"The great empire will be torn from limb,

the all-powerful one for more than four-hundred years:

Great power given to the dark one from slaves come."

-Nostradamus

One

The afternoon sun beat down on my hair. I held a lock in my hand as I inspected the ends. Josh came into view behind my hair.

"-and that's because he thought he had it easy but she just laughed at him and left him back in Detroit." He laughed to himself as he looked back on it. I wasn't listening to him nor was I paying any attention. It's what happens when I get nervous. I twiddle with my hair and pretend I've got a million dead ends or I stare at something so intense, I might aswell burn a hole through whatever was unlucky enough to be in my view. The one guy who's taken interest in me after three years of my giggling over him in my bedroom with Ashleigh, was talking to me while I was seemingly in a better place. Josh wasn't the 'leader' of the 'GB' group. GB was what Ashleigh and myself nicknamed the popular group. It stands for 'Gotta Be'.

Anyways, back to reality. Josh was smiling at me and then the corners of his mouth slowly went down. I looked at him and asked, "Hey, what's wrong?" He looked down towards the ground.
"You just don't seem so..." I could see he was looking for the words and he pushed his back into the park bench. "All I'm trying to say is that you just don't seem into what I'm talking about. Don't take any offence but it's almost like you're not even there." He grimaced. Woah. That sort of hurt but I guess he's probably feeling the jab a little more than me. I dropped my lock of hair and placed my freshly coated pastel pink nailed hands on his lap. He looked up at me with sad brown eyes. "I'm sorry... but Josh, I-" And then my phone started ringing with the Big Ben tune. I tore my eyes away from his and removed my hands so I could reach into my jeans pocket for my phone. Lucky my nails are well done and dried.
I flipped it open to find my dad's name on the screen with his face in the background showing his big toothy grin. I pressed the answer button and pulled it up to my ear. I could hear a giggle and then a, "Hey darlin'!" Oh god. "Hey dad." I replied with a little enthusiasm in the back of my throat. "How did everything go with the good ol' dudely Joshua?" He said it loud enough for even Josh to hear who's smile grew wide reaching both of his eyes and then he leaned forward pulling his hand through his rough golden hair. God he was such a pretty boy. Wait, did dad say something else?! "Wait, what was that dad?" I said abit to fast and Josh was laughing. Oh no... "It's your mother sweetheart... I asked if he, you know, but you can spill the beans to me tonight over a good container of Chinese. OH and, and text him and ask if he'd like to come over tonight for dinner." She said with a little bit of too much excitement. I sighed and covered my eyes with my free hand so I didn't have to see Josh's reaction. "Um, he's sitting right in front of me." Then the phone went silent. What sort of parents did I have? Then after an eerie silence, "Edward, I told you not to call yet!" And then I groaned. My eyes still covered. "Sorry baby, we'll see you tonight and hopefully Joshua too. Love you!" She yelled and I rolled my eyes and finished with a, "love you too." And then I closed the phone shut.

Josh's face full of amusement when I pried my index and middle finger apart. "You heard that?" I asked with a stifled sound of annoyance in the back of my throat. He just smiled and put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me to his chest. He placed his other hand on top of my hand on my face and pulled them away. I must have been so red I'd put a tomato to shame because I felt the beginning of a laugh rumble in the center of his chest and then he started his fitful laugh and I couldn't help but join. An elderly couple walked past in their yellow and red tracksuits and smiled with their lips but the old woman gave us a toothless grin. We just smiled as Josh raised a hand to greet them and they kept powerwalking at a speed that would be walking to us. He just let out a sigh with a hint of a giggle. We sat closer to the edge on my side of the bench and as we looked at eachother I felt fingers on the sides of my ribcage and then before I knew it I was squirming away and I fell of the end of the bench and he followed after. His arms on either side of my head and his nose only mere inches from my own. Just in case you didn't know, I'm actually a lip virgin. Yes, it means that I've never been kissed. And look at me, I'm living my dream of the perfect kiss with the perfect boy. He leaned in and I closed my eyes and puckered up like they do in the movies. I slowly lifted my head and our lips were about to touch until a gigantic tongue came my way and got a good streak from my ear to my cheek and then my nose and then I guessed it flicked up onto Josh's forehead. I opened my eyes and Josh was in another fit of laughter. When I said the perfect kiss... pretend I never said it.

I was pissed. The terrier was sitting there with its tongue hanging out panting. It looked happy that it split us up. Almost too happy and I hope it was goddamn satisfied. Perfect timing mutt. Josh was already over giving the dog a scratch behind the ears. I went to push myself off the ground but Josh was leaning over me with his hand out. I took it and he pulled me up. We looked at eachother for a while and then a voice broke our trance. "POLLY! COME HERE GIRL!" The owner of the voice emerged from behind one of the scrubs beside the cement walkway the old couple took. He wore a Scottish farmers uniform with the tan tan on his head and you could see a tinge of red in his grey hair and bushy brows. He was slouched but walked with no problem. His eyebrows flew up and he walked faster. "POLLY MY GIRL! RUNNING OFF ON POOR TOM! ALMOST SENT ME TO A BLOODY EARLY GRAVE MY GIRL." He bent down and reached for the white and brown dog. His arms cradling the mutt. "Did y'find my dear girl?" He asked us with his brows still up. Josh looked around and then replied, "I think she found us." He laughed and the old man laughed with him. "Well me and my Polly better get'a going. Betsy won't be impressed that we're home late f'er good vegetable pie. G'evening to you both." And with that, Tom tilted his tam and off he went with Polly in hand.

I looked up at Josh and his arm was down behind my back and my long hands were in his big hand. His hands were pretty soft for a football players. I looked from our hands up to his woodland eyes. I had to say it now or never, "Josh, I've got to tell you something important and you might not like it." His eyebrows lowered a little and I turned to see the sun only barely peering over the trees tops. The sun and the bench were my audience. Here it goes. "I'm going to a boarding school." I thought the weight would have lifted but it was still heavy and waiting for Josh's approval. I kept my attention on his blue V neck t-shirt. It hugged his toned shoulders, chest and stomach. Talking about stomachs, I needed to bring up mine. I swallowed against it as bile rose in my throat. I looked at my feet to calm myself and all I saw were his black jeans and black flip flops. Everything was too quiet.

"You promise you'll text me and send me emails back?" His voice hopeful and I looked into his eyes which were giving off the same feel. I smiled and the weight lifted and so did the bile. Before I knew it, I had my arms wrapped around his neck and he vice versa. "Will you?" He asked again. "Der!" I answered as I rolled my eyes. The sun was now just below the trees line and out of view. I guess he was only sticking around to find out the result. I flicked my hair back off my shoulder. The air slowly getting colder and biting at my bare collar. Thanks to Ashleigh and her fashion choice for me before Josh picked me up from her house. Which I have to text her later to fill in the details. She's been in denial and pretty pissed off about me going to boarding school.

Awell, I'll text her later. Josh grabbed my left hand in his right and we started walking down the path. "I better get you back. It got dark pretty quick." He said looking up and the navy blue sky, "So, you aren't going to have dinner with us?" I asked. He still looked up. "I've got some things to take care of." I looked down at the ground in disappointment as we walked. I felt his eyes on me and he squeezed my hand. I looked up at him again and all he said was, "Sorry babe." And then he looked forward again. I felt a warm sensation in my chest. He called me 'babe'. Oh dear god. Babe means one thing... HIS. I smiled to myself but continued to walk as we came to the curb where his car was parked and he pulled out his keys and unlocked the car with the button. He guided me over to the passenger side and opened the door for me. I slowly detached my hand from his and I slid inside as he closed the door after me with a slow thump.

My jeans pocket material lit up into a brighter dark blue. The vibration tickling my leg. I pulled it out as Josh jumped in the drivers seat. The message was from Ashleigh. I opened the message.

Okay, so I wanted to just ask...
ARE YOU AND JOSH GOING OUT!?
EVERYONE is talking about it on Facebook.
Spill everything later.
P.S Josh went from 'in a relationship with Rachel Smith' to 'single' and now it's 'in a relationship'
GET ON IT NOW!
ttfn xoxo

Woah. I looked up out the sleek window screen. His red jeep slowly pulling out of the curb and onto the street. I didn't even hear him turn on the ignition. I went to look at him and he was looking at my phone in my lap which I slammed shut and slipped it in under my thigh. Then his gaze went back to the road. I pulled my hair from my face. Did Josh already think we're in a relationship? I couldn't wait to check it out when I get home.

Josh pulled up in front of my house and got out without much fuss. I beat him to the door handle and I went to open it but he just shut it on me. All I could think was, what the fuck? And then he opened it again with a laugh which was aimed at me. I simply huffed and got out. Well, atleast he's a gentlemen. I slowly made my way up the driveway to the stairs on the side of my patio since dad decided to take out the path and put a bird bath there. I got up to the second step then the front light came on and dad came out the front door bellowing with a hand out for Josh to shake. Then it hit me. I left my phone in the car. I facepalmed myself. Stupid! I went to turn then Josh placed his hand on my shoulder. "Charlie?" he said with a frown as my dad neared with a big smile and mum following. "Just forgot my phone in the car." I smiled and he lowered his hand and smiled at me. His hand then meeting my dad's and then all I could hear was my dad say something and they all laughed. I reached the jeep and pulled the handle and placed my knee on the seat to get a better view. I heard a vibration. Ah, my phone! But all I got hold of was Josh's iPhone2. I didn't mean to be a sticky beak but I had to see just for abit of knowledge.

