Prologue
“No, no, this can’t be happening, not to me, not now,” I repeated grabbing head with both of my hands shaking it again and again while endless tears continued coursing down my now redden cheeks. “She can’t be dead! My mum can’t be dead! This morning I saw her and she was perfectly okay! She-”
Grabbing me by my shoulders, the policeman shook me violently, “Miss Jones you have to get it clear this was clearly a murder, I’m sorry but nothing can be done now though we promise we will do our best to arrest the culprit.”
I stared at him blankly before gazing at my once peaceful house. Although now it was it surrounded with that “crime scene” tape it hadn’t change at all, it looked the same, nothing seemed different unless if you considered the fact that from now on there would only be one person living in it…that is me…

Two months later
After my late mother’s funeral ,though much arguments, I had to move in with him, the most hateful person I knew ,even my mum’s murderer wouldn’t beat him on that because after all it was his fault ,if he had stayed with us ,none of this would have happened, that is the person was none other than the person I was obliged to refer to as my dad.
From my point of view, moving with him was not the best alternative; I would have rather stayed in a rotting cell than in a house with him and worse of all, his newly wife-to-be as had been my mum 19 years ago.
Lying carelessly on the couch I glanced from time to time at the animated images viewed by the TV.
“Oh Daniel I can’t be with you…”said the pathetic redhead from the film I was watching or rather glancing at.
What a soap opera! I thought snorting. Rolling on my back for the zillionth time, I was now facing the back of the leather couch. At this rate I was seriously going to become a couch potato.
“Reagan!” THE girlfriend called out from the kitchen.
I rolled my eyes before retorting, “What do you want?”
“I was wondering whether you were already prepared for tomorrow…are you?”She answered.
“None of your business” I had the urge to say but then found a more satisfying reply. “Yeah I’m ready, and I even got my hands on some lacy push-ups bra, seems like someone lack in confidence!” I smirked though I knew she couldn’t see me.
And I in return I got a warm laugh. How could she find that funny, I was openly ridiculing her! God she was that irritating!
The next day after cleaning me and putting some jeans and shirt, in the kitchen I was welcome by one shocking (and disgusting) scene which was my dad and Olivia (the girlfriend) kissing openly. The instant I stomped my hand on the massive wooden table, they bolted apart and I said nonchalantly, “Way too much view and dad do remember that you and your bitch are going to be the cause of me going lesbian and trust me, when that will happen, you’ll have to keep in mind that you’ll be the cause of that.”
Grabbing a muffin and my bag on the way I barged out of the house leaving the two of them in utter silence.
One strike for me! Awesome because I had decided after much deduction that it was the way I was going to have my revenge on him for leaving, I was going to ruin his whole life whether emotional, social or professional.
Getting in my white Volvo, I whispered, “Don’t worry mum right now I’m handling everything.”
