Going away coming back Siryn’s PoV

Leaving my pack wasn’t easy by no means but it was only a single school year. I wanted to try a quick course of English. Just as quickly as the school year came on it also disappeared. I was excited to finally be going home. My parents had called and I gave them all my info when I would be landing on the closest airship and such. After being away for a year I wasn’t used to the cold anymore. The plane landed with ease and now the fun of running all the way there would begin.

Shivers raced down my body as the wind blew the snow in my face. Sighing I shifted and ran. Everything of mine from school was flown in a week before I. Last I heard my parents had set me up in my own house only a few steps from theirs. I wasn’t even halfway there and I felt like I was going to die. Shit, I had gotten so lazy. Dad was so going to kill me. Finally making it I noticed right away something was off. Loud barking and growling was all I could hear that worried me and my legs moved faster to the center of town. Wolves that I had never smelt or seen were attacking my friends and family.

Our warriors were attacking other warriors and it was such a bloody mess. Launching into the fight, I had a bit of an upper hand. I saw the alpha’s children Jace and Taylor fighting off wolves too. Fighting was common but this was a whole different pack. One smaller than ours. Slamming my wolf into a much larger wolf had some after effects, like a broken shoulder. I had knocked him down though. Barely being able to hold him down I bit his shoulder and neck making him yelp. A fairly smaller wolf came barreling at me in anger. This must be the big fucker’s mate. I waited for impact but it didn’t come. A giant wolf I knew more than any other wolf took down the smaller one. Father. Shifting into my human form my shoulder was super fucked.  Finally, the other wolves seemed to understand there was nothing more could do against us. We were stronger. Both my fathers came over. My smaller father, Leo, hugged me and I growled out in pain.

“Holy fuck. That looks awful.” My dad growled

“I’m fine. Better question though, what the fuck was going on?”

“Oh. It’s just some wolves from another pack. It happens all the time.” My father Leo said softly.

“It’s an issue we have been having for the last six months, let’s go get that shoulder of yours fixed and then I’ll explain everything.” My dad Diego said sharply.

After getting my shoulder set and wrapped, my dad started to talk.

“This has been an issue for six months like I said. Their alpha came seeking assistance and he got on Dakota’s bad side and Dakota won’t assist them. Now apparently we are enemies. They attack every few weeks. At first, there were a lot more, but Dakota and I figure they are starving off or killing each other. When they were here they asked for food and money, Dakota offered to help move them down to better land but then they fought. Now we are here.”

“If they are starving we need to help. It’s wrong to let them die because of an argument.”I watched my dad sigh before he spoke again.

“It’s nature’s way of weeding out the unfit.”

Growling, I stood up leaving the table to my parents. I couldn’t let this get anymore out of hand.

The plan. - Siryn’s POV

Four weeks passed well I got my new place together. Jace and I had talked about the situation with the other pack and he too felt bad about leaving them to die. He said his father was set on allowing the death until the alpha apologized to him. With my shoulder now being back to normal Jace, Taylor and I got a plan together. We waited and collected food for two weeks after the plan was formed.we would run in the dark taking the extra food to the pack. Knowing that if we were caught, it would get our asses in massive trouble only made it more important we got this shit right. Plans were drawn up and the food was brought to my place to be kept in the spare room. Jace and I were packing for the run and my father Leo caught us. In his hands, he had blankets and more stuff.

“ I know what you are up to Siryn. All I ask of you is to be very safe. Your father would raise hell if something worse then that shoulder befall you.”

“ I know. I just can’t stand by and watch them this way.”

“ I know sweetheart, I know.”

