Jani (January) Schofield was born on August 8th,2002,at 1:06 in the morning. She was a beautiful baby girl, wide eyed and adorable. Those eyes-you could just drown in them! They seemed as deep as the ocean, yet sky blue. Wrapped in her mother's arms she was quieter than the other newborns. She was observant her surroundings-still silent as a mouse. Jani was taken home on August 10th, still quiet and normal. The first week felt like heaven to the Schofields-they were happy and content, like Jani. But on her 7th day, things changed. Jani was restless, constantly screaming and never stopping. She would barely sleep-only twenty to thirty minutes at a time, ranging to a total of three or four hours a day. She was only three weeks old. The Schofields went to their padiatrition-desperate for answers. Thier doctor told them she had irregular sleeping patterns. But while Jani was being tested for problems, they found out she had an IQ of 146! With a sigh of relief, Michael Schofield, Jani's father, believed she was so fussy because she needed stimulation. He was right, but little did they know that Jani had a mental illness-with no cure.
