Abraham’s Daughter ~ (The Story)

Dark clouds swirled above the old house. All was silent. Her father, Abraham grabbed her by the hand and told her to stay in her room. “Stay my daughter” he said with sorrow in his voice. The girl remained silent as he left the room. She quietly snuck downstairs and ran into the barn outside. When she was there, she hid and watched Abraham take Isaacs’ (her brothers’) hand. Abraham took him to the top of the hill.

She dared not breathe, think or speak. She was as silent as a mouse. She gave a small gasp as a handsome yet evil angel appeared to them. The angel raised a sword of diamonds that was about to cut Isaac’s head off.

“No! Stop!” the young girl yelled, running towards them with her bow. He stopped his sword mid-air, and then lowered it. His blood red eyes glared at her and asked “What is your name, child?” Her long, braided brown hair blew in the wind and she spoke softly “I have none”.
The angel looked surprised. And with a strange voice he asked “How can this be?” She then glanced at her father. “He never gave me one”.

Just as her father sent word for Isaac to die again, the young girl raised her bow. The sharp, deadly arrow was aimed right at his eye. “How darest you child defy your father. You better let young Isaac go!” the angel yelled. When he did so, the skies rumbled and the grass died.

All was silent. The young girl was then named Katniss. Isaac, Katniss, and Abraham lived a silent life and never saw the Angel of Death again…