Slowly I hugged my father and thanked him I was glad he was the one who birthed me. Not everyone could be as good as he was.  As the last of the light faded, Jace and I shifted and Taylor threw the homemade saddlebags on our backs, Taylor being unable to shift she was to run alongside us using some of her vampire speed. She had a backpack with the extra food that didn’t fit in our bags. It felt great to be helping them, I felt so much better this way. Running out of the town we knew the approximate location where they were. Taylor had provided that, she had stolen Dakota’s land map. The bags weighed us down a good bit but it seemed to cause no issues thus far. My paws thundered on the ground, I have never gone this far outside the city. It was a wonder that wolves could even live this far out. Taylor and I would have asked the oldest son of the alpha and her brother Wyatt but he would have one hundred percent ratted us out to their father. He wanted to stay in their fathers best favor because he was up for the alpha position, I would have been up for the beta position if I didn’t give that position to my to younger twin siblings so I could run off to school.  Approaching the village of the other pack the first thing we noticed was how dead and wreaked everything looked. Now I could understand why they asked for money. Dropping my saddle bag I asked them to set the food on doorsteps that looked semi-livable or had signs of life. Shifting, I took the backpack from Taylor and walked towards the alpha house. It was just as bad as the rest of the homes and had a single light inside. Not a proper light, most likely a candle but it was still light. The door creaked open when I gave it a light push. I didn’t see anyone inside but someone was here I could hear them moving around. Quietly I walked up the stairs and instead of there being a hall like a normally alpha house there was just a giant room. The male that was up there was as tall and as large as Dakota but far underfed. Before I could wave when he turned around, my eyes locked on the giant scratch that went across both his now pale green eyes. I gasped in shock. I threw my hand over my mouth knowing he heard me.

”I heard you breathing the moment you stepped inside. Who the hell are you?”

The Blind Alpha. - Siryn’s POV

Slowly getting closer I set the bag on the ground. “I’m siryn. I’m Diego the Beta’s oldest son. I’ve brought you food and blankets.”

“ we don’t want your help. Dakota made that very clear we could just go and die off for all he cared.”

“Please let me help. I can’t watch your people die because of an argument.”I got close enough to the alpha that I touched his hand. The tingles that shot out as we touched was enough to scare me. I knew what we were but could he know.

“Don’t touch me. Son of Diego, I don’t need your help. Run along home before I let my warriors eat the alpha’s children.”

“Please, don’t make…….”His fist slammed against the creaky wall of the house and yelled making me run. Finding Jace and Taylor surrounded by warriors I swallowed the lump in my throat, the warriors back off and let them run with me. I felt like I was choking on my own breath as we finally got home. His warning wouldn’t keep me away, even now my mind drifted to him. I could see his dirty brown hair and his green eyes, his sharp lips curled in anger. He was dirty but that could be fixed with a shower and he could use some food, then he would be perfect. Not that he wasn’t already perfect. Come first morning light, I needed to speak with Dakota. This also meant confessing I took them food and had Taylor steal from his office among many many other things. Crawling into bed, tears dusted my cheeks. Those poor wolves were in dire need of things but he couldn’t drop his male pride to help them. Falling asleep I dreamt of him. My mate.Morning reared its ugly head and I was so no ready for my day to start. As I was ready to leave my house, my father was walking towards me. I could feel his anger as it flowed off him in a wave. “What the fuck is the meaning of this! Dakota had this delivered to him this morning. I want some damn answers.” Taking the paper from my dad Diego I read the handwritten note.

Alpha Dakota,

Allow me to say this only once, keep your beta’s children off my land. I don’t need your handouts, they brought my people food and supplies that we don’t need. You made it clear you don’t wish to help us so keep your damn people off my land.  Next time I will allow my warriors to keep them.

Alpha Lucio.

Well shit.Looking at my dad I choose my words wisely,“ I was worried about them. I was right to be….”

“I told you nature was weeding….”

“ I won’t let nature weed out my fucking mate! Don’t you fucking understand? That blind fucking alpha is my mate. I can’t just sit and…..”

My father pulled me to his chest.“ I’m pissed you went and did this without so much as a word to me or your father, do you know how worried he would have been if he found out?”

“Dad I’m fine. But my mate he is not. His stupid pride is killing his people. They have no food, water, or even proper homes, we need to help them. Please for my sake.”

“I will speak with Dakota, but don’t hold your breath he is really pissed at you all.”

“Thank you…”

Don’t thank me. You are also going to be punished. Training with the warriors for a month every morning at five am sharp.”

I Hate Training.- Siryn’s POV

I knew that I had gotten lazy but I didn’t think I had gotten so lazy that training seemed like death. My legs and core burned in tremendous pain. I could see the judgement in my father’s eyes. Well I was on the seats coast studying and I found they had a overload of cheese puffs. Those fuckers were my favorite. There was only one person I could blame for that and that was him. Growing up that was his and my shared snack. Training consisted of many reps of running, jumping, climbing, spearing and so much more. If I had known he was going to push me like this, I would have stretched before hand. I figured dad had at least some compassion for his lazy cheese puff loving first born. After training dad said Dakota wanted to talk to me. Dakota was my uncle but that didn’t mean he wouldn’t chew me a new one.

