The atmosphere was silent, dim lit and gloomy, the gadgets attached to medical equipment intoned soft clicking, buzzing and ever so often high pitch sounds. Her eyes slightly parted revealing a shield-like blur as if she had a severe case of astigmatism making it difficult to focus. Achiness embarked her body as she tried to move from her crimped position but she could barely move her numbed legs, her mouth was very dry, apparently drained from the lack of bodily fluids and extremely thirst for water. She continued to try to focus repeatedly blinking until the sight of things became more visible, that's when she realized she was in a hospital. She eased from beneath the covering to glance around the subdued ambiance. It was quite inhospitable as all the staff seemed to have gone home for the night. Her head badly pounded and presumed the hospital room walls were closing in on her as she struggled to press the call nurse button. Five minutes later, she fumbled and buzzed again and waited but no one responded so she called out attempting to move quite languid in her affliction, “Hello... Nurse... Anybody...!" She squealed sensing her restfulness was wearing away when she lifted from her uncomfortable slope thinking, “What happened to me? Why am I here? She panicked calling out, “Hello somebody..!!” Quite agitated with her IV's, oxygen, and blood pressure monitor connections, she quickly yanked as one of the monitors became unplugged and instantly the agonizing and repetitive beeping elevated. It wasn't a very good remedy for a pounding headache but she had hoped now to get someone's attention from the nursing station yet, unexpectedly, an eerie presence suddenly became conspicuous paid her a visit and announced.
“You're not alone beautiful!” It's scary raspy voice filled the room.
“No..!” Quite spooked, she shivered glancing at the unsightly figure facing her from a dark corner of the room.
“Mmm, oh yes! You warm my lustful appetite! Mmm, I can taste you now! No matter what, you will be mine!” A smutty laugh escaped.
Intensely, the awful heart fluttering, spine-chilling presence with eyes of flames swore and she screamed shakily trying to escape it's terror stumbled out of bed falling to the hard floor unconscious.

In a haze, she had awakened to the comforts of her own bed where several family members surrounded her. She glanced at her mom as she softly caressed her hand with such dismay. Her dad sat at the foot of her bed with a troubled look as he fumbled with his fingers. Her grandmother along with her older sister and brother were also in the room. They all looked to be in such grief as if something dreadful had happened yet, hoping for a miracle. Her mother sweetly glanced up as their eyes met when she greeted, “Mom! What's wrong?”
Her mother smiled and said, “Oh sweetheart, I'm much better now! God just answered my prayers. How are you feeling dear?” She softly brushed away her hair from around her eyes.
“I'm fine, I guess!” She grimaced from a sudden move.
“There now, you just take it easy. You've been through quite an ordeal sweetheart but the doctor said you're going to be okay.” Her mother added.
“Yes pumpkin, you gave us quite a scare! We really thought we lost you. The doctor said it may take several weeks or maybe longer but in due time, you'll be as good as new.” Her dad reassured.
“Several weeks! What happened to me?” She snapped glancing over at her mom while trying to make another sudden move.
She gasped.
“Oh, be careful dear! You've got to take it easy!” Her mom cautioned.
“Mom! Dad, what happened?”
“Sweetheart, you still don't know what happened?” Seeing her father's perplexity.
“You were in a very bad car accident, Teena! Don't you remember?” Her sister Jasmine blurted out.
“A car accident!” She paused. “When?”
“A little over a month ago but you're okay now little sis.” Her brother Tyree answered.
“Yes! Thank God, you're okay sweetie! I prayed and prayed that God would bring my sweet darling back! We all prayed and you're here with us now! God is so good!” Her Grandmother smiled teary-eyed.
“Grandmother, I've been in this bed all that time? “
Her grandmother sighed then answered, “You've been in bed for a while now, long before they released you from the hospital because you had been in a slight coma baby! It took nearly three weeks before you came out of it and it was only the grace of God that brought you through and we are all so grateful! You've been sleeping quite a bit and your medication keeps you quite groggy but you have
