Chapter one: Ice Wonders

I inhale the cold misty air as I spin myself around wondering where I am, having no clue how I got here and when I got here. I sit on the ice cold ground covered in ice like a skating rink. I'm trying to figure out why I'm not shivering but no sense comes into me right now, because I'm in a horrible mood, just trying to figure out what happened to me.

All I remember was that on a nice warm summer day at about 8 o'clock my mom, dad, brother, and I were eating filet mignon at a fancy restaurant in a massive cruise. There were gold chandeliers, gold colored plates with silverware placed on top of the plates wrapped in a crimson cloth, and pianists followed by violinists playing a soothing tune. The walls were a beautiful shade of rosewood red, while men and women were talking, laughing, or kissing. I speculated different colored dresses, raspberry, russet, Burnt sienna, and cosmic latte that were so vivid. How a man went down on one knee to propose, the shocked face on the women, then the instant "yes!". All the waitresses and waiters holding glass plates as they serve the patient couples, while the women laughed full heartedly, which made the men laugh along.

After I stared at those people, I then wiped off my red wine colored strapless dress as a drop of water landed on my lap. I saw my mother as she kissed my father, this was like the millionth time she kissed my father, today was there 38th anniversary. I remember the black sparkling dress she wore and the nice dress shirt my dad wore that was white with a black and gold checkered tie over it with a nice suit that went with it. I remember my 17 year old brother texting as some potato coins fell on his white polo shirt. I remember his brown hair nice and curly, and his nice fluorescent hazel eyes.

Then after I did my observations, I reposed my hair back to the side as I walked to the women's bathroom. There were huge mirrors with golden frames, then the golden sink with silver faucets. Even the stalls were burgundy, I guess the theme colors were red, burgundy, and gold.

What great choice of colors. I stood in front of the empty mirror and stared at my amber eyes as I put eyeliner and mascara on. Then I put on some amaranth lipstick on my pink chap lips, and then as soon as I got my comb out to comb my hair, then time went slowly and there was a huge "boom" the cruise collided into something, as the force pushed my head into the hollow mirror. I fell to the ground groaning in pain as blood trickled down my nose. I then noticed how hard the force was, as I stare at the broken mirror. I tried to run out of the room but then the lights just flickered off.

I heard screaming and crying all over, the noise filled my ears which made me burst into anger. I stood up and ran to the door but I slipped and fell because of the water on the ground. I couldn't see a thing; I started to crawl to the door even though I couldn’t visibly see any object. Whenever I moved the babble of screaming and crying decreased, not knowing whether they're dead or getting rescued out of the boat. Then I heard a door shut and the keys shake. I just realized that it was the door of the bathroom. The water was now up to my knees. I remembered that my phone was in my purse.

I grabbed my phone and turned it on as a guide for light. Then I dialed my mom's number as fast as I could. I was relieved when she answered.

"Honey is that you! Where are you! Are you in the boat or in a canoe like us" she screams calamitously.

"I'm stuck in the bathroom and the door is locked" I shrieked .

"What di-" she begun as she was cut off as my phone dies. There was no longer reception and I forgot to charge my battery. Great a two way problem!

"Ahhhhh, no" I wailed as I started crying heavily. The water was up to my chest, it was so piercing and extrinsic. I swam around trying to find the door, then I felt something hard, it felt like the door so I banged on it hastily “can somebody help me!" I yelled “please help, please" I cried out as my voice echoed. But I didn't hear a response. I no longer heard screams or cries; it was dead silent except for the roaring of the boat as it was sinking. I don't think anyone is even in this bathroom except for me. I began to cry as the water went up to my lips, as the echo of the water filled the room.

I was shivering so much; it was hard for me to breathe. I swam to the sink and climbed on top of it and got my phone but it was drenched in water, I forgot it was dead. The water was now up to my thighs, the water was increasing so quickly now, I just got to the sink! I think we are really deep in the water. In no time it was up to my nose so I tried to jump onto the stall, but my hands slipped off the stall, then some of the water got in my nose as I fell deep into the water. I then swam up and started to choke on it, as some water went down my nose, the taste was so abominable and macabre, with an adequate amount of salt causing my mouth to water.

Now the water was up to my forehead as I kicked my legs in the water to try to stay on top so I won't drown. I wish I continued my swimming lessons to learn how to float. I see my lips connected to the ceiling as I'm taking my last breaths, then the water rushes through my head and I drown, as I drowned, everything was pitch black. I tried to swim up, but I was out of energy, I felt my last heartbeats, and the pain as no oxygen filled my nose. Then there was a voice,

" Sapphire McAllen you are the one of the chosen people from the Ploymodia kingdom, there you will accomplish something no one has ever accomplished, you will be strong and powerful, though you will face troubles. Good luck my dear". Those were the last words I heard.

And now I'm in an unknown world, where everything is just ice. The trees have leaves, but it was winter. That's interesting I thought, but that's not even the point. They're blue with snow covered over the leaves. The ground was piled with snow as the bright blue sun glistened above me, standing right there in the grey sky.

The air is cold and refreshing as the smell of mint tingles my nose. I carry a blue leaf and notice it's a leaf that smells like winter green mint. I turn and look all around me. Side to side, up and down. Just observing this new world as the forceful winds blow my hair. I gasp in awe as I see that my hair is now ice-blonde. It was as white as snow. I dared to look around and I see my pale skin that felt like slippery ice, I could even see my reflection. I have big blues eyes bulging out that glimmered, I also had soft Persian rose, pink lips that were so smooth, I lick the bottom of my lips and notice that it is covered in tiny pieces of ice crystals, the ice crystals tasted like fresh mint, I guess they really like mint in this Pl-medialy kingdom whatever.