“Dad if I die, put cheese puffs in my coffin please.”My dad glared at me clearly not amused by my comment. Sighing I walked towards Dakota’s home. Felix was outside. With summer coming, the snow would melt. We had snow nine months out of the year. Felix grabbed me and pulled me into a hug.

“Thank you for helping them. Jace and Taylor told me.”

“Their alpha…. he’s my mate Uncle Felix. He’s stubborn and refuses my help.”

“Things will work themselves out.”Sighing I walked inside. Jace waved at me and Taylor gave me the peace sign. Waving back, I went to Dakota’s home office. I knocked before I went in. Dakota was looking through paperwork.

“Good afternoon Siryn. How your trip to Lucio’s land fair you?” He said sternly.

“You must already know. You got the letter.”

“Oh but the letter doesn’t tell me you are mates. Your father told me that.”

“Then clearly you can understand why saving him is even more important to me.”

“Here’s how things will work. Once a month you may take them food and I will pay to have building materials flown in. You and four warrior wolves will be the ones to take the food. If he responds to that well, I will see about helping more.”

Hugging Dakota I thanked him. “I’m only helping because he’s your mate, I want to see my nephew happy.”

Dakota and I totally had arguments before. We fought when I left school. Felix was my saving gracewhen it came to fighting with Dakota. Dakota stood up from his desk and handed me a paper. It had the names and all the food items to be brought. “Have a good day Siryn, best of luck.”

“Thank you. I really mean it.”Leaving his office I felt relieved. Dakota did have some kind bones in his body when it comes to us. With paper in hand I went to the storage to collect my bags and items. My mate would accept me or not. But regardless I was going to help his people.

Unwanted Visiting. -Siryn’s PoV

“Be safe Siryn. Mate or not he’s not really safe.”

“I know dad. I promise to be safe.”

I’d figured we would be leaving soon but the next morning that wasn’t anywhere on my radar. So when my dad brought me my four new travel partners, I groaned. With summer now on its way the temperature had risen enough to use the snowmobiles. Six in the morning was a really ugly hour. Loading all the bags onto the snowmobiles took only a little while. Setting off at seven am we wave goodbye and mind linked Dakota to say we were off.  Despite the cold that was still slightly bitter the ride went smooth. Pulling up on Alpha Lucio’s land some wolves were out moving around. Seeing us a bunch of team moved to hide. Grabbing the bag Dakota had specially prepared for the alpha I hopped off the snowmobile and went to the alpha house. My path was blocked by warrior wolves who were out of shape.

“You are not permitted to go any far….

”Get the fuck out of my way.” I snapped already not in the mood for this shit. I could hear them speaking softly and then I heard one say that the alpha said to let me through. With the bag on my back, I made my way through the cold broken house once again. I already knew he would be angry and cold towards me. That was just a given. When I made it to the top floor the alpha was sitting on the corner of the desk.

“You clearly don’t listen do you, mate.” He hissed out.

“So you know what we are.”“I’m blind, not stupid.” He snapped bitterly.

“I.. Uh… brought you a special bag. I’ll just set it over…”

“Bring it here.”

“Right.”Grabbing the bag I brought it closer. Setting it onto the side of the desk I turned to tell him where I had placed it. His hand snapped right around my neck he slammed me into the wall closest to the desk. Scratching at his hand I tried to get him to let go of me. This lets me get a horrible good look at him. He was clearly older than me and taller than my six feet. He had another foot and a half on me. Finally, after a minute of so he dropped me and I slid down the wall gasping to catch my breath. Standing up, I put a distance between us and rubbed my neck.

“I didn’t want you back on my fucking land, what part did you not get, are you fucking dense?”

“Am I dense? You are the one who is fucking dense. You are the one who is letting your own fucking people die because you can’t suck it up and say sorry to Dakota. You even go as far as choking me, how dare you! I got your people food and shit, I even negotiated for building supplies so you can rebuild, but this is the Thank you I get, a big fuck you huh? Well fuck you too you stupid pride consumed asshole.”

Throwing the letter from Dakota with the building supply list inside on the floor I turned and stomped away. Remembering that I would be back next month I stomped back up the stairs and looked at him. “Back so soon?”