Oh wow. Okay. I just needed to breathe. Wait, how do I breathe? Oh crap it's a necessity that even babies know! I slid into the seat. I looked up at the front patio and my dad's still having a conversation with Josh about football. I press the lock and unlock button on top of the phone to see if he's got a password and I was shocked to see he didn't have one. I slid my finger across the message and guess who it's from? Rachel Smith. The message came up. I turned my back to the house so they light wouldn't shine and attract attention to the jeep.

Are you finally done with that loser?
When you're finished there, come to mine.
She's got a whole lot coming.
Also, photo's wont be needed, I got better plans.
And can you please bring my bra with you, I left it in your gym bag after this afternoon.
Love MY boy

Okay. Maybe she'd known I'd read the message. But my curiosity got the better of me and I turned to the back seat and his gym bag was there. I opened it and WALLAH, her 'D' cup bra confirmed the statement of the text. And it seems little miss D cup had 3 layers of padding for a bigger lift and a look of 3 sizes bigger. So technically, Little Miss SmithChips is a B cup. But it's not like guys care. Boobs are boobs to them. I turned around to check if they were on the patio and dad had them all captivated in one of his stories on the steps where they all sat. I turned around and scrolled up through the messages from today between them both.

I'm going to her place and then urs okay?
Oh and wear the red one, brings out ur boobs
Be there hopefully after 9, depends on how long this will take.
Photo's needed?
Love u

Okay. I'm at the point of blowing off my own head from how cliche they are and secondly from him playing with me and snapping his phone but I just put it back on the console. I breathe slowly and realize I wasn't breathing for a fair while. I just take a deep breath and look down where my black phone was on the ground. It must have slid off the seat when I pulled myself out. I flipped it open and sent a quick text to Ashleigh.

Need to talk ASAP, will call after GB patrol leaves.

Very angry. About to go Carrie.

I closed it and stuffed it in my bra. I closed the car door and pulled my hair over my shoulder and fixed my gloss up. I slowly walked up the driveway and when I got to the steps, everyone was just laughing and then mum got up first. "Well, it's getting abit late. It's 8:30." Mum announced as she reached her hand out to shake Josh's hand. "Very lovely to meet you but I think you're parents will want you home don't you think?" She smiled and climbed the stairs and said her goodnight as she disappeared inside. Dad got up and put his hand out to help Josh up off the step and then he shook it. "Good to meet you buddy." And then dad was off up the steps and through the door and then I heard a shrieking mum run through the kitchen and then up stairs I presume.

I looked at Josh and he stepped closer. I was hoping that Ashleigh would just hurry up and text or even better call. Her timing is usually good. I stepped sideways up the step and found myself just a little short of his 6'1 height. I was only 5'9. I went to take another step up to get closer to the front door and then he put his hand on the side of my neck as he leaned in. I took the best of this opportunity as I thought of the text messages and then my phone went off and I headbutted him as if I was really clumsy and automatically went for my phone. The Big Ben tune was playing. THERE IS A GOD! Ashleigh's name came up on the screen with the caller ID background as catwoman from last Halloween.

"I'm sorry! I've gotta take it, my friend is really sick and I forgot to call her. Don't you just hate pneumonia." Said with the best sad face I could muster up. He looked at me and for a second I thought he saw straight through it and he just rubbed my shoulder and kissed my cheek. "Tell her I said get well. Better answer that. Goodnight Charlie." He then slipped down the side of the path from the stairs and down the driveway to his jeep. I answered the phone.

"Are you absolutely crazy! I've been calling and calling!"
"I'm sorry Ash but I have some news. Josh just left."
The phone went quiet. Then, a sigh suppressed on the other side of the phone.
"Okay. So the biggest news you couldn't even answer me for was because.."
And then Ash pulled out her russian accent.
"Just because Mr Joshua Kemington left the building?"
I just chuckled and ran my finger a few times on the edge of my nose to cure the itch.
"No, it's actually because someone attempted to have sex with my face twice! And he's still with Rachel."
I was expecting Ashleigh to laugh or say her famous, 'I TOLD YOU SO!'
But there was nothing.
"Ashleigh? You still there, Ash?" I pressed abit more.
Just silent.
I sighed and took a breath in and forced it out.
"Charlie?"'
"Yeah?"
"Did you just write a status?"
I thought about it but I haven't been on Facebook all day.
"No, why?"
I could hear an 'uh-oh' and an 'oh shit' from her sister who must have been in the room with Ashleigh.
"Tell me!" I basically yelled into the phone.
"Well, you're status says something along the lines of... I'm a virgin and it's funny because I steal other peoples bfs. Sometimes I just love following them home and watching them just-"
Then Ashleigh trailed off.
Everything at that moment crashed down. I was done for.
Finally, I swallowed the bile. "I was hacked."
Ashleigh breathed into the phone, "And I know who by."

I sat in my room with only my laptop on. I looked at the screen and saw the 159 likes on the status that Rachel wrote. Josh's relationship request still sitting in the corner like the Eiffel tower begging for attention. What an asshole.

I merely clicked on the likes and scrolled down until I saw her face and clicked on it. I started typing on the 'post a wallpost' and I was on a roll. My finger hovered over the post button until it was yanked from under my hand. My jaw dropped and I looked up from my spin seat. My brother stood looming over me with the mouse cord in one hand and the other leaning on my wall. He stood about 6' and was really lean but was toned. His hair is thin like mine thanks to our mum. He had stubble growing and was wearing a baggy white shirt and bugs bunny boxers. I looked back at the screen.

"What do you want Braedon?" I asked with as much annoyance I could use.
"Don't do that." He said and I could still feel his eyes burning into the top of my head.
I sprung from my chair and waved my arms around.
"Why the HELL not!? You saw what she wrote on my status! She HACKED it, Braedon! She HACKED it! And 159-" The screen popped up with a notification and it just notified me that ANOTHER person liked it. "Woops, make that 160 people LIKED it!" My eyes burned but I never cry in front of people so I just stopped and breathed. The burning faded slowly and I could finally breathe right.

"Leave it to me, okay?" He said and then a smiled grew on his face.
"Don't worry about it. Johns at his mates place and Rove is at his girlfriends place. Leave it to us. We are your big brothers remember." And with that he walked over and gave me a kiss on the hair line.
"Night sister cub." He said as he walked out into the dark hallway.
I was alone again as the door clicked closed.
I went over to the computer and decided on the post button but I moved the mouse up to the corner and clicked on settings and before I knew what I was doing, I placed the mouse over the 'deactivate' button and pressed.
It then came up with, 'Are you sure you want to deactivate your account?'
And I click yes.
No use staying up late now.

Two

I woke up and packed my bags while I brushed my teeth with the other. Mum running around in the kitchen getting breakfast ready. I went into my bathroom and spat out the foam in my mouth. Turning the cold water on and rinsing the sink out and watching the pastes foam travel down the sink. I reach for my face wash and squeezed out the size of a 20 cent piece and rubbed it into my hand. I quickly slipped it under the tap to help lather it more and then i looked up and my face in the mirror. My hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. My eyebrows shaped into a low hill with the tip giving character to my facial features. My eyes just a tinge up at the corners but full and round with complimenting dark lashes. I tilt my face for a better look and my nose isn't flat but it between a button and pointed nose. A cut beside my eye that curves down beside my cheek bone and stops in the middle of my cheekbone. It doesn't do much for me. My face was between something cute and pretty. Other days, I just felt like crap. My eyes traveled down to my full rosy lips that finished off my oval face.
I brought my hands up to my face and squeezed my eyes shut. I massaged the cream all over my face and I could feel the burn of it's revitalizing ingredients storm it's way through my skin. I then quickly shoved my hands under the running water and splashed the water over my face but it always resulted in water flying everywhere unlike those ads for face washes where they do it so gracefully.

A few handfuls later, I turn off the tap after trying to find it with my eyes screwed tight and I reached for my face towel. I gripped it and patted my face with it. After feeling my face more full and replenished, I looked at my reflection. My tanned face a few shades darker than the pink skin colour. I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and dropped it into my suitcase. My laptop was packed in one of the bags and I grabbed my sprays and posters I bought the week before and other knickknacks.

I looked at the full length mirror and realized I was still in my boxers and t-shirt! I turned around to my drawers and pulled out a fresh pair of blue Victoria Secret underwear and the matching bra which I can now proudly say my boobs are BIGGER than Rachel Smith. I felt a cheer break out in my head. It took a year of mowing my grandmothers lawn for a year to make up for the money I borrowed off my parents. They were the very in thing and I just thought maybe I'd feel nice wearing them. I walked over to my bedroom door and closed it. I slipped off my boxers and knickers. Then my shirt and bra followed. I reached over for my towel and chucked my clothes in the clothes basket at the end of my bed. I walked towards my bathroom and clothes the door after me. I took off the towel and placed it over the rack and put the new bra and underwear I bought last week. I turned on the fan and opened the window. I slid to the bathmat and turned on the shower nob. I turned the hot and then the cold. I then put my hand in to feel it first and then I was in. I used a new beaded boy wash with a vanilla and coco bean fragrance. I then washed my hair with Sunsilk shampoo and conditioner. I turned off the water and squeezed my hair from root to tip and flipped my head back and forth to get some more out. I stood up straight and wiped the mirror and saw my reflection. I bloomed with confidence. I patted myself dry and stood on the dry mat in front of the toilet and slipped on my blue matching underwear. I finished clipping the back of my bra up and I just smiled to myself. I stood on my toes and stretched and felt my knees, ankle, toes, back, hips, shoulders and neck crack. I felt unbelievably good.

By the time I got out, I walked into the bedroom to find a gift wrapped up on the bed. I quickly chucked on a white polo and faded blue jeans and my sneakers. With my towel still wrapped around my head, I walked over to the gift and sat on my bed. I picked up the wrapped flat object. I card sat with it. I tore through the wrapping and their was a pink diary made of leather. I flipped through it and it even had sleeves you could place pictures in or just about anything. I smiled to myself and sat it beside me. I reached over to the card and read it.

