.
"I'm dying, doctor."
James looked at the king in shock.
"I can feel it in my body.... This thing that's growing inside of me.... It's killing me."
"How do know?"
"I just have that feeling."
A few months had past and the king was pronounced dead by the doctor. The doctor stood with Trisha and the servants the king's funeral. "I am sorry about your father."
"It's okay." Trisha had come to know the doctor quite well and felt that she was falling for him but she had no way of knowing how he had felt.
One day, the kingdom was taken over by an evil dragon king who had wanted the princess to himself but Trisha didn't want anything to deal with the evil man. "If I can't have you for myself, then no man can have you." He had placed Trisha into a dungeon in her own palace. Trisha sat there sadden and with the love for the doctor. She had no way of getting a hold of the anyone.
Eliana had wondered into the dungeon and found Trisha. "Princess, what are you doing in there?"
"The dragon king locked me in here."
"Oh my."
"Eliana, can you find that doctor? The one who was here for my father? And tell him that I love him?"
Eliana was surprised by the princess's request but she nodded and left.
James was walking out of his office when he noticed Eliana heading for him.
"Doctor, Princess Trisha said that she loves you."
James was shocked by the words.
"Problem is that the evil dragon king has her prisoner in own dungeon. She loves you and wants to be with you."
James couldn't believe what Eliana was telling him it was unreal to him. "I love her too," he replied. "What do I need to do?"
"How about rescue her?"
"Of course but how?"
"You're a doctor you're smart.... You'll think of something."
James nodded. He thought then an idea popped into his head. "Eliana, have the princess pretend to be sick. I will be there to help her and act that she's dying."
Eliana nodded and left.
Eliana had told Trisha the plan and the princess had agreed to it.
When the dragon king went to ask the princess if she had changed her mind, she was one the ground, coughing. "Your highness, you don't look so good. I will send for a doctor." He went to Eliana and had her get the closest doctor she could find.
Eliana arrived with James following her.
"She's right this way, doctor," the dragon king said as they walked down to the dungeon.
James locked eyes with his love and then looked at the dragon king. "I need to get in that cell to check up on her."
The dragon king nodded and unlocked the dungeon door. James walked in and over to Trisha, kneeling beside her. He touched her head. "She's dying," he lied. "I need to bring her with me so I can give her medical attention."
The dragon king nodded and James picked up Trisha and walked her out of the palace. He carried her away from the evil king. Once everything was all said and done, they got married and ran away together happily.