“Fuck you. I’ll be back next month so grow the fuck up in that time.”Turning back around I stomped down the stairs and threw the barely holding door. Everyone who was given food turned and looked at me. I helped out on the other side away from the pack house. The last thing I needed was another run in with tall, dark and mother fucking crusty. His pack members were already whispering about what they heard me yell. This is not how this shit was supposed to go. Freaking alphas.

Building Supplies.- Siryn’s PoV

Last week's meeting was still on my mind.“How did it go?”

“Oh,about this well,” I said pulling my sweater off to show my bruise.

“Fuck. What the hell happened, Siryn?”

“He was slightly crusty, no biggie. I helped him understand how I felt.”

“Please tell me you hit that fucker for that shit.” My dad Diego said earning a slap on the back of the head from my dad Leo.

“Siryn, you have to be there when the building supplies get flown in, I will also be going so don’t be surprised if fights break out,” Dakota said. “ I do understand. I will try to be as useful in the keeping the peace as I can be.”

With today being that dreaded day when we go meet the plane, I had a lot of worries. Dakota could rip my mate limb from limb pretty easily and I would be given two options, ones I don’t want to think about but they kept creeping back into my head. Leaving our pack in my dad’s hands, Dakota, six warriors, and I set off for Lucio’s land, I was still mad about my neck so he had to still be mad too.“Siryn I don’t expect a warm welcome so relax. I can sense your fear and worry from here.”

“I know Dakota. I do, I just don’t know how unpredictable he’s feeling today.”

Arriving on the outer of his land I saw children playing with toys one of the warriors had taken to bringing all on his own. I expected to be met with growls and some attacks but everyone looked pleased to see Dakota. Dakota started to speak with some of the pack members who were around. The doors to the pack house were smashed open for the first time, I saw Lucio outside. This time though he was walking with a limp and smelt of fresh blood.“I don’t want you on my land.” he snapped his attention to Dakota solely. The warriors with us watched carefully, Lucio was staying quite a bit back clearly aware he was in danger. “Please Alpha Lucio let us talk inside.” Dakota said keeping his cool.I walked closer to Lucio. He turned his head towards me and listened before sniffing the air.

“Of course your here.”

“Dakota is right. Let’s take this inside where you two can talk or fight or whatever the fuck alphas do to make deals.”Lucio growled but turned towards the pack house. Dakota And I took this as a moment to follow. Getting inside it was clear something had gone on inside the pack house. My worry grew as we passed so much more broken items covered in blood and fur.

“Lucio what the hell happened in here? It looks as if there was a war in here.”

“A few rouges. Nothing more.”

Sighing I knew I had a lot of work to do with him. Carefully I took the backpack off my back and pulled out a few of the wet wipes. They had come out of the medic kit. I had literally dumped the whole kit in my bag. Lucio had sat in a barely still standing chair. Dakota found something to sit on and they were arguing. Approaching Lucio with the wet wipe I opened one and touch the cold towel to his face where his lip had been split open. He jerked back and grabbed my hand growling lowly at me.

“Stop touching me for fuck sakes.”

 “I’m sorry” I mumbled.

He let go of my hand and I didn’t move. Instead, I looked at him and the wet wipe still in my hand and spoke quickly.

 “I’m going to touch you.”

Before the words set in I was scrubbing his wounds clean and he was hissing. Once I was done he looked very displeased.

 “You don’t listen.”

“That’s something we can both agree on.” Dakota said nicely.

After an hour of non-stop yelling, they came to a deal that when Lucio’s pack got back on their feet, they would repay Dakota. The plane arrived and Dakota left leaving me and Lucio alone. He didn’t say anything at first but then he started to speak.

“Thank you. For helping my people I mean.”

“Your welcome of course. Can I clean the wound on your shoulder? It’s bleeding.”

He looked conflicted but nodded slightly and I grabbed my bag. Pulling the box that Dakota was sitting on up to Lucio. I sat down and he pulled his shirt off. He had four long and deep claw marks on his back. To my surprise he also had a tattoo on the tops of his shoulders. It was once beautiful, now ruined with many scars.

He hissed every once and awhile when I cleaned his wounds. His hand shot out and slowly touched my face. I closed my eyes as his fingers brushed my eyelashes.

“You have long eyelashes. What color are your eyes? Also your hair.”

It was hard not to smile as he wanted to know about me.

“My eyes, they are bright ocean blue, hence the name Siryn.”

 “That’s fitting,” he said plainly.