I look below me and see my pale bare toes in the soft snow, my nails were blue and my skin was the palest color I've ever seen. While I walk, I notice that I am not wearing any clothes. I see my pale naked, gentle, and sleek skin. I find a piece of sheep skin lying on the ground, but I don't bother to pick it up, for that I'm exhausted. Without control I lay my naked body on the ice-cold snow, and pile snow all over my body pretending that it was a blanket to cover my body. I feel the heaving wind as it blows my perfectly long hair. I then close my eyes and begin to dream about something.

"Sapphire, you will have powers that no one in this kingdom has. You will be able to run about 1,000,000 mph without stopping to take a breath, you will be the fastest one in this kingdom, but some may still catch you if you don't make the right decisions on where to go. You will also be able to read certain minds, the ones that are not easy to read are the people that you should trust and become allies with, but there will be one person you should trust the most even if it's forbidden, because this person will guide and protect you no matter what" a woman said. She had black hair and repulsive blue eyes. Her voice was very fragile, but soft.

A disturbing sound woke me up, I opened my eyes and saw a white stallion and a woman in a dark blue carriage that was in a shape of a heart.

"Hello Sapphire, it's really late and you look like you need a place to stay" the woman says as she looks straight into my eyes. Her voice sounded familiar and her looks also looked familiar. I stand up allowing the snow to fall off of me and I start to walk to her.

"Whoa" the woman said as her eyes broaden. "I think you need some clothes" she laughs. I softly chuckle along with her embarrassingly. I forgot I had no clothes on. I run to the sheep skin that I saw on the floor and wore it around me, but it only covered my chest to my flat stomach.

"Do you have any pants I could borrow" I say as I cover the rest of my body. The woman nodded and exhaled as the frost comes out of her mouth. The frost was quickly building up to a long blue dress with diamonds and pearls. It has long straps that flowed.

"Wow it's beautiful, thank you so much" I say as I notice my voice became calmer.

I ran into the carriage and the woman smiles. She gently whips the horses. I then look at a cloud as the carriage is moving and I see my mom, dad, and many family members crying as their hand cover their faces. I also see a black coffin. My body should be in the ocean, not in a coffin though that’s awfully strange I thought.

"That's your people, eh" the woman says as she stares at the same cloud. I don't answer; instead I begin to cry as blue, cold, salty tears start to race down my cheek. I then noticed her silk dress that was a bit transparent; it was a little disturbing to see, so I turned my head to the opposite direction. I finally realize that she was the woman in my dreams.

"Why were you in my dreams? How do you know my name? How did you make my dress out of frost? How do you know I died? How do you know m-"I begun as she cut me off by placing her cold index finger on my lips.

"You ask so many questions Sapphire. And you should already know the answers to them" she says quietly. Since she wouldn't tell me the answer I tried to read her mind, but all I heard was gibberish

"Stop trying to read my mind" she says as she grins. I sigh and I notice that I'm not really able to get filled up with anger, as hard as I try, I'm still not filled with anger.

"Just tell me the answer" I blurt out as I am frustrated.

“ok, listen attentively, you died yesterday on the cruise, but now you are one of the chosen ones and this kingdom will fall into your hands, my name is Linda Melwaters and I will take you to a camp where you will train for war to prepare for a battle against the Vanglazian king and his people, they are known as the threatening demons, their kingdom is like hell, maybe it's just hell, but who knows? People from their rot and burn and they are all filled with pure evil!" she said bitterly.

"s-s- so I'm like a solider" I say nervously

"Yes, and I believe that you and some other people can join together as a team and defeat the Vanglaza king and his people" she says with a smile. I take huge deep breaths and try to calm my nerves as I shake.

"It’s ok darling" she says, as she locks her eyes outside. As the dark blue leaves fly around in the air.

"You must be hungry, here try this Danish filled with vanilla cream" she says as she exhales a beautiful Danish (pastry) covered in ice. I gently receive it and take a small bite into it. The vanilla cream was so frozen it tastes like creamy ice-cream. The Danish pervaded my mouth with rich, scrumptious cream and berries that were so sweet and crisp.

"This is so good" I say as I lick my fingers

"I'm glad you like it, if you want anymore just let me know, you might be thirsty though" she says as she begins to eat Danish (pastry) as well. Then she exhaled a cup filled with a blue liquid.

"What is this blue liquid" I ask as I look at the mysterious liquid.

"These are beautiful plumarines with a dash of mint" she says as she drinks the liquid with small ice- chunks in it.

"So are all the food you have in this kingdom contain ice" I say as I pluck some ice off my Danish.

"Of course, ice is beautifully amazing" she says as stares at my eyes. I then hold my cup and take a sip of the plumarine juice.

"Wow, this is really good, what is a plumarine" I ask precisely

"It is a mysterious fruit that is the most, sweetest, juiciest, and crunchiest fruit in the kingdom." She said "you can probably find them in wet grassy areas along the river, and then you should see a tall tree, that has plumarines hanging on the branch. If it falls on your head, the juice would splatter all over you" she laughed.

Then the horses stopped instantly. I quickly looked outside and saw a huge building that was made out of ice. There were teal leaves covering the outside of the building, as there was a crystal gate surrounding the castle like building. There were also huge glass windows that were filled with frost, so you could hardly see the inside. There were also beautiful white stallions around the buildings as their long tails blew in the wind. As the guards with silver armors stand by the huge glass door.

"This is the castle where king Darvaro, queen Melirina, and princess Jade live in. Behind this castle is another huge building that has rooms for all the people who will fight in the battle. Behind that building will be your training room, where you will train for six weeks in, before the war. “Linda says with a nice, calming smile.
