THE CRAWLING
by A.N.Ross
My hair suddenly stood on end. I ran down the maze like tunnels. the sound of their many foot prints came closer. I turned my head round while I ran I saw the occasional antenna or fangs round a cornor. I then bumped into something I looked it was a wall I saw another tunnel I ran down it. I looked at the various tracks on the ground. I kept running and then one of them came out of a tunnel.
It ran down another tunnel it chased me. It's jaws snapping with hunger. It was was larger then the ones that would crawl on your picnic food. I then found myself in a large chamber were the monsters crawled around. A creature the size of a swimming pool was seated. Then the one behind me caught up and let out a cry. They all looked at me and charged would I escape.
I gabbed what looked like a root and climbed it. I almost made it to a tunnel high above the chamber then I heard a buzzing. I looked down and saw some of them were flying up. I climbed and then I reached a tunnel next to the root. I crawled through the tunnel while they could not fit I then reached the top and sunlight shone on me filling me with hop. Then the buzzing came. I turned and saw the monsters crawling over the rocks and flying through the air.
I ran into the grass it was like a forest to me. I kept running then I fell. I was in a metal pipe it was rusty and full of mud I kept runnig. Then I noticed a light I ran to it. It wasn't sun it was large section of the sewer. I was as wide as Loch Ness. It had been an open man hole that hade been the light I was looking for.
Then I looked down among the muck, rubbish, and dead rats floating in the water there was a glow. The gross stuff it touched turned into the samething. I turned the other way but crawling all over the pipe were the creatures. I had a difficult desion to make become bug food or green goop.
Then the rusty pipe broke and me with the monsters fell into the green slime. I saw them turn into green slime while I grew. I grew to my normal size I saw a ladder and I climbed up it I pushed the man hole up. I was under the playpark I climbed out of the sewer and my clothes dried immedently and I ran home.

THE PAINTING
by Agria Agori a.k.a David Hendry
10th october, a day of autumn, a cold brisk day with grey sky and harsh icy winds spreads the whole of England like ink on water. Colours of orange, brown and read covers the paths of the busy streets. Gentlemen and women trudge through the leaves, muttering and swearing at the accursed weather. The singing of birds and honking of vechles echo through the alleyways, pavements and roads. All of this didi not stop dear old Ms Lucy Jenkins. Her optimistic shallow personality blocked away the honking and the swearing and heard it as nothing but silence. She looked forward to buting a gift for her husband's birthday. She found it unusual, She knew the streets fully well and she never heard of the shop she was going to.l The shop she saw was old and dark brown. The windows reflected the cars and pedestians. Plants pots sat on the green window ledge. distatcting people from murky bricks and the rusted writing, "Antiques.
She gagged at the old musty odour of smoke and dust. Old toys and books lay on the dusty carpet, surniture coated with grime on the fancy wood carvings, as if the shop owner cared nothing for his antiques, less then his shop.
"Can I help you?" questioned an oily voice.
Mrs Jenkins jumped with fright and shiftly turned around and saw a man in his 20's with scruffy brown hair, hazel eyes, a fancy white shirt, a chequered blue and beige sleevless sweater, black trousers and polished black shoes. A man like him couldn't possibly run a business in a dreadful state. His fingers were interlaced around a black wooden cane with a brass top. The way he smiled was kind, but with a slight twist of shreudness like he was a man you should not make a deal with.
"Can I help you", He repeated.
"Oh yes. It's my husbands's birthday and.."she continued.
"Ah yess", he interupted. "Luckily I have lot's of gifts for such occations"
Mrs Jenkins scanned the undescribable mess of aniques and other things. She gave the mysterious shop owner a confussed look, but he gave her a michevous grin in return.
"Follow me", He said, gesturing towards a crimson red door. He turned and and strided towards the door, the tapping of the cane followed his footsteps. Mrs Jenkins came scuttling after him. The room past the door was completely different from the entrance. Fancy vaces, all in different shapes and sizes, old toys but cleaner and fixed and mirrors large and small. But there was a strange aura in the air. Almost as if there was more than just aniques, something no human should have in their attic.
"Unique toys for children of all ages, old dress for woman and novels, big and small for smart men, gifts for people at birthdays, chirstmas and anniverseries", He spoke proudly as if that was slogan of the shop.
Mrs Jenkins saw nothing of her husbends likings, he adored books but none of them were her husbands intrest.
"I'm sorry sir", she said, "But there is nothing my husbend would like".
He gave her the same mischevous grin as if he knew she was going to say that.
"Fortunatly, he said slyly." I always have a last resort".
He strode towards a golden rope, dangling near a royal blue curtain, then he pulled the rope and the curtains parted. It revealed a wonderful gifted. By the top of her voice she cried.
"Oh I love it!"