“My hair is the deepest black you can imagine.”

 “That’s rare among wolves.”

“Black hair? We have many wolves with black hair.”

“No, I mean black hair and blue eyes. It’s usually black hair with brown, green or hazel eyes.”

Conversation flowed smoothly between us. It was clear he was trying to be polite.

Helping.-Siryn’s PoV

Dakota rounded up enough people to help to rebuild. Naturally, I had to go too. Summer had melted the snow so now we could pull out our four-wheelers and four-wheel drive cars and trucks. The whole drive to Lucio pack, I ended up sleeping. I had spent the previous night with my siblings. We played video games all night until we passed out. Not my smartest move of course.

My parents and I were the only ones who came out of my family. Dakota said he would be around after he finished some work. Getting out of the car it was like I was on autopilot. I went straight to the alpha house to see Lucio. To my shock, he was helping take the whole alpha house right down to the frame. Seeing his desk on a sheet of wood I went over and laid on it. I would have been able to sleep if it wasn’t for Taylor and Jace making me help them. Work was the last thing I wanted to do. Instead of helping I went to help Lucio. I touched his back and startled him. He growled.

 “I didn’t even sense you.”

“I’m unsense-able,” I said laughing at my own joke.

Remembering the cookies I had scored this morning from my dad Leo, I pulled them from my jacket and spoke.

“I brought you something, you like chocolate right?”

His entire being perked up. Touching his free hand I moved his hand and set the cookie in it. He carfully brought it to his mouth and devoured the thing.

 “Thank you.”

“Mmm, no problem,” I said my mouth stuffed with my own cookie.

Helping Lucio had somehow turned into me annoying him with a few hundred questions.

“How can you tell it’s me?”

“That’s easy, your scent and your heart beats strangely. It flutters I believe the word is.”

 Blushing I covered my face.

“Your heart is beating fast now.”

“Stop,” I said laughing

 “Any more questions?”

 “Hmm,yes. I have a ton.”

“Lay them on me I guess.”

Why did I not know about your people and you being so far out here, also what happened here?”

“My people and I… we were and I guess we still are the last survivors of the largest pack on this land. We lived way father up north but after a long winter most of our people starved or died trying to escape. We were plagued with massive rouge attacks after that. We hadn’t needed anyone to help us ever so we didn’t bother to make friends with the packs around us. I grew up here for most of my life, I was three when my father moved our people. He died shortly after and my mother ran the pack. When I was a teenager we were attacked again on this land. they killed a good portion of the people we had left. Three hundred lived through the move and now we have about fifty people. Though now I'm not sure."
"Your eyes, that happened then?"
"Yes. In that battle, I was attacked protecting the luna. My mother. She died no matter how hard I tried to protect her."
"I'm sorry. I can't imagine what that is like."
"Tell me, What's your family like?"
"Well you have met my father Diego, then there's my other father Leo he birthed me. I have two other siblings though I know I'll probably have more. I Think I would like more if I was -----"

“Siryn a word with you please."
"Okay, I'll be there in a moment."
Looking at Lucio I brushed a piece of hair that had fallen in his face out of the way.
"You need a haircut, Also i'll be back in a few moments, My father Diego wants the speak with me."
Lucio nodded not saying anything more. Jogging over to my parents I slipped in the mud. now coated in mud I made it to them.
"What happened."
"I needed a mud bath."
"I doubt that. Anyways, Your father and I are going back to the pack. Be safe. Dakota is on his way so no worries okay."
Going to hug my father he backed away from me.
"Hug me." I whined.
"Yeah no."

I watched as they drove away before I walked back to Lucio. He sniffed the air before his nose scrunched up in distaste.
"You smell like wet dirt."
"Yeah. I slipped."

Mistake.- Siryn’s PoV

By the end of the day, we had a lot done. We had levelled the ground and even started to rebuild. Tents had been set up for the pack member for the night and a few of us had offered to spend a few nights helping make sure they were safe. I was one of the few who offered. Lucio was given a tent all to himself in the beginning but after talking with him Lucio and I ended up bunking with each other.

The light had long faded out before Lucio and I even showed signs of sleep. He was laughing at a joke I had made and I couldn't help but watch him. My eyes locked on his lips and I leaned in pressing mine against his. He growled and shoved me away from him his claws out enough that he split open my skin. I could feel the blood running down my shoulder. Slowly removing myself from the tent I went to look for one of the other members of the group. With them all being warriors I knew they could help with my wounds. Somewhere along the lines I had gotten disoriented and just sat down. Instead of thinking about this logically I started to sob. Without realising I was so close to Lucio and I's tent. Unaware to me was that he was inside listening to me sobbing.

