Cover

it's yellow for happiness
has roses violet for love
and a cherry tree our sustenance
from the blue heaven above

it shelters us
from the grief of life
and all the terror
and all the strife

when I am sad
just turn on the heat
play some calm bach
and back comes peace

someday i'll leave
find a place of my own
but i'll never forget
my childhood home

i'll come back someday
with kids of my own
i'll say 'look I remember
days long ago
when this place was a castle
and there was the throne'

the place in my room were I loved to sit and think
the place in the kitchen were I spilled my orange juice drink
the garden were I planted
the tree that I climbed
all so long ago in
that childhood house of mine

all the dreams are gone
caring for my kids
they slipped through my fingers
and ran away and hid
yet coming back
to this childhood house of mine
I regain a little of what I have lost through time

and as I get older my kids move away
I remember a little of how to play
and getting older still
the dreams come again
this time filled with angels
and the blue heaven above

then the last dream
in the form of a wish
that all should remember
their childhood dish

and no matter how far
they wander and roam
they still should remember
their childhood home
