Jake walked down the street carrying his book-bag on his shoulder, hurrying considering the fact that he was late for his art class. What an impression he would make, the first day of class and he was late, amazing the gods would have it that way. He began thinking of setting his standards higher to make up for the poor start. In his hurry he bumped into a boy who seemed himself in a rush. Jake glanced at the boy with a shy half smile. The boy smiled back and for a second it seemed he looked Jake up and down with a slight hint of lust in his eyes, but only for a second. The boy turned and ran off and Jake went on his way. A few blocks down Jake notices an alley that seemed as if it could be a shortcut to his destination. After dashing through the alley and coming out on the side that housed his art class. When he approached it he stared up in amazement. The building looked more like one of those old project apartment housings than a school, but the sign was unmistakable, he was in the right place. As he walked in he spotted a slim framed man wearing a navy wearing a navy blue t-shirt and dark blue jeans. The man looked up over the receptionist desk and at Jake. "Another one," he said with a sharp edge, "just sign your name and head on up to class."
Jake signed his name and he walked toward the stairway when he realized something and went back to the counter, "I don't know which room I'm in yet it's my first day."
The man who now displayed a great annoyance which he didn't attempt to hide, reached for a book and opened it. "Jake Capuleta," he said as he flipped through the pages before he finally stopped on one and said,"Photography course, room 218 roster number 83."
The man shut the book and gave Jake a cold hard stare before Jake left for class. The walk up the stairs to the second floor seemed to stretch forever even though it lasted only a few seconds. When Jake finally got into class his teacher, Mr. Alan pointed him to a seat. When he reached the table he glanced around the three other members, besides him there were two boys and a girl, then he noticed the boy next to him was the boy he bumped into earlier. The boy gave him a dazzling smile. Jake smiled back, slightly blushing, and turned to Mr. Alan. And after three long hours of suffering through information about the basics of photography he learned before, Mr. Alan gave the first project.
"You must take twenty photographs of the other three members in your group between now and next class," Mr. Alan said gleam pouring from his voice.
The whole room burst into noise, and getting up and leaving. After Jake got outside he noticed that the other members of his group standing outside. They watched him as he walked out and the girl came over and greeted him. She gave Jake a big hug and said, "Hello I am Misa."
Jake smiled and replied, "I am Jake and it's nice to meet you Misa."
The two boys moved next to Misa and stood quietly next to her the one he met before glancing at him curiously. "This is Mikey," she says pointing to the big guy next to her, "and this is Reggie," she says pointing to the boy he had seen earlier.
"Hi I'm Jake," he said to them both, smiling shyly at Reggie's curious eyes. Then Reggie moved closer and put his hand on the base of Jake's chin and looked at him for a second as if he was debating something, and Jake tried to pull back but it was useless Reggie wouldn't let him. Then it happened, Reggie leaned in and kissed him. Jake's eyes widened in astonishment. Stop, he thought, stop get off me you weirdo. Despite what he thought his body wouldn't move, Jake was stuck his body wouldn't move at all. When Reggie pulled away Jake couldn't shake the feeling he had in the back of his head, the longing for more. Jake screamed and attempted to hit Reggie. Reggie simply dodged the hit with serene grace; Jake just started to walk away, Reggie quickly followed and grabbed Jake's hand and pulled him close. "Please Jake I don't know why I did that but can I at least explain why?" asked Reggie with a sincere look in his eye.
Jake just shook his head and turned away, after thinking for a moment he turned back and then sighed out, "Fine."
Reggie smiled and then leaned a little closer and whispered into Jake's ear, "Somewhere private."
Jake shuttered at the feel of Reggie's breath on his ear. Then he began to walk home with Reggie not far behind, his hand across Jake's waist.
As they entered Jake's apartment, Reggie sat down on the couch and Jake stood there in front of him with a peculiar look on his face. "Jake, I don't know why I kissed you like that I'm sorry but where I'm from, if there is someone you like you would kiss them, and if they liked you they would kiss back," Reggie said with slight embarrassment, "And here in America all of your love movies have loads of kissing, so I thought it was the same concept."
Jake shook his head and turned away from him. "I don't know where you grew up," Jake said calmly, "but here you just don't kiss random people out of nowhere."
"But it wasn't out of nowhere it was because of my attraction to you," Reggie said with a slight hint of rejection
