For My Special Soldier.
I Love You....
Charlie was not the same, he had changed.
He didn't joke around any more, he was different.
I felt helpless, my soldier was now in physical and
Emotional pain. He was still handsome and I loved
him more than when we met. Charlie won my heart
from the day we met at his sister Stacy's house, he
Joked around all the time, he showed me he was very
special.
He was very happy to see his son Luca, and eight year
old kid that looked like his dad. The divorce was very
hard for Charlie but when we met I touched his heart
with my stories. He was already in the Army, a Sargent
and a good soldier. We were friends and one day he
surprised me with a marriage proposal then he was sent
to Iraq. We corresponded a lot and our love grew stronger
and deeper.
One day there was a call, Charlie had been wounded in Iraq
he was sent to Germany, he had a wound in one of his legs
he would would be limping for sometime, it was devastating
to him. Christmas was a week away. We were sharing a nice
cottage in the garden of Stacy's house, that had been his house
for along time since his divorce. I loved the old Charlie but I
also loved the wounded one and I would marry him no matter
what, he had been so brave.
His mood changed at times, we had arguments and made up,
one of them was three days before Christmas. Later that day
we went shopping with his sister to an old fashion store whose
owner was an elderly man named Lou, he had known them since
they were kids. Charlie loved that store and taking to Lou who
everyone called grandpa. Once we got to our little house in the
garden he went to take a shower and when I got to the bedroom
I found a plush elf on top of the bed with the most wonderful note
in which he said I was his gift, when he got out of the bathroom he
found me crying with the elf crushed to my heart. He laughed when
I told him that the elf's name was Charlie.
It hurts me to see my soldier hurting but Christmas is giving us a miracle
to be together again.
