“Minun! Minun! It’s terrible! Please, wake up!” Plusle shouted, as he ran into my room.
“What? I’m awake...” I mumbled, still groggy from being woke up too early. Let’s just say I wasn’t a morning person.
“Minun! Please, wake up!”
“What already?” I asked a bit more awake now. I uncovered myself from the bundle of blankets and sat up. Plusle was staring at me with wide, terrified eyes. “What happened?” I asked, immediately thinking of our black Labrador retriever, Mr. Snuffles. Last time Plusle came into my room like this, he insisted that our dog was missing. After searching high and low for him, I gave up. Plusle, still refusing to give up long after I had crashed on the couch, turned on his bedroom light and searched for Mr. Snuffles there. Still sleeping, curled in a ball underneath the comforter, was Mr. Snuffles.
“Minun, it’s not about Mr. Snuffles! Look I’ll even show you, he’s in my room, sleeping!”
“Then would you just tell me already?’ I asked, fully awake.
“Pikachu’s missing! I can’t find him anywhere! I was coming into his room to tell him breakfast was ready, and he was gone! I searched around the entire house for him, but I couldn’t find him!” Plusle shouted.
I rubbed the morning sand out of my eyes and said, “He’s not missing. He just went somewhere. Watch him come back today at noon.” I said. “Now leave me alone. I’m tired.” That was when we heard the Mail Pokémon flapping his wings to get a good landing on our mail box outside. I got out of bed and decided to see what it was, despite the fact that I wanted to go to sleep. When I came inside, I had one letter in my hand.
“What’s it say? What’s it say?” Plusle asked eagerly. “Maybe it’s from Pikachu! Please, Minun read it!”
“I will if you’ll give me a minute!” I began opening the envelope. Plusle leaned over my elbow, but I pushed him away as I began to read it. “I have your little friend Pikachu. If you’d like to see him again, beat me in a battle. I’ll be waiting in the passage to Lucario’s Castle. I’ll see you there. Gengar. Kekekeke! But you won’t win! P.S. You have two hours to meet me at the castle or your buddy meets a good friend of mine. And that friend is highly possessive. You’d better hurry!” I gulped. “Plusle, you were right...” I was devastated. Not only was I a jerk to him, but I was wrong about the most important of things.
“I told you! Did I not? I told you Pikachu was missing! And you didn’t believe me! And then that letter came! Ha! It even told you Pikachu was missing!”
“Will you stop bragging and just get ready? We don’t have much time!” I shouted. I got ready immediately and Plusle did the same.
“Are you ready?” Plusle asked, barging into my room again.
“Yes, and will you stop doing that?” I asked angrily. I absolutely hated it when someone barged into my room without permission.