I never heard or saw him moving in the dark. So when he pulled me against his chest I attacked him. I felt my human nails scratch his face and the scent of his blood hit me. I froze and tried my hardest to not grab him and have a good look at the damage I had done. I knew I should just leave him alone but I was worried. Following him back to the tent I flicked the lamp light on. I had managed to get him right up along the side of his face. There was a slight line of bleeding but not too horrible.
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine"
"But it's not. I hurt you."
"You are not the first and I hardly doubt you will be the last."

Gee thanks. Because that honestly made me feel any better. My trusty bag wasn't far from my own cot. Carrying the bag over to where we had been sitting and laughing opening the last few antiseptic wipes.

"I'm fine"
"Let me clean----"
"What part of I'm fine don't you fucking understand!" He said lashing out at me.

I backed off realising he needed his space. Watching him for a while I soon became aware that he had fallen asleep in one of the chairs. Taking the wipe with me I got close enough and tried to clean his wound. He spoke suddenly scaring the complete shit out of me.

"Touch me with that and me yelling at you will be the least of your concerns."

I more than touched him with the wipe. I scrubbed the wound clean and made sure no infection would set in. With one more clean wipe left, I turned to put it away. Lucio grabbed the front of my shirt and gently took the other wipe out of my hand.

"Off" he mumbled.

Confused I looked at him.

"Off what?"
"Take your shirt off."
"Oh. My wound. "

Slipping the sweater off my shoulders I set it on my cot. Lucio took a deep breath smelling the air again.

"I made you bleed quite a bit."
"I'm going to plug that nose one of these days."
"Oh. I see. "

Lucio was a lot less gentle with the wipe. I hissed as it felt like he was scrubbing off the first four layers of my skin. Out of nowhere, I spoke.

"Let me kiss you."

Lucio said nothing as he stood up and walked away into the dark. Slipping a new shirt out of my bag I put it on. He needed some alone time. I was just going to give him that. If I could.

You're not going.- Siryn's PoV

On the very last day of the build, the whole pack pretty much came to help. So by the end of the day, the house was done and pretty much liveable. The few last things to be done were to turn the power on and wait for the shipments of important appliances and stuff. For that, though we had to help clean and prepare a landing strip for a much much larger plane.

For the rest of the time after the night, I had asked Lucio to kiss me I had remained at a distance away from him. He was closed off from me. He didn't want to talk or even hang out in the same room with me for longer then he had to. That made me unhappy but I knew he was still trying to adjust to a lot.

Sitting on the floor in the newly built pack house I watched as they brought in the giant desk from the house before. It had been restrained and looked amazing. Lucio had a woman showing him around the house and telling him where he could find things. I couldn't help but feel bitter it was my job to help my mate. Jealousy sat firmly in my stomach ready to rear its ugly head at any sexual or not normal behaviour.

Pulling my legs up to my chest I sat there for a few moments before I left the upstairs room. Wandering around the pack house I found where our cots from the tent went. Instead of being packed up or only one being unpacked they both were. Why would Lucio need both of them open?

The few reasons I could think about made me angry. Going outside my pack members were tired you could see it on everyone's faces. I too was tired and wanted to go home and just sleep. Dakota who was here to help finish the house had purposed a feast to celebrate the new homes. Lucio didn't even get a word in that matter because Dakota went right on ahead. I watched our warriors shift and form a fast hunting group. Yawning I watched as they ran off, Dakota explained this fast hunt formation to Lucio. In no time we would have fresh kills to eat. I could hear Lucio thanking Dakota.

This made me happy but also frustrated me beyond belief. They in four meetings had a better relationship then we did in a month and a half. It was super frustrating. Sneaking away I went to the upstairs office and curled up on the floor using my bag as a pillow. I couldn't really sleep no matter how hard I tried. I could smell and hear the fire outside crackling. The hunting party must have been very lucky because of the cheers I heard. The door downstairs opened and I stilled my breath. Lucio came up the stairs and walked slowly forward. He turned and looked at me tilting an ear. He walked over to where a closest now stood and pulled out the blanket my father had given me for the alpha. Slowly he walked my way. He would stop and listen. I let out a soft sigh still reasonable to be able to fake sleeping. It helped him find me. He slowly covered me with the blanket and he didn't leave like I figured he would. Instead, he laid on the floor not too far away from me. I waited till he looked calm and relaxed before I rolled over and tucked against him. He stilled completely. He even was very softly breathing as of not to disturb me. Smiling softly I got as close as I could to him. I could tell how uncomfortable he was, but he didn't make any move to run so I would call that a victory.

