Divorce
It starts with a small argument
It escalates to a big argument
Words are said that aren't meant
Names are called that shouldnt be said
Shouting to the top of your lungs at each other
Kids covering their ears in he next room
Huddled under their blanket wishing it would stop
Divorce
I can't do this anymore, you hear
The crushing words come next
We Are Done
What does that mean is the fighting over?
Daddy comes into my room with a bag in his hand
Daddy puts me on my knee and tells me he's leaving
How does he expect a five year old to understand this?
Divorce
My parents hate each other
Tell your mother I said
Tell your father I said
I've been made the messenger
Pick a side is what they want
But each side is the wrong side
Every other weekend with dad, Weekends with mom