Charlie,

Vale. As our great-grandfather would say everytime he left.
Goodluck sistercub.

Much love,

Braedon.

I got off the bed and I didn't notice before that my suitcase and bags were gone. Dad took them already. I turned and grabbed my phone off the side of my bed. I stepped forward and quickly grabbed my diary and card.

I made it downstairs as mum pushed a plate of toast my way with a small bowl of muesli and yogurt my way. I quickly looked up and she was there with my juice. I smiled with half a mouthful of toast and nodded to try and smile as I reached for the juice. "Thanks mum." As I received it, she leaned over the bench and kissed my forehead. She continued to pull apart and chew on her toast and sip her herbal tea. Her hair dropped into curls that came down just past her shoulders. She smiled at my dad who winked at her while he bit on his waffles. He looked at me and stuck out his tongue. Wait, why doe-

"Mum! Why does dad get chocolate waffles?!" I whined and dad just chuckled. Mum playful flicked his nose and he repeatedly said, "Ouch!" Mum knows everything about how to hurt him. Mum's got high cheekbones and plump pink lips. Her nose is pointed and her eyes a light green with lines merging from the outer ring of her pupil. I had it too and so did my brothers and my dad. Mum was lean but curvy and dad was just a unit. He was tall and slightly bulk. Everyone always asked why my mum and dad were so young and I never thought about it but they still looked in their late 20's. Actually, they look around 28 or 27. I never thought about it except that they age well. Dad wasn't too bulk but just toned and had a very fit build. Mum never really tells any of us how she met dad. Dad won't say either except the fact that they hated eachother.

I got off my seat as mum grabbed her stuff and dad was already in the car while Braedon was gone for another few months overseas to stay with his girlfriend. The trip was long and I fell asleep after Boston. I know that I was asleep for a few hours so I'd say it was at least a twelve hour trip. I woke up with my earphones in and I pulled them out when mum turned around from the drivers seat.
"We're here baby. Look how big this place is!" She exclaimed. We drove down the driveway and entered another large gate. The grounds were gorgeous and I'm sure the landscape and plants such as the flowers would look beautiful if it was for all the rain. The flowers on the side of the driveway were radiating colours. It was beautiful but you could see the whole place was old. Well to me it looked like it was historical which it probably is.

My dad woke up and stretched in the passenger seat and mum dodged a flying and straining hand.
"Sorry love." He said as he put the window down.
Mum looked around and kept driving. There were kids... wait... everyone was my age. Some we're just a year or two older. Some even looked 19. They all walked in the rain to different buildings. We finally neared a undercover parking area. But it wasn't under ground, just an area where cement was cradling cars gathered and a door I presumed that entered the building. We got out and dad grabbed all my bags and suitcases. I just carried my ipod, carry bag and my pillow. Someone held the door open as we hurried on in.

The woman looked down at me. She was one abnormally tall woman. She looked at me over her small bumped nose and low heavy cheekbones. Her mouth in a stern line and her eyebrows high under her cap. Her eyes were a lifeless blue. She then smiled as she peered to my parents. They smiled back and all shook hands.
"Hello, I'm Belle Foster. I'll be your daughters Sports adviser and PDHPE teacher." She sneered at me and stuck out her hand for me to shake. I did as silently ordered and she kept her hand fierce. What The Hell is going on?

Three

Mrs Foster escorted me and my parents up to my room where they helped me unpack into the dark and dark large room. I even had a double four post bed. Can anything get any weirder? Ashleigh and I had already searched up what boarding schools were like and we even did a whole research project on it. Woah. After we unpacked I put my air freshener sticks beside my laptop. I turned and mum gave me a box with a bow on top and a card slip under the ribbon. They can't be leaving already?

"Here you go darlin'. You take care of yourself now." He walked over to me and took my cheeks in between his index and thumb. And squeezed.
Mum stepped beside me and rubbed my shoulder as she passed me the box.
She said softly, "I know you'll do well. Do us proud sweetheart."
My voice spoke without my permission. "You can't go yet!" I wailed.
Dad's eyes softened as he looked at mum. Mum's eyes gathered tears.
"We gotta get goin' little bee." He said softly.
Mum hugged me tightly and kissed my cheek. Then dad took me in a bear hug and swung me side to side. Then he put me down and put out his knuckle.
"Go get em'." And with that he bumped knuckles with me, kissed my hairline and walked to the door.
Both saying, "We love you." and then the door closing after them.
The sound of the click meant once again I was alone.

Four

I spent the rest of the raining afternoon cooped up in my room with my knees up under my chin while I stared at the computer screen, watching the mouse light up the login button. I had a debate on whether to click or not. I already had my details in ready to go.

email: c.hansen96@live.com

All I could think is, 'why the hell not?' and my finger followed the words with a push. It was loading and I was already curling my hair around my left index finger. My heart beat faster and faster. The loading bar was nearly complete and then there was a knock at my door. I turned around in my computer chair, spinning a smooth 180. I now faced my door and the knocking continued.
"Come in." I replied to the knocking but it just continued.
So I unhitched my legs from off the seat and heaved myself up.
"Come in!" I yelled with agitation. More knocking. Doesn't this person hear? I took up four strides and then reached for the door. I had my hand on the handle and before I could turn it, the door flew open and hit me in the nose. A white heat came over me and my hands flew to my nose. Holy shit, my nose was pounding and my eyes burned. Did my nose just break? A girl stood there with the hallway light flooding into my dark room.

Was this girl for real? She stood taller than me with what seemed to be a stack of books. Wait, were they papers?
Over my shadowed hands I saw a gleam of a smile as I turned away to crouch. Cradling my face with my hands. A southern voice came from the lighted hall.
"Wow, it's dark in here! Let's shine a light on the situation." And then the lights came on and stung my eyes. I didn't even realize how dark it was in here.
I stood from my crouching position on the floor and rubbed the side of my nose. I turned to the girl beside the open door.
"Howdy!" She said with a joyful tune and a big white smile that reached her eyes. Her hair was a blue colour just more closer to a silver. She had a beauty spot just below her left eye and a few dark spots here and there across her nose and cheeks. I'm presuming they're freckles. She had a small eyebrow piercing with one end below her eyebrow and the other end above. Her hair was cut to just above her shoulders. Her lips were thick and plump with a clear gloss over the top. She looked like a cosmopolitan covergirl. She wore a loose red ROMWE sweater that came down to mid-thigh. Underneath was a pair of three quarter jeans that come just below the knee with a pair of country style high heel boots with a strip of skin showing between the end of the jeans and the top of the boots. She was paler than me but she had rosey cheeks and dark blue eyelids masked with long thick eyelashes. But her eyes were... I couldn't really tell...

"Oh crap! I didn't mean to do that! I'm pretty bad with my hands-" She basically yelled it through the thick layer of gloss. She quickly did a mini run to the drawers under the shelves on the wall and put the armful of papers on the surface of the drawers. Then she quickly made her way over to me. She went to reach for my hand so she can move it but I tried to pull away from her by lightly tilting my head to the side. But that didn't stop her freshly manicured nailed hand to come at my face. "Here, just let me have a look will ya?" She said as she slapped my hand away from my face. She placed her hands on either side of my head and inspected the damage. And then she chuckled. Was it really bad?!

"Oh girlll." As she said it, the 'l' at the end of girl, rolled on for a few seconds as she shook her head and leaned back with her hands on her hips. My hands flung to my face like magnets to check the damage myself. I ran my fingers over the skin of my nose but nothing hurt. "You didn't even end up with a mark. Fast healer you are." She said with a smile. Her silver blue hair shimmering in the dull light in my room. I kept touching my nose. It can't be right. "Even look in the mirror if you don't believe me." I looked at her as she cocked one of her eyebrows up. I scurried towards the large mirror on the wall beside the door. I tilted my head back to get the best view with light because of my shadow. I couldn't believe it. "Impossible." I breathed out.

I turned and the girl was still standing there with her hands on her hips. Her face dropped as if something dawned on her. Her hands dropped from her hips and her eyes grew wide. "How unfriendly of me! I should have introduced myself! I'm Williow but you can call me Deedey. Abit like two D's. It's my last name. I don't like it when people call me Will." And she then had her hand out towards me. I hesitated for a moment but then my hand reached for hers. "Charlie. Hansen. Charlie Hansen." I said shaking her hand and then releasing slowly as I asked, "Why don't you like being called Will? Isn't it easier?" Her face scrunched up. "You'll learn why." And then she yelped a quick 'OH!' and ran to the papers. She ruffled through them and did a quick pull up of her ROMWE jumper sleeves. I stood there rubbing my wrists in an unsure manner. I just looked around my room like it was someone elses. Just one of those things you do when you're unsure of what to do, you know?

"Here we go!" She exclaimed. She turned and gave me some books, sheets and a folder with folders inside of it. Atleast another 3. I didn't even notice she had THAT much. Then she ran over to my desk with careful steps in her red boots. Before I knew it, she had organized the sheets into the folders, sorted my books and placed them all in the an organized and correct order on the book shelves above my computer desk. Then she turned around with a big grin showing some gloss that was stuck on her tooth. "Are you hungry because it's dinner time and they've made theeeee best pluto pups in the world. Alot more delicious and healthier than the big old greasy ones back at home." And she looked at me from head to toe. She had one arm crossed and one arm up with her fingers tapping her chin. "Hmmmm, got heels?" And I automatically nodded. Weird.

