My Tree By:Caeli Alderson

When I was little I knew this guy named Fred he knew my family really well. He was like a grandfather to me. He was awesome. When I was little he had a scooter whenever we went somewhere I would sit on his lap and ride with him. He would help me fold my socks when my mom wasn’t looking. I really loved him, then one day he got sick, he went to the hospital. I couldn’t see him very much and I missed him a lot. My parents went to see him at the hospital and I would stay at my grandparents house and wait. Then one day when they came back they were crying; he had died I was really sad. My grandparents had a tree in their backyard that I could climb. I would climb that tree and imagine I was talking to him and when the tree leaves rustled he was talking back. Even though I really missed him I still felt like he was there in that tree.

I was a pirate one year for Halloween. I was walking around with my brother, sister, mom, and dad. My mom was saying how ghost were hiding behind trees and they ate little girls. I kept saying I wasn’t afraid of anything. So when we got home my dad said he was going to run to the bathroom and he would be out in a minute so he went in and when we got everything we went in. My mom told me to go to bed and my dad would be in to say good night in a minute. So I waited. All of a sudden I felt something tugging at my sheet, I screamed and my mom came in. She checked under my bed and said nothing was there. She left my room. Then I felt it again and I screamed again. My mom came in and said nothing was under there. Then right after she left I felt it again and screamed she came in and said something and my dad got out from under the bed. I was mad they tricked me but I didn’t say I wasn’t scared of anything again!
