Prologue


"Nemesis. What do I owe the pleasure?" Lucifer asked standing before the Angel of Love, Hope, and Peace. "Lucifer, I'm here to give you something that you will need in the mere future." Nemesis said tilting his head to the side. Lucifer frowned, Nemesis never showed up at his lair before until now. "Yeah?" he asked, "like what?"
"Your soul, I shall send the Angels from Heaven to give you a soul, God's Gift to you. You are not what I thought you would be, what vampire does not feed off innocents?" He asked smiling. Lucifer stood and glared at Nemesis, "is this some kind of joke?" He asked.
Nemesis touched his chest, "I do not josh, you are a very old and wise vampire, not only will you be the first given a soul by Angels, but the first given a Beloved. Only God determines the fate of all creatures and human alive, you will see exactly how fond of you God is." Then there was a light coming form Nemesis hand into Lucifer's chest.
It was as though a burden as been lifted from his shoulder, "you, Lucifer has made God very happy, he does not do this often, vampires are enemies to Angels, be sure you stay on our good side, your soul could be taken again." With that in mind Nemesis was gone, he had vanished into thin air, what else did God give him other than a soul and a Beloved that he would soon meet?


One


One thousand years later...

Naomi sat her jacket on the table and joined her mother at the counter, "look at this mess, I swear your sister is just a huge klutz." Mala said sighing. Naomi blinked in shock at the giant water puddle on the counter, "wow, that is quite a mess." She agreed.
"Where's Kai, she has to babysit Ricky tonight, seriously that girl is so irresponsible." Mala complained. Naomi chewed on an apple she picked up and watched pityingly as Mala began to cry. Her sister could seriously be that irresponsible, she heard a door closing far off and knew instantly that it was Kai entering her room. Without thinking she materialized into her sisters room on her bed.
Kai gasped and touched her hand to her chest, her eyes wide, "I swear you have to stop doing that, ever since you learned you could do that, you've been sneaking up on me!" Kai snapped. "You scare easily, besides I hadn't meant to do it, It's freaky and hard to control, I think of places and then, wham!

There I am." She says standing,"Mom's looking for you by the way, better get down there before her tears start becoming angry ones."
Naomi took the stairs this time, she had no clue why she had this ability to pop up in places without being able to control it. Her mother once told her that it happens to a lot of first timers like herself, whatever that meant. She and Kai went down to the kitchen where Mala still stood before the puddle. "Kai, were you ever planning to clean up this mess?" Mala asked her oldest daughter.
Kai shrugged and sat down at the table, Naomi knowing that this was not her business left the Kitchen to go back upstairs, this time to her room. She sat down on the bed and nearly fell out of it when a she heard a tap at her window.
She glared at the figure grinning at her through the glass window, "Good gracious, You bout gave me a heart attack, Miles!' She yelled angrily. She opened the window to let her brother in, he grinned and pushed her backwards as he climbed in.
"Sorry bout that little sister." he said heading towards her bedroom door. She rolled her eyes, "don't you believe in a front door?" She asked angrily. he shrugged, "I done forgot we had one." He said.
Naomi knew something was wrong the minute he said the words, "You weren't suppose to be out were you?" She asked narrowing her eyes. Miles sighed and closed her door in her face, she took that as a yes. Naomi was the good child. she told on her brother instantly, it was for his own good.
"How did I know you was going to tell mother?" He asked. She shrugged and walked away, Naomi wasn't in the mood to get into it with him anyways.
Miles wasn't having it, he grabbed her and slammed her up against the wall. She winced from the pain, He gets this way every time, she gets use to it. "You need to learn how to shut your little trap, believe me when I tell you this, if you don't learn how to shut it, I'll shut it for you." He growled. Naomi looked away from him to stare into space, Miles didn't scare her, she was used to his threats, she knew he meant every word, but she couldn't bring herself to being scared of him.
Miles let her go and walked away, Kai stuck her head out her room and glanced sympathetically at her,"when are you going to learn to shut up Naomi, you know how Miles get, you're crazy if you think he's just playing." She warned before closing the door again.
Naomi ran to her room and slammed the door closed, she hated her life, the only person who truly loved her was her mother. She angrily grabbed her backpack and started packing her things, life was just to plain dangerous in the house. She was going to leave, at least she almost left, she gasped as an invisible force knocked her backwards. There was a presence in her room and she could literally feel it.


Two

"Nemesis gave me a soul." Lucifer told his brother, he paced the floor and turned to look out the window. He frowned thoughtfully, the sun was setting which is why his brother was now sitting in his office.
"Let me get this straight, Nemesis, as in the all and powerful Angel, gave you a soul, a Beloved, the ability to walk during the day, and a few other powerful powers?" He asked.