I trailed behind Dee as she did her catwalk strut down the stairs and outside into the damp environment outside. It stopped raining and the sky was just a darker shade of blue and light pinks and purples. The sun slightly a quarter behind the forested mountains. After about 5 minutes, we turned to a big entrance and she stopped me. How big is this place? I just blinked and shivered from the cold air going through my white polo shirt. "What's up?" I asked, eager to just get atleast in the building. She shook her head. "Let your hair out." She said with a smile and her Southern Country accent taking its throne again. "Okay." I shook my hair out of the loose ponytail and my straight hair fell around my shoulders. "Awesome!" She chirped. She dragged me around the small corner and through the big white doors which could possibly fit a troll or something inside. I looked up and the ceiling had carvings and artworks printed all over the top. I gasped and Dee laughed. "Cool huh? They say that when this place was first built ages ago, it belonged to a really rich family but rumor has it that they weren't of this world. The guys name was Raplh Noctorium and he had SEVEN

sons and one daughter. But she was caught in some fight between families or something and she ended up killing herself." She sighed. I looked back at her since now we were eye level with the same height heels. "Sort of like Romeo and Juliette?" I suggested and she gave a small and slow shake of her head. "Yeah. Tragic really." And I looked at the ground. "Anyways, lets go eat, I'm starved!" And with that, she linked arms with me and we made our way through two double doors.

We walked into the large dining room and Dee unlinked arms with me and skipped towards a table to the center of the right side of the hall. I looked around at atleast 1000 other students sitting at the tables. Some turned and looked at me while others were deep in conversation. I looked over at the table that Dee ran to. She turned and waved her hand for me to hurry. I headed over with my well practiced and balanced walk to the table. I smiled and waved my hand slightly at everyone. On Dee's left, a boy with long shaggy curls sat slouched over his meal while demonstrating what seemed to be a potato and hot dog in a sword fight. The girl beside him laughed and looked up at me with a wide smile. Her blond hair hanging over her shoulders and dropping down in tight curls to the middle of her torso and back. "Hey, I'm Lauren!" She stood up and offered her hand and I took it and shook. "I'm Charlie." I smiled and lifted my eyebrows to give my tired face a more bright look. She sat down and said something to Dee over the top of the table. Dee turned to me and pulled out a chair for me to sit in and I accepted it gratefully. "Thank you." And she turned back to Lauren. I sat with my hands in my lap. Then I saw a hand in my provisional vision. I looked up and turned to my right. A boy held out his hand. "Hey darlin'. The name's Norris, that guy playing with his food is Thomas and these three over here are Julie, Moe and Corey." And I looked over at the three beside Norris and one was leaning back with a smirk on his face while he had a slim darkly tanned woman on his lap. They seemed to be caught in a whispering situation and sharing a few pecks on the lips. The guy had black hair that was cleanly shaven and when he turned his head, he had a bump in his nose which could be from fights. He was wearing a white top and from what I could see was black pants. The girl had her hair in a braid to just below the shoulders that met the top of her green dress that ended about mid thigh. My mother would kill me if I wore something like that. Her eyes tilted up at the ends and she was obviously from an Asian heritage. Then the one that sat next to Norris had his hand out for me to shake. I reached over Norris' plates and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Charlie, I'm Corey." He said with a nice straight white smile. He had high cheek bones and he had very thick eyebrows. He looked just like Norris but he had dark green eyes and Norris had brown. Norris had more muscle and was taller with brown dreadlocks while Corey was toned and shorter with short rough straight hair. He was about 5'10 and Norris was roughly 6'2. They looked Hawaiian.

I sat and looked around while everyone just chattered until Dee announced we were going to grab food. We left the table and weaved past the seats and tables. We got to the front where the food selection was where trays and tubs of food were. Then a bench at the end with a wide range of drinks from water, juice, dairy to tea, coffee and hot chocolate sat. I wonder how much my parents are paying for this? So, I decided I'd make the most of my money and grab a plate with some spaghetti bolognese, garlic bread and a mug of hot chocolate. After Dee finished grabbing her pluto pups, we headed back through the loud tables and seats. Then a chair hit my leg and my hot chocolate spilt down a white collared shirt. Oh my god. What have I done? I quickly put down my plate and cup which Dee picked up with her free hand as I reached over the table to grab some serviettes. I turned around and he stood in front of me in eye level which without my heels would make him taller than me. I bunched up the serviettes in my hand and started dabbing at his stained shirt. "I am so sorry! I should have watched where I was going." And he shoved my arm away with forced that made me step back. The whole hall went silent. And I even hurt chairs turn to face our direction but that didn't bother him. He stared at me with his gold and green eyes with his brows turned down into a prettty pissed off face.

"You moron! Watch where you're going. Fucking idiot." And with that he turned to his table and grabbed something. He turned and I felt something burn. My stomach. I looked down and the stench hit me hard enough to know what it was. Hot coffee all over the front of my white polo. I looked up in shock with my mouth open. He had a smirk on his face as he looked at me with satisfaction. "Good luck getting that out of your shirt, sweetheart." And then he turned as his table followed him out. I looked at Dee who had her eyes out of their sockets and her jaw was about as low as mine right now. I then squeezed my jaw together. I forgot the burn on my stomach, I was now focused on the fact that I just made an enemy and I haven't even made 5 hours here yet. Go Charlie.

I woke up and crawled out of bed to only walk over to my white polo and find the coffee stained front... still there. I sighed and walked over to my my drawers and wardrobe. I went through the drawers to find the socks my mum purchased a few weeks back for me and found them in the draw with my shirts. I then grabbed out a fresh pair of knickers and another bra since my other one hanging on the clothes rack with my shirt and underwear. My jeans hung on the back of my computer chair. Last night, Dee and Lauren showed me where the laundry was in the building behind the dorms. There's apparently a lake here about a mile into the woods.

I looked around and reached for the wardrobe door and slid it open. I looked around and found a black shirt and a skirt that came down to just below the mid-thigh. I quickly walked to my computer desk to find the Gilroy booklet. I flicked through the pages and found the uniforms page. Scanning down to what we had to wear.

Girls:
Skirts and dresses are provided.

Oh. The mini skirt for school? And girls have to wear some form of skirt? Oh. I went to skim through but the next line answered my prayers.

But, dark pants are also acceptable.

YES! I dropped the dress and skirt on the ground and just dragged them with my foot into the wardrobe. I went to the drawers and pulled out my dark denim jeans. I sat all my clothes on the bed and slid off my knickers which I suddenly feel more comfortable wearing to bed lately. I then slid on my next pair and checked them out in the mirror across from me beside the door. They fitted nicely on the sides of my hips and gave my lean body a good look. I then turned and slipped off my tank top and put the bra on over my shoulders and then reaching behind to clip it up. I wondered what time I start classes. THE TIME! I quickly reached for my phone beside my bed which said 7:51am. I wasn't sure if classes started at 8 or 9 but I better get a move on!

I rushed out of my room with my carry bag over my shoulder and I undid my hair out of its french braid with my free hand as I rushed down the steps and did a quick turn to get to the door faster. I clicked the button on the side of my phone and it said 8:06am. I saw nobody outside so... I'm late.

I finally found the room I'm supposed to be in and I wiped my hands on my jeans as I knocked twice. This building is a fair way from the rest. It's past the laundry building. It took abit and a half to find this place. I snapped back as footsteps neared the other side of the door. Then the door opened and my heart was racing like pharlap. Then it opened and an attractive male stood before me. "Hell-" And before he could finish, his face lit up into a smile. "Ah, goodmorning Charlie! We were wondering where you went to. I'm Mr Crou. But you can call me Evan. Please, come in." He said with a charming smile. I've never spoken to a teacher by his first name. But his hair was neatly done and side burns that came to the middle of his ears. He was cleanly shaven and tanned. He looked amazing. But if he's our teacher... he can't be. He looked like he was in his 20's. My old school had old people. Why isn't he old? I stepped in as he opened the door wider and guess who was in this class with me? That's right, douche bag from the dining hall. He sat their in his chair with a smug look on his face and then he looked at me. I wore one of the fabricated collared shirts. I went and found a seat on the side. He got up from his chair and moved. I dropped my bag down beside my desk and I heard a 'domp' sound to look up and find him sitting in front of me with a look on his face which only resulted in torture.

"I see you replaced it for a shirt just like mine. Already a fangirl, hey?" He said with a cocky expression while his mates watched and smiled from the other side of the room. I looked down at the desk and then thought. "Asshole." I said just so I could hear. But I was wrong. He taunted a, "What was that?" and a "Do you wanna repeat that?". "Mr Stewart." Evan had his arms folded over his chest. I looked up at him and smiled. "I said your hair looks great." And with that, I got a huff from him and he was finally leaving. I sighed in relief until then I coped a table to the gut as he pushed it with his leg and a fierce kick to the shin. I winced but held a stifle in. I bit my lip.

Anyways, what was this class? I looked in my diary at my schedule. It was just this class. And then fitness class but still. This is supposed to be some 'club' that my parents said would help me. How will it help me? Other than having a total jackass in the class who'll taunt me until the day I die. I glanced up and scanned the room and found the dick face staring at me and then down at his sheet that Mr Cr- I meant Evan, must have handed out. What is his problem? His little group were sitting in front of him and behind him. There were four rows of six. He was only 5 seats away thank god. I continued to have a look around at everyone and right then, I found myself taking a second glance at a guy that stood with another 5 guys at the front with a girl sitting with her leg high over the other on a bench. His eyes sat on me for a few moments and then kept scanning the room. Those few moments made my heart burn alittle.

