Chapter Two

That day in class our teacher, Mrs. Knight, gave us all an assignment on World Geography that involved writing a two page essay. I never got tired of doing work especially if it's as boring as this because I don't have no one to talk so that I get distracted. Instead, once I start on working I can't stop because I get into what I'm reading or writing and express everything from my mind my own way. After I've made it through half my day at school it became time for lunch meaning that I'll have to be confronting much more people other than my classes. I went to the cafeteria while searching for money from my small pouch to pay for a taco and a drink. I went to get my lunch and headed to my usual spot, outside on the ground under a tree's shade, when I got stopped by Eli who I barley recognized since I'd been trying to forget about him and his buddies all day. He had a Gatorade in his left hand and a cafeteria plate in the another. He had dark brown hair that was cut clean, shiny black colored eyes, tight red shirt, and dark blue jeans that fit him just right. "Hey what's up? Why don't you come over to our table? Every one's there wanting for you to come over especially Violet. She's been dying to know how you keep your hair so long and clean." He gestured over my shoulder with his head. I looked behind and saw Luke, Joey, Alex, and a girl who looked as if she was choking on food because of laughing so hard. I didn't know what to do so I told him OK and followed him to the table while being worried about ending their fun conversation. Once we arrived Eli put down his food on the table and slapped Joey's back telling him to scoot over. Joey, who had on a cap, black short hair, hazel eyes, a lose baseball shirt, and shorts that went an inch over his knees said,"Yo Lily, come on over and sit down. Luke was just telling us this hilarious joke about multiplication. Dude's got humor." Luke who had his shiny golden brown hair slim, rectangle glasses, long sleeved white shirt, and tight black pants turned to me and sighed,"I just asked a question on how to solve a problem from an assignment in math class. I was so stupid to ask them when I just remembered I was the only smart one out of all these dimwits. No offense Violet" "It's alright cause in my mind you all are nimrods," she giggled and continued eating. Alex who had dirty blond hair, varsity jacket, khakis, and his built body suddenly put his arm over my shoulder and cuddled me tight asking Luke,"Hey Luke, why don't you ask Lily to help solve your little problem. I bet she at least knows how to work the magic." I blushed because Eli was next to my left and Alex was on my right practically devouring me into him leaving me surrounded with boys excluding Violet who went to the restroom from laughing her butt off. "Alex your making her get red and please would you keep your hands to yourself. It looks like she's gonna burst." Luke said with a calm deep voice while eating his food looking downward. "Oops, sorry almost left you without much air," He let me go and I just kept eating my lunch," It's cause your the cutest girl I've seen who apparently reminds me of a bunny." Eli glared at him and said,"Are you kidding me? Your scaring her with your adorable side Alex. Why do you have to ruin her lunch for her?" I finally spoke and asked Luke,"Um do you need my help on your question because I can help if you want." He looked up and smiled,"Sure it's this one right here." He took out a paper from his backpack and pointed at a question that looked quite simple to me. I started explaining to him how to solve it and a short cut in not doing so much work that by the time I looked up at him to see if he got it I was confronted with shocked faces except Luke's who was taking it all in and understanding it. "So, uh, did you get it or was it too confusing?" He suddenly turned from thinking to an 'OOH I Get It' look. "So that's how it is. I was using a different method that took me somewhere different. Thanks for the help I appreciate it." "No problem." Alex, Eli, and Joey kept looking at us and hadn't moved until Violet came in to join asking,"Hello, did I miss something important?" "Nope not really. It's just that they've been blown away by knoweledge." Luke chuckled and got up to throw his food away while drinking a bottle of water. Violet sat back down and sighed,"This is pretty weird, what exactly did you do Lily or should I say Luke did?" "Pretty much what Luke just said, we've been blown by smartness." Eli said.
"Um, OK? So there's something I have to tell you guys but please don't say anything." We all nodded and just stared at her. "