                                                                           * * * * * * *

After at least laying there for an hour it was time to go home. Getting up I yawned and stretched. Sleeping on the floor had caused me slight discomfort now in my back but shit it was worth it. Packing my things up I could tell Lucio was visibly angry. He had even taken to moving my bag and taking out all the contents. I packed it back up for the second time and tried to leave.

"You are not leaving. "

He was blocking my way and wouldn't move. Trying to push past him only made him even angrier.

"You are mine. You are not going."

Dakota said nothing as he shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

Did my alpha just abandon me?

Mine. - Siryn's PoV

Dakota having abandoned me here made me wonder if my parents already knew of me being kidnapped. Dakota should have done something more had they of not known. Right?

Confused I sat on the floor the power now on and lights working. Lucio looked perfect under all the lights despite him being filthy. I probably was no better. My mud puddle bath and all.

"I need a bath!" I whined scraping dried mud off my arms.

Lucio seemed to remember something and grabbed my hand pulling me roughly. Pulling me into a much smaller dark room off the hall down the stairs. I felt him move.

"Shower"
"It's dark... I can't see."

Realising he didn't turn on the light he began to fumble around for the switch. He must have found it because the light flicked on and I could see the shower. It wasn't anything amazing but it would get the job done. Leaving me in there alone I undressed and turned the shower on. Like a normal person, I waited for it to heat up. I stepped under the spray just as the door opened.

The water was freezing cold.

"I forgot to say that Dakota told me it worked but it would be really cold."
"Yup. He was right. It's really cold."

Lucio started to laugh. He was also quite filthy.

"Come join me."

He stilled and left the room quickly. Shrugging I cleaned myself quickly. Realising I had no towel I laughed slightly. Going from the bathroom to the bedroom where my bag now took only a moment. After getting dressed I went to look for Lucio. As I went to walk by the outside door a knock scared the shit out of me. Sniffing the air I smelt my father Diego. Slowly opening the door I peeked at him. The glare I got back was one of a not very happy parent. He had the Suv I could see the lights glowing in the distance. Lucio came from the other side of the house and he sniffed the air. The annoyance grew on his face more and he didn't even try to show he wasn't annoyed.

"Siryn next time you decide to spend the night let someone know. Your father and I were worried."

Before I could plead my case my father grabbed me by the ear making me yelp in pain. Lucio who was just standing back grabbed my fathers wrist and removed it from my ear. Shoving me behind him I watched over his shoulder as his let my father's wrist go.

"I think you need to leave."

"Excuse me?"

"You need to leave now."
"Not without my child I'm not."

"I do believe your grown adult son is more than capable of protecting himself."

"While that maybe be true I don't trust you. Mate or not you have already hurt my child and----"

Lucio wolfed out.

Both of them went flying into the yard. I was frozen in place. I couldn't yell for them to stop. Mind linking Dakota I prayed that even over this distance he would get it.

Sinking to my knees in the doorway I started to sob. They would kill each other and I would be powerless to stop them. I felt arms around me.

"Stop crying. Please stop crying. It okay. We are okay. I'm so sorry mate."

He picked me up despite him also being injured. I was weak.

                                    * * * * * *

When Dakota arrived he had my other father with him. Dakota gave my father an ear full of not so nice words. Then he started to walk my way. But not before my father bitched again.

"He didn't say he was staying----"

"I fucking let him stay. All you had to do was ask."

Dakota also gave Lucio an ear full. He also brought up the choking incident. Lucio didn't make excuse he said he knew what he did was wrong. Glancing at my father who was getting an ear full from my other father. I stick my tongue out at him. The flick to the forehead came out of nowhere.

"Behave Mate."

I glared at him. Before he could make a move to stop me I grabbed his hand and licked his palm. I watched him cringe. Dakota growled at my father and took them home.

I looked at Lucio who was touching a wound on his arm.