I took one more quick glance at him and gathered how his arms crossed and muscle had shown itself through the black button up material. How his leg slightly crossed over the other and his black jeans sat just perfectly on his waist while his belt sat to keep it in place. The way his shoes showed he was a man of definition and power with their leather point. His lightly tanned skin looking warm and smooth. His white blond hair ruffled from sleep and tousled from the way he just ran his hand through his hair. My eyes traveled down from his hair to his slightly short sideburns kept tidy, and then to his beautifully sculpted cheekbones that went too high and weren't too low. His nose shaped nicely to a medium thickness where it complimented his lips and his eyes that had a nice thick set of eyelashes. I then felt heat roll through my face and body when I realized I was staring at him. My head faced straight down at the table and he looked abit nerved by my suddenness. I really am a dickhead!

Finally being able to wrap my head around what Evan had given us, I read the questions. Frowning as I'm skimming them, I was confused.

Lemo?
Fraer?

Best fighting technique?

Have you ever taken a form down? Tick which ones or circle other.

There were pictures with some freaky looking bastards in the boxes. One had teeth longer than my fingers if I put it to scale and they stuck out of its face and down past it's chin. I looked like it was skin and such. It was gross and then their were some other ones that were really disturbing. I thought the one that looked like clouds of smoke was strange but I skipped it. Then the bell went and everyone rose and left their seats as they all raced out. I sat there staring at the paper. The room silent after everyone shuffled out. I then heard talking.

"-it'll start this afternoon." said one voice which sounded like Evan's. Then a reply, "So, what are we supposed to do with her?" The voice sounded like the girl who sat on the bench.
"Just help her. She has no idea what's going on. The least you can do is help her for God's sakes!" It went silent.
Then a, "Don't you dare say that name. It is unworthy of your tongue." She said sharply.
"How can you say that when he has so clearly kicked you out." And with that I could hear footsteps heading out of the building. And then a stamp from a stiletto and a girly 'Uhargh!'
"Stop acting like a child. If you will not help her, we will." And then the stiletto made its departure known as it stormed off.
"Well, it's settled then. She's basically a hooker anyway." One of the other voices said as I heard laughter and some pat on the backs. I rolled my eyes.
Then the foot steps became louder. I realized they were coming my way.

I squeezed my pen and looked around for a quick getaway but there was nothing that would be quick by the time they got here. I quickly fixed up my posture then looked down at the paper as they walked in talking. Then silence slowly came over the room. It happened so fast that my paper slid from under my gaze and hand. I looked up and the one I was looking at earlier was sitting there on the table with his feet on the chair sitting on the table.
He passed it to the boys who were all sitting on the tables around mine. I felt awkwwwwarddddddd. So I tried to slow my breathing.

They all watched me with watchful gazes. Then the blond one looked down at the paper and smiled. He looked up at me and raised an eyebrow. "Charlie Hansen?" And I just looked to my left to where the wall had racks climbing up the wall. I had a bad habit of writing my name up the top. Then an index finger slipped under my chin and pulled my face back to them. They all looked beautiful in a scary way. Everyone here was. One was the purest blond hair, one had brown hair, two had black hair and one had dirty blond just like the girl.

The white blond one had the paper in his hand as he skimmed over it. He looked at the guys first. "It's blank." It almost sounded like a question. The black headed ones reached for it and skimmed then passed it on. What the hell is going on?
They all turned to look to eachother. I sat with my hands twiddling under the table. I almost reached for my wavy hair until a loud 'THUMP' scared me.

Two arms from the light blond were gripping each side of my desk.
My eyes must have been open for a while because they started to burn from the constant air.
"Are you Lemo or Fraer?" He asked with a stern look and steady but agitated voice.
I just stared at him while the rest were staring and not moving from their seats on the desks.
"I-I-I-" My voice shook and I stuttered uncontrollably.
He rolled his eyes and shook the table.
My hands were white at the knuckles when I had them clutching eachother hand in hand in my denim lap.
My voice automatically took control. "Stop doing that."
And he just looked at me and shook the table again but with more force.
"What I'm saying is... are you angel... or are you demon?" He said it so steady.
Is he absolutely nuts?
All I could manage was, "Are you even all up in here?" I said with a uneven laugh as I tapped my temple with my index.
His face gave me the wave that he was dead serious.

He moved in closer and I could feel his cold breath on my nose and cheeks.
"Being stubborn will get you nowhere." And they left as quick as I could blink. I realized my sheet was in front of me and my pen was in my bag which was weird. I looked at the sheet thinking I could be going crazy since they were nowhere to be seen. Then I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder but as I started to pass Evans desk and I was about to join my paper with everyone elses, there was something on my paper.

What are you?
Lemo?
Fraer?

Neither of them were circled. But there was a scribbled word below them.

I made it out of the empty class room and down the hall walled with lockers and cabinets. Then I heard a laugh that made me feel cold up my arms and neck. I tightened my grip on the strap that slung over my left shoulder. I turned towards the laughs direction. Leaning against the locker was Mr Douche face and another guy who my gaze stuck on. He had rugged chestnut hair that had a rough but sensible look. He was taller than the one I spilt coffee on and he stood with his shoulder pressed to the locker and one foot rested on the other. His skin a light coffee shade and I looked at his eyes and they-

"Did we scare you?" Chuckled the bastard who stood beside the taller guy and I came back to reality. They both wore black.
I simply shook my head and conjured up a steady laugh followed by my voice.
"That's almost like being scared by a coffee stain. Except uglier." My grip got even tighter as my hand shook, I could feel the searing pain of my nails digging into my palm.
His eyes darkened as he glared at me. I should have just nodded and I would have been on my merrily way to go find Dee and Norris. But instead, I'm having a face off with my newest friend. Yay.

He balled his fist as he went to step towards me. My eyes instantly screwed shut and prepared for the hit. Then a 'Clunk' echoed through the hall and I slowly peered out through my heavy lashes at the cause of the sound.

There was my 'friend' pushed up against the locker with the just alittle taller one peering almost into his soul as he had the guys shirt gripped into a ball into a tight fist.

"I wouldn't push it Trent." His voice was low with a almost soft tone to it. He pulled the other guy towards him and then quickly shoved him into the lockers again, harder. He looked angry while the other had his teeth clenched to bare the pain. I stood there looking between them both wondering what was going on.
"She wants to push it... I'll take it into my own hands." The dark blond haired hissed through clenched teeth as the other pulled his face closer and I thought I could see something flicker almost like a flint being scraped. He let go of Trent's shirt.
"See you in the practice room." I was more confused then ever. A GUY was actually determined to HIT me. What the fuck?

Trent walked past me towards a thick black door across the hallway. On his way, he shouldered me and muttered what I think was 'bitch'. I stood there silent as the door closed behind him. I didn't realize I was holding my breath so I let it go. I swear that lately, I've forgotten how to breathe.
I looked up at the guy in front of me as he stood only a few feet away. He sighed and looked at me. My heels giving an mercy to my height as he was still three or so inches taller than me.
"Sorry about that. Trent isn't himself today." He said and I grimaced.
"Totally. Because last night he was hell bent on plans to make my life miserable." And I cocked up my eyebrow daring him to give his best excuse. He just walked forward and put his hand out. "Duke Bething. Just Duke will do and it is a pleasure to meet you." He smiled and his perfectly straight teeth glowed. I couldn't help but smile back and accept his hand. "Charlie Han-" And soon as our hands met, I felt a shock go up my arm and through my body. Quickly finishing off my sentence "Sorry, it's Charlene Hansen. But just call me Charlie." I smiled a tight lip smile. My hand collecting shocks. He nodded and then gathered my hand in his and brought it to his lips and planted his lips on my hands soft skin below my knuckles. I felt heat rise in my cheeks. Then I sneezed. Oh isn't that just delicious! He smiled as he let go of my hand as he stepped aside.

"I hope to catch up with you another time."
And with that, he took his leave through the heavy black door.

Charlie... you suck.

I made it from the incident in the hallway to the other side of the school to the dining hall. It was hot dog day and our table had attracted a third of the population of the student body. Dee and Corey were having a hot dog competition. Corey just demolishing them like a wood chipper to a tree. Dee was actually impressive with her elegance as she ate two at a time. Everyone cheering and I joined in with the chant and clapping.

I laughed as Corey realized that Dee was ahead with four hot dogs, so he smashed down three at a time. I felt a hand on my back from the crowd of people to find myself and the chair being dragged away from the scene and everyone behind me filling my spot. I turned to find that bastard from class standing there with a smug look on his face. I felt like smiling but I didn't bother after how embarrassed he made me feel when he gave me a dirty look in class from the front and how he questioned me with his buddies.

I rose from my seat and raised my eyebrow at him. "What?" I said with my hands on my hips. The chanting grew louder and then a loud cheering. He looked me up and down and then back to my face as he uncrossed his toned arms. "Training at two and six." he said and was already gone for the door. I turned around and saw my bag through everyones legs under the table and thought 'fuck it' as I trailed after him.

I ran out the doors into the grand room and looked around and saw him heading up the large flight of steps. I climbed the stairs picking up speed on my way. I reached the top step and placed a hand onto the side of my ribs to a forming stitch. I speed walked down the large corridor as I looked down each passing hallway. God, this building was, how can I say... SPACIOUS. I finally reached one of the hallways that had a few coming off it. I headed down and then a hand reached out behind me yanking me back and into a room. I looked around to find him with his hand over my mouth and his forearm across my chest holding me to the wall. His face mere inches away from my own. I frowned and couldn't help but think of how beautiful his eyes and face were and then I realized I should be yelling at him.

I pushed him back off of me and he only took a step back no matter how much force I used and he smiled.
Words poured from my mouth like a fire hose.
"What training?" I hissed at him. His smile stayed. "Working on your tactics, just seeing what you've got, Charlie, so we know what we're working with."

