The Word of God about the end of the world and the Day of the Lord

1 - About the end of the world

The editor’s note with reference to other prophecies made by the saints, who prophesied from the Holy Spirit for the days of the end of the world and for the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ:

In the presentation of these prophecies (in their vast majority, but only parts of them) I have set aside social, economic, political and ecological aspects of the disasters and of many other aspects, because each one of them, in their turn, if we are to analyze them, would come to be a book, remaining that those who are interested to search out other aspects as well, looking for the complete prophecies.

The prophetic texts are in chronological order, from the holy people pleased to the Lord, by whom He has found it proper to leave testimonies about the last time to the believers.

What does the Lord, Jesus Christ, teach us about the end of the world?

The most complete teaching left in the Holy Book, by our Lord, Jesus Christ, about the end of the world, we find in the book of the Saint Apostle and Evangelist Matthew, chapter 23, in the book of the Saint Apostle and Evangelist Mark, chapter 13, and in the book of the Saint Apostle and Evangelist Luke, chapter 21:

The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 24/3-30:

«3. As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him in private, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of Your coming and of the end of the age?”

Jesus answered them, “Be careful not to be led astray!

…

This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

…

Then, if any one tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There,’ do not believe it!

…

Behold, I have told you this in advance.
If therefore people tell you, ‘Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or ‘Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it!
For as the lightning flashes from the east and is seen even to the west, this is how the coming of the Son of Man will be.

…

No one knows that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but only My Father.
As in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.
Just as in those days which were before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship.
They did not understand until the flood came and took them all away, so will it be at the coming of the Son of Man.

…

Therefore, be ready, for it is at an hour which you do not expect that the Son of Man will come.»

The Gospel of Mark, chapter 13, about the end of the world:

«3. As He sat on the Mount of Olives facing the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him in private,

“Tell us, when will these things take place? What is the sign that these things are all about to be fulfilled?”
Then Jesus began to tell them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.

…

For in those days, there will be oppression such as there has not been since the beginning of God’s creation until now, and never will be.

…

Then, if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ do not believe it.

…

Then, people will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.»

The Gospel of Luke, chapter 21, about the end of the world:

«8. Jesus replied, “Watch out that you do not get led astray, for many will come in My Name, saying: ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not follow them!

When you hear of wars and disturbances, do not be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end will not come right away.”

You will be hated by all for My Name’s sake,
yet not a hair of your head will perish.
By your endurance you will acquire your lives.

…

There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth, the anxiety of nations, perplexed over the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will faint from fear, apprehensive what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Then, they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and much glory.
But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.
And so, be on guard, for fear that your hearts may be weighed down with entertaining distractions, overdrinking, and the worries of this life, and that day will come upon you unexpectedly.
For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Therefore, be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”»

In other writings in the Bible, we also find out about the end of the world the following:

In the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 13:

«43. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. Anyone who has ears should listen!

…

This is how it will be in the end of the age. The angels will come forth and separate the wicked from the righteous …»

To be remembered the following thing:

«At the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established». (2 Cor. 13/1)

«…at the mouth of three witnesses, shall a matter be established». (Deut. 19/15)