"I'm sorry about my father."
"It's okay. It's only a flesh wound."

I couldn't keep the look of what the fuck to myself. Alphas are strange creatures.

Harder Training. - Sriyn's POV

My father Diego came in the SUV and got me at six am sharp. We didn't talk as he drove home. It was only as he parked the SUV that he spoke.

"You froze again. I saw it."

"Now you see why I gave up the beta position to go to school."

"Siryn you do fine as long as it's not anyone you care about on the other side but as soon as you have an emotional attachment to both sides your just blank."

"I just... Its like I can't move. Everything shuts down and I
lose it."

"We need to fix this. Now. This will cause issues as the mate of an alpha."

"I know. "

Getting out Dakota and my father whispered about somethings. It was clear when they switched to mind link I wasn't welcome to know what they were talking about. Suddenly Dakota grabbed my dad whipped him to the ground. I heard the barks and growls and my feet felt frozen in spot. My hands were shaking as I brought them to my face.

"Stop.." My voice low and not powerful enough. I heard my father yip in pain and my knees felt weak.

Don't you dare freeze up you have to do something! Bring my shaking hands to my face I yelled.

"Stop it right now!"

Both pulled back from each other. No words were spoken to me as they walked off together. Leaving me to my thoughts I tried to pinpoint to exactly the moment I had started to have this issue, but I couldn't find anything that would cause this.

                                      * * * * * *

Two weeks went on where Dakota would attack my father in front of me. Each attack got worse. Looking at them fighting before me my hands still shaking but this time I wolfed. My paws moved and I threw myself between them. With a growl, they pulled apart. My father also in wolf form licked my cheek as if to say I did it.

"Come on get shifted. Food needs to be delivered."

Remembering that it's been two weeks since I saw Lucio last my heart did some fluttery shit just thinking about seeing him. Smiling to myself I ran to get dressed. I had so many things I wanted to ask Lucio now that I had time to think about many questions.

I pulled random clothing on and looked in the mirror. I had on tight black sweatpants and a grey long sleeve on. I looked somewhat decent. A knock on my door made me groan.

"Come on Siryn we haven't got all day."

"I'm going. Just hold on."

Grabbing scissors and a comb I smiled to myself. It was haircut time. Running out of my personal cabin I jumped in the jeep with my dad.

"Okay let's go."

"Hold on lover boy."

"Eh. What?"

"Do you plan on spending the night?"

"Probably."

My dad grabbed a paper bag out of the glove compartment and handed it to me. Looking at him confused I opened the bag.

Condoms.

Busting out laughing I handed them back. He raised his eyebrow at me.

"I don't need those!"

"Oh yeah. Why's that?"

"Lucio won't even kiss me at the moment so fucking is a long long hike up the mountain of nope right now."

My dad busted out laughing. Of course, he would find this great. The food shipment this time was twice as much. Dakota explained this was so that when he gave the new stand in beta the instructions for training that they had enough food to feed wolves that were bulking up.

When we pulled up to the pack it looked amazing. The houses built and children playing outside. One thing was missing though. Lucio.

Figuring Lucio was in the strange open office upstairs I hopped out of the car and jogged inside. Closing the door behind me I had one goal, sneak up on him. Making it to the stairs I was surprised I had gotten that far without him saying something but when I reached the top of the stairs I knew why. Lucio laid passed out in his chair his head on his desk. Paperwork all around him. Pulling out my phone I snapped a quick photo for later, you know blackmail and shit.

Quietly I watched him for a few moments before attempting to wake him up. He woke up pretty easily.

"Hey. Watching people sleep is creepy you know."

A blush crawled up my cheeks as I told him to shut up over and over again. Following Lucio outside, he told me some plans he had for a small garden in the summer months.

"So I think if we plant a small tree here----"

Everything went so quiet. Then growling broke out. Turning around I watched as both Dakota And my dad attacked Lucio. Panic sailed through my blood but I took a deep breath and yelled.

"Stop this shit right now!"

They all split. But that didn't stop the feeling of rage in my gut. Lucio had a small gash on his cheek that was bleeding slightly. Without warning my wolf shoved me back. My wolf who had been silent all this time and I felt the true power my wolf held. Never before had I been able to control my shift meaning I could use my claws without a full shift. Looking down my human hands had claws. My wolf had made both Dakota and my father a target. My wolf and I were all in for attacking them. I needed to protect Lucio. By all means.