I looked past him from the wall and saw a computer table with a laptop and lamp on it and a wooden king sized bed opposite the desk with books everywhere. Bookshelves and shelves were just everywhere. The room what based on brown and white with the carpet a nice clean white. I continued to frown as my attention came back to him and then I pointed my finger and shoved it into his chest as hard as I could. "'We' as in your mates? Oh and what was with the interrogation? And what the fuck is a Nova?" I kept my tone hard and accusing.

He shrugged and his smile dropped. And all he said was "stupid girl."
I huffed and crossed my arms, "I don't even know who you are."
"Conner. It's Conner." He replied.
I had a quick glance around the room again to notice a large window in the roof that shone down the afternoon sky through the blinds. I looked back to him and he pulled his hair from his face.

"See you at two." He said as he glared at me and then looked at the door behind him. I got the hint and went to walk out and I stood in the doorway. I looked back to say something and all I heard was a flat, 'bye'.

I closed the door behind me and stood there. I felt stupid and hurt by his bluntness.

I thought about it on my way back to my room that I'll ignore the gutless bastard.

I had a free period, so I went through my drawers and found a good pair of black long legged skins with the white stripes on the side. I then had a dig further into the drawer and found a good white singlet that has one strap on the back. I grabbed my sports bra, my long white socks and my grey and white joggers. I was set to kick some ass.

I had chucked everything into my small gym bag and decided to throw out my phone. It was doing me no good anyways by just being dead.

As I was about to leave my room, I accidently bumped my laptop mouse to find the computer had still been on since yesterday to find my Facebook page still up and an inbox waiting. I bent over the keyboard of my laptop to view the screen better and I clicked.

Nine

I clicked on the waiting inbox. It was from Ashleigh.

I have news! Get back to me ASAP!

Charlie, AARON FEDDING asked ME to the Spring Fall! Need girl talk! xoxo

OMG. Turn on your phone!

Okay. So you turned your phone off AND haven't replied to any of my emails or messages.

I will come down there and beat the crap out of you!

Just in case you missed my call, Aaron kissed me. Not that it's big news or anything.

Uh-oh. She's going to be pissed. So I sent back the pay phone number outside and the address here. Hopefully she understands. I looked at the 10+ notifcations. Ignoring them, I went into my settings and deactivated my account. It's gone and it's going to stay gone.

I threw on my thick hoodie. I grabbed my gym bag and headed out of my room and in no time I was already down the stairs and outside. It was raining again and I pulled the hoodie over my head. The gym bag over my shoulder and my hair slightly out. My jeans quickly becoming drenched. I headed towards the building I was at earlier today. Running across the lush green grass to get to the building faster and out of the rain.

Finally, arriving at the building I stepped into the large doors and into a dark hallway. Thunder cracked outside and I jumped and turned. The sky dark outside and rain beating down in sheets. I walked backwards abit and then turned down the hall. I followed the hallway to what seemed to be the room that Duke and Trent went into earlier. I looked up at the number above the room... wait, it wasn't a number... it was a letter. Y. Okay. School is definitely different to my last. I pushed my knuckles together and they make a crackling sound one by one. I stood anxiously as I waited. The bell rang and I was already tired of waiting. I pulled the door open and stepped in as the heavy door took no time to slam closed.

The room was lowly lit. I looked around and then jumped at the sound of whipping thunder. I saw someone sitting on a table beside the wall of the large room. I stepped closer but held my gym bag close. One leg tucked under them and the other hanging over the edge. I stepped a few feet closer and he turned to me. The dark blond and the muscular arms and dark grey sweat t-shirt sculpting him. He tilted his chin more up and directed his thumb to one of the white doors down along the wall. "Go get changed in there." And then he started fiddling with a piece of paper in his hand. I went to head to the white door and I realised something as I turned back towards him. "Wasn't Conner supposed to be here?" I asked and all he said was, "Hurry up." Wow, grumpy much? I turned to the bathroom again and walked in. I changed but left my shoes in my bag and chucked gym shorts over the top of my bike shorts.

I headed out of the bathroom to an empty room. I slowly walked forward and then all of a sudden I was bent back as Duke was in a fist hit with his palm facing where my ribs would have been and then his leg came out under my backwards bent body. My legs flipped over above me and I was standing up straight as I flicked back up. How the hell did I do that? And why was he trying to hit me?! I felt an arm snake quickly around my waist.

I felt the electricity run through my stomach and spread through my whole body. I shivered under his breath on my neck. "You're going to have to try harder if you plan on surviving the Demener. They don't have pity on the new or the weak." His tongue lingered on the word 'weak'. I felt an erruption from the very pit of my stomach as I turned and hit him in the chest high with my foot and he flew back into the concrete wall. He crumpled to the ground. It was weird. I didn't feel any shame in me after I did that. Not even regret. I would usually have apologised and felt terrible but I felt proud. I stood there and looked down at my self as I could hear Duke picking himself off the ground and I could actually hear pieces of concrete dropping to the ground. How did I do that? Or atleast I should be asking myself as to how did he get back up off the ground?

I felt a hand slightly hit my shoulder as I still looked down at myself. "You've definitely got it." And all I could think to myself is, 'What've I got?' And 'What is a Demener?'

We worked on some techniques he said that I was lacking. My aim and my reflexes could use more work but his main concern was predicting the next move. There was a hole imprinted in the wall where Duke slammed into it and cracks ran in all directions. Yet, he didn't even show any sign of being hurt. I was going to start pressing some questions but I felt it best to just keep quiet and maybe he'll let some pity truths out. Nothing worked with Conner when you pushed for answers. Other than secrets, all he has for him is his good looks and a head full of knowledge. He's really just a slag who can't be bothered to turn up most of the time.

After at least an hour and a half of being all over the place with Duke helping me with handling weapons such as a bow and daggers, we sat down on one of the padded mats on the ground just under a sky light. I had a water bottle in my hand he gave to me earlier and I squeezed it as it ran down my throat. Gulping it down like it was going out of fashion, I pulled my hair up into a ponytail. Duke ran a hand through his own. And then took a mouthfull from his bottle. I was constantly huffing and trying to catch my breath. Closing my eyes and counting until my heart slowed alittle.

I opened my eyes at Duke peering at me. "How do you do it?" He said with an almost excited tone. I had one leg crossed and one leg straight as I did a stretch so I'd touch my toes. "Do what?" I replied as I breathed deep.

"The way you moved before. You've never done training before and you were already at it like you've been doing it for years." He said with a slight undertone.

"Well, maybe I have. Never thought of that did ya?" I said as I swapped legs and then stretched.

"You know what I mean. You know you haven't done it before, but yet you already had all of that suppressed inside of you. It's just something... I've never seen it before." He whispered the last part almost to himself.

Even thought I had 101 questions, I kept it to a cool low and just slipped a few. "So, this training is supposed to be for this thing called the- Demona?" I said as I bent both legs and bent the knees down like my old dance teacher used to always do after we did a warm up. He lifted himself up off the ground and crossed his arms as the muscles were shadowed all in the right places from the low lighting from the dark sky.

"Demener, you mean. Yes, this training will help you succeed. And I guess you're wondering what it is since you can't even say it right." He said and I quickly shot back, "Hey!" And he just smirked and tapped his chin with his index. "Hmmm." He looked up at the sky light and then his index found me and moving up and down like it was tapping his chin again or a table.

"You. There's something about you and I plan on finding it out." He said and then his gaze came back down to me. His dark blond hair slightly falling into his eyes. "I just don't understand how unbelieveably shocking you are." He said and I didn't even think but I automatically looked down at myself checking if there was something on me and I quickly patted my face checking for anything that is under the word 'shocking'. I suddenly felt self-concious.

"No, no. Don't think it's that. Definitely nothing wrong like that." He said half conforting me but it only made me nervous since he said 'don't think it's that'. Then obviously it's something else. I made a small laugh but then it hit me. When we were in the hallway and he took my hand, it sent shocks all through me and then before when he attacked me without me knowing where he was, his hand shocked my stomach.

I opened my mouth and my eyebrows arched up. He understood and knelt down on one knee in front of me. He placed his hand on my knee which sent it into a spasm. I looked down as I felt a tingling feeling deep in the skin. I looked up to see his cheeks shadowing from his long lashes because of the skylight which filled the whole room. Still looking at my spasming knee, he said, "That shouldn't be happening. You've probably been wondering what the hell that shock was that I gave you when we first touched. Except it didn't only shock you, it shocked me too. It's like you're this live wire to me. I'm supposed to be the only one who can send electric currents through others." Then he looked up at me and his pale brown eyes had me captivated with his next words following. "But never have I ever, recieved a current back."

His hand left my knee and his rose again as I felt the warmth withdraw from my body and the cold freeze down to my bone to make it's home.

"Well, I think that's enough for today." He said as he rubbed his hands together as he tilted his head to his left away from me.

Ten

I slowly lowered backwards until my back was flat on the ground. I rolled my head to see him but he was gone. I sighed and rolled myself up so I could push myself off the ground. He had my bag from the bathroom in his hand. I reached out and retrieved it from his grasp. I reached down for the water bottle and he was already there. I stood up again and he held it out and my hand grabbed it but touched his. I felt a zap but it sent a wave of warmth through me. It felt uninviting but alittle alone. I didn't realise my hand tightened on the bottle and so did his. I looked at the bottle and then at him. He looked pale and it certainly wasn't the skylight's black and white hue.

I realised he was watching the bottle. I didn't realise it was actually boiling. Bubbles exploding in the plastic bottle. The lid popped and we both let go as water sprayed on us. I jumped back and my gym bag fell off my shoulder. My hands raised to my mouth as I quaked with tears threatening to release. He stood there with his hands by his sides in balled fists. His eyes closed tight and his brows creased. His jawline was set and showed he was biting down.

I lowered my hand from my hands from my mouth as I took a step towards the bottle and went down on one knee and touched the leaking water. It was freezing cold. How could that-?

It was boiling only moments before and now it's freezing. I quickly stood and looked at him. I stepped closer to him and placed my fingers under his chin. "Hey." I said with my forehead creased. He slowly opened his eyes but still creased. His hand came up and slowly gripped mine and placed it down. He forced a smirk onto his face. "You should probably get going." I felt a pang of unexpected dissapointment.

I walked out into the hallway with a towel he lent me and I promised him I'd wash it and return it to him as soon as possible. I had my hoodie on again and threw my shorts into my gym bag and the waterbottle. I ran out into the rain to the boarding house again. I made it up the stairs and Dee walked past me and stood infront of me haulting my walk. I looked up and pulled back my hoodie. I laughed as she smiled with her bright red lip stick showing her usually white glowling teeth that were currently covered in what I most certainly knew was chocolate. She flicked her hair from her face and laughed aswell. "I was actually just looking for you! Party this weekend. It's a big social event held once a semester. So, dress nice. Wait, scratch that, that's way too lame. Dress to impress! Oh and it's taco night for dinner so be there or be square!"

I smiled and told her I would. I pulled my hair from behind my ear and Dee's face looked at my hand and grabbed it.

"You okay?" She said with a concerned look.

"I'm fine, why?" I replied with an almost mirrored concerned look.

"You're bleeding." which made me take my hand back and look at it. I looked at my hand and it had red smudges all over it. I realised it was Duke. He really must have been scared since he basically balled his hands into fists so hard that it drew blood.

"Oh, yeah, just a small cut." I lied and she looked at me with eyebrows low and an unsure look.

"Doesn't look small." She stated.

"No, really. It's small. I just bleed heaps." I said with a slight smile. And she slowly nodded.

"If you say so. Just make sure you clean it up and get it looked at, mkay?" She said as she walked around me and into her room a few doors down from me. I stood there for what seemed for ages and headed towards my room. I sat everything on my desk and got out my bottle and sat it on the table. I turned my lamp beside my bed and sat on my bed facing the computer desk and the bottle. I stared at it intently and then at my hand.

Quietly to myself, I said, "I've had a hell of a first day. This place is so conviently full of secrets."

I looked out my window with rain pelting the glass.

"Starting with Dee, Conner and Duke. Actually... Everyone." I breathed and got back off my bed. Grabbing my jacket and throwing on the hood, I grabbed my laundry bag with dirty clothes in it.

I headed out into the rain.

Eleven

I The cold rain sheeting down as I made my way towards the next path and I followed it as it made it's way to the wash sheds. I carried my laundry bag over my shoulder and entered the small shed. I finally got out after 15 minutes or so from what I noticed as I waited for a cycle to stop. It must be washing day everyday just as Dee said. I was suprised the boys washed their clothes regularly unlike my brothers who had their dirty laundry with them each time they came home from school.

-------------------------------------------------

I began my slight snooping every now and then throughout the next few weeks that stretched into a few months. I didn't find out more because the 'classes' I was supposed to take hadn't been going on. I hadn't heard from Duke or Conner. Conner hadn't been around since I tried to confront him but that ended up in the grave like all my other attempts around here.

The weather was typical with the sudden weather changes from the gorgeous sunshine to the small storms and continous clouded days. My parents called every couple of days and even two days in a row. It was good to hear their voices but I couldn't tell them I was homesick. I wanted to be home desperately but I prefer the torment of Trent over the taunts of an entire school. I'd laugh at my fathers nimble attempts to sound like he didn't care I was gone. I may not have wanted to go back but I constantly asked when they'd come and see me even if it was for a day. Same answer was that they will try. I didn't doubt it.

I found myself most nights at movie nights with Dee after I missed the first party of the year. I heard all about how she met one of the most spectacular men who happened to be French and a very, very good kisser. She said she couldn't tell whether her Southern lips were stained of her famous red lipstick or she had swollen lips but I know for a fact it wasn't lipstick. Most of that was all over his face when he dropped her off to my room because she lost her key to her room since she locked it. I completely forgot about my key. I never even thought about how often I leave it unlocked when I'm out at class or on social calls.

I had continuously tried to call Ashleigh over the months and she never answered. It always went to message bank and I realised that she had a scholarship to New Zealand for 16 months. I forgot so much. I thought being away from home would have me remembering all the little things but the months flew and so did my favorite things. I ran every evening just before the sun left it's stand in the sky.

I'm certainly angry at Conner and Duke. They suddenly dissapeared just as I arrived. I didn't even know Conner for a whole day or two and he insulted me. Duke also doing the same and then boom. Both are gone. Over these past months I'd go to the rooms where I trained with Duke that first time and I'd sit under the sky light. I tried to do all of what we'd practiced but I felt nothing. None of the power I felt surging through me when he was here pushing me further and further in those mere hours. The damage in the cement wall that Duke had done was repaired to the state before. I just want someone to just tell me I'm crazy.

And maybe I am.

Twelve

It's been a few days since the break that I spent with my parents on holidays in Los Angeles and it's the first week of Semester Two and I'm already tired of it. I sat in my chair playing with my pen in my fingers during our religion lecture. Chewing on the inside of my cheek because of Trent and his attempts to throw blu tac at the back of my chair. Having two classes with him was horrible and I could possibly make a hole in my cheek within the next week. Yesterday in English he decided to make a poem about me that described how I looked and so on until it ended with how I had fallen over a weed and became one myself. He bowed as a handful of my peers had a small giggle to themselves and the teacher saying that he is a weed which I could only smirk at.

The bell finally went off and I got out of my chair and packed my books into my folder as the class already ushered out with Trent deep in the group. Dee made her way over as she weaved her hips and moved her way through the tables. I felt her hand pull on my blazer and grip my arm which made me look at her. I came face to face with a blue haired girl who's eyes were wide causing me to mirror the same face. "Conners back." She breathed out. I felt a warm wave come over me. I searched her eyes for any humor and there was none.

"When?" I asked almost with an excited but low voice. She simply lowered her eyebrows low over her eyes. "What do you mean by 'when'?" She asked and I simply gave a small 'ha' and breathed in. "I mean 'when' as in when did he come back." I said and she rolled her eyes and laughed. "Oh, how stupid of me! Cassie texted me and said she saw him on her way back to her room for her free and she saw him with Duke and Master Para." She said as she smiled and I couldn't help but smiled aswell. And then the warm feeling left and my face straightened out. I turned and pulled my books with my left arm and pulled them to my hip. Without a word I left the classroom with Dee beside me with her new leather school shoes she's 'trying out' instead of her homely heels. She knew where I was going without having to ask any questions. She found out about it last semester on a just us night in the city which is actually beside the school which I thought was rather awkward. All of our conversation was confidential.

She sheilded her face against the wind as we followed the path and after a few turns, we approached the training building. We pushed the door and as it closed, the wind was gone. I headed straight for the training room I was in last time with Duke and I pulled the heavy wooden door open and made my way in and stopped as I saw Conner standing with a handful of daggers in his hand as he pulled out the last one in the target board and he paused in his place as his eyes came into contact with mine. Dee walked in and stopped as she felt the intensity in the air. She walked over to me and slipped my books free from my arm. I didn't remove my eyes from Conners as Dee said, "I should probably feed that terrible bird of Master Para." She turned and left with the closing of the heavy door as it thud. I felt my heart freeze.

Conner walked closer to me and he dropped his hand full of daggers down by his side as he continued to walk towards me. I stood still and grabbed the sides of my knee length school skirt. I let go and squeezed my nails into my palm. I felt my eyes burn and then the sting came.

"You." I said as I clentched my teeth together and closed my eyes. He was only a few feet away now as he approached me like you would to fragile glass. His free hand out and then he touched the side of my face with his fingertips. I moved a step back. I opened my eyes and the burning went down a bit but the anger sat there in the pit of my stomach and then rose to my throat like fire just waiting. I looked at his face as it presented his dissapointment and anger at himself. I felt the need to push back his hair off his forehead and tell him to not worry about it but I wanted him to feel that guilt.

"I'm sorry." He whispered. His hands by his sides and I stood silently. He added, "The Elders called us and we weren't ready for it." He said. I felt the fire spread all over me. I stepped forward and shoved him with both hands. He took a step back from the force. "The Elders? Ready for what? You tell me nothing Conner! Duke and yourself use all this cryptic bullshit on me and I can't do it anymore!" I yelled as I shoved him again.

"Charlie. I never meant it. We just aren't ready for what's coming. There was never much time to tell you anything!" He raised his voice back. I didn't back down. "You left, you were gone for MONTHS!"I screamed as tears began to fall.

"It was an emergency. And why are you getting so angry over me leaving?" He questioned as he crossed his arms. I felt my ears burn. "I'm angry because of all the changes. I angry over Duke leaving just as I was getting my head around this." I said with my chin up and my tears stopping to slowly dry. I stared at him and then his eyes soften. "Okay, I'll explain it another time. But, I will tell you now that everyone will be split into groups for training for these next few weeks." He said as his head lowered. "You're talking like I know what you're saying. If there was a language called, 'jibberish', you would definitely have it down pat." I hissed with squinted eyes. Adding, "You are the most confusing person I have ever met." And he replied with a cocked eyebrow, "Likewise."

I felt my arms act before I could stop them. They lifted from my sides fast and wrapped around his sides to his back. I felt his spine stiffen and then losen as his own had came around my shoulders. I just placed my forhead on his shoulder and he positioned his chin on my shoulder. We stayed like this for a long time.

I was angry but I guess you could also say that I missed him.

Thirteen.

After a while, I pryed for information but he isn't one to budge and neither would Duke but I could only try. "So, you won't say where you were except we have to pick up the practise and get a move along? That is what you're saying right?" I asked as I dipped my head down. I sat on the table with my legs folded and he sat in the chair, saying nothing. He sat with deep thoughts from what I presume. I looked up and over to the door and then around making sure it actually was only himself and I.

"Please. Be honest. The stories as children...... they're real. Aren't they?" I said as I leaned forward. His eyes flickered and his gaze broke to look at me. Licking his bottom lip, he grimaced. "What do you mean?" He replied as he rolled his thumbs together. I cracked my middle knuckle. "Angels, Demons, Vampires, Werewolves? The lot." I said with a hiss in the back of my throat. I guess I was sort of angry that I was fed lies that happen to be truths. He cocked his head to the side. I leaned forward abit further. "It's just angels and demons, isn't it?" And I sort of gave a hopeful but saddened look at my hands. Then he leaned forward with his elbows planted on his thighs. "They're very muchly real, Charlie." He said lightly. "Good or evil?" I asked as he gave a laugh. "It depends. They're divided." He rolled his foot and ankle in a circle. I coughed. "How are they divided?" I knew I was pressing my luck but I had to try, he owed me this. Conner studied me with his brows low. "How are you so curious all of a sudden?" He didn't crack. Damn it. He shuffled in his seat. The way his stubble came through, I imagined how it'd feel against my fingers. God, why was he so gorgeous? Then he grunted as he watched me. I guess I must have been staring. Oh shit. I forced a coughing fit to cover up and finished with a heave. How could I think that?

"Why do you avoid my questions?" I was getting impatient. He sat back and his adams apple bobbed. "How am I avoiding?" This is exactly what he keeps doing! So I leaned forward. "Just like that. You avoid answering my questions by asking me questions." I could feel myself starting to fume with almost dissapointment. He couldn't even look at me let alone answer my accusation. I stood up and gathered my things. "Feeling alone isn't just about having no friends anymore. And right now, I've never felt so isolated." I headed for the door without looking at him and slammed it behind me.

Fourteen.

Does this place not know what a sun is? Dark grey clouds hung above ME and all around this place. I'm in a bad mood and I've barely even been here long. I can't believe him! How am I avoiding them? Well, um I don't know. Maybe it has something with the question you just asked! There's something they don't want told and now, all I can think about is what that something is. And boy is it bugging me.

I headed back for the dorms. And I felt sick to my stomach about what was being said by Rachel on Facebook. I hadn't heard from my brothers since before I left home. I just felt like everything was completely wrong and I couldn't do anything. "I couldn't help but follow the footprints you apparently stomped into the lawn." I turned to see Dee cleaning her glasses. I cracked my knuckles. "By the looks of it, you probably want to be alone. But, we're going for a coffee or something later. If you wanted to join." I smiled at her with gratitude. "I appreciate it. I'll let you know." She gave me a hint of a smile but didn't show it. It's almost like this girl knows me better than I know myself. "So, there's a sign on your dormroom door. And I know exactly who put it up." I dropped my hands in defeat beside me with wide eyes. Dee slipped her glasses back on. "In all honesty, I was going to do some payback but I couldn't let you miss out." I looked at her and tightened my ponytail. "Well, I guess I might aswell take my mood out on something." We started heading for the dorms but I found myself slowing. "Is it-" Dee finished my sentence for me. "Still up? Nah. I took that shit down more so for the culprit. It's the worst attempt at embarrassing somebody. It barely even stuck to the door." I found myself smiling. "Thank you." She wrapped an arm around my shoulder and squeezed. "You can thank me by helping me get this fucker back." We bumped knuckles and headed toward our rooms.

We spent the afternoon at the small discount chemist piling bottles of lube and boxes of condoms into our basket. Then continued to clear the shelf of laxatives. I placed my hand on her forearm. "Hey, we don't want to kill him." My voice low at her. Dee just cocked her hip and glared at me over her glasses. "Believe me, we couldn't even if we wanted to." We moved up to the register and piled everything onto the counter. The girl serving us chewed on her gum and glanced at our selection. She looked at us with a smile. "Looks like someone's in for one hell of a night." She said as she picked up the laxative packet and scanned it. Dee smiled and glanced between both of us. "Someone who's had it coming for quite some time." We all laughed and had a conversation on the newest buildings in town. "I heard it was some new lawyer who's some big shot. Or atleast was." We nodded in unison. "That'll be $37.80. Cash or card?" I reached in my wallet for my card but Dee snatched my wallet from my hands. "This is my buy, honey." I stepped forward reaching for my wallet. "This is my revenge!" She shook her head. "This sort of stuff is in the unspoken bible of friends. It's my right to assist you in your endevours of success, failures and revenge plots. Including the paying of items to be victorious in your revenge." I stood back for a second. "Friends?" She handed over two $20 notes and 80 cents. "Did you just think I'm just someone who talks to you to fill in time and is on a righteous journey to protect you and talk about stupid stuff?" I glanced around and rolled my eyes. "Duh. I thought you were exactly that." She punched me in the shoulder. "Dude, you suck." We laughed as she recieved the receipt and change. The girl behind the counter handed Dee the bags. "Have a nice day." I turned for the door but Dee stopped me. "He's coming up behind you." I went to ask her who but she was quick out the door with a, "Meet you at the car."
"Charlie." I turned to see a rather good looking Duke. "Hey." He raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you meant to be training?" I was about to own up but it dawned on me that we're in a damn Chemist. "I'm really not feeling too well. Just picking up some medication." By the looks of it, he didn't buy it. "I'm not going to put you in to the authorities. Or at least Conner." I rolled my eyes and glanced at the video camera screen. "Because the Almighty Conner is at the top of my scary list and all." I glimpsed a slight smile tug at his lips. "I hope you aren't guiding our A+ student into the gloomy pits of trouble." He nodded at the door Dee exited out of. I rubbed my chin with a frown in question. "Wait, you're telling me she wasn't born like this? Is there another Dee I don't know about?" He shook his head at me. On one of the security cameras, it showed Dee waiting anxiously outside. "Honestly, if you didn't use sarcasm, I'd know you are very unwell." I found myself glancing at his lips more in the past minute than my whole stay at Gilroy. I pulled my gaze from his lips and tried to focus on his eyes. Maybe I was unwell.
I physically had to shake my head. I played it like something was in my hair. My hair came loose I quickly caught my hair band. I found myself glance at the doors and Dee was smirking, then she dissapeared out of view. Damn, I'll hear about this.
"So, what exactly are you doing here?" I turned the subject onto him, maybe shaking off my nerves. He looked a little lost for words for a moment as he glanced at the cashier girl, who was blantly staring at him. She quickly put her head down and made herself look busy. He licked his lip and looked back to me. Me too girl, me too. I couldn't blame the girl. He was a whole lot of heartbreak and trouble stuffed into that figure fitting black coat. It made his jaw line look especially chiseled with mature light stubble. I spotted a scar that seemed to lead from his left ear down and  toward his right collar bone. It reminded me of a story I'd read at home as a child. He cleared his throat and adjusted the collar on his heavy coat. I collected myself quickly. "I came down to grab some panadol. The dorm cabinet is almost out." His voice was deep with the familiar tone of honey whiskey. I found myself glancing at his lips again. I suddenly had the urgency to find out if his mouth tastes the same. What is wrong with you?
"Mr Kinley." I quickly glanced up to where the voice originated. I found a Pharmacist striding over and quickly frown. Duke watched him and gave him a forced smile. The Pharmacist placed his hand out and Duke held it firm. "Mr Brothers, it has been a while. I'm assuming Connor is away." Duke nodded and they released their grip. "He couldn't come in today." They kept eye contact and I could tell there was a underlying conversation I had no invitation to. The man had turned to me and gave me a colgate smile as he placed his hand out. I slipped mine into his and his smile faultered for a moment. Long enough for me to notice. His grip lessened and he shakely placed them into his white coat. "Ah, well. Shall we?" He gestured to the office behind the counter. "Oh, that is, if you're done here?" I put my hands up with a smile. "All good." Duke raised a brow to me in question. "I'll see you on Monday." He waited as I backed towards the sliding doors and turned. I subtly glanced up at the surveilance screen to see him watch me leave before he was ushered behind the counter.

Fifteen.

We had spent the last of our day decorating Ethan's dorm door. And, we'd found our way around the lock on his door. At first I protested for us to not enter. Dee almost saw reason until two girls walked past and eyed me up and down. Just in earshot, I could hear them whisper about me 'assuming' I deserved Ethan's attention. In hinde sight, I should have just walked away to cease the spread of rumours. But, I concluded that if Ethan had it in for me for the last of my schooling life, I should make it worthwhile. I picked up the box of condoms and toilet paper. "Let's do this." And Dee broke into a smile. "There she is!" I pushed the door open and a wave of cologne hit me. The scent was strong enough to taste. I felt the urge to gag as I walked to the centre of the room. Dee wasn't far behind me as she dropped the box behind me. "I suspected he never showered but this? This is a whole different shower." She held her tops collar over her mouth and nose. The room was still dark so I reached out to find the window. I touched something rough and slightly tattered. "I think it's here somewhere." I could here Dee shuffle somewhere nearby me. "What are you looking for?" Then I heard the sound of a doona being impacted. "I'm looking for the curtain to shine some light on the situation. Anyways, sounds like you found the bed of the devil." I could hear her chuckle. Finally, I found the draw string for the curtain and tugged it. Light flooded into the room and blinded us both. Once our visions came to, we could not believe our eyes. Dee slipped off of the bed. "What. The. Actual. Fuck."

My mum who got me into reading and laughed at my stories and acting. To mates who cheered me on and catapulted ideas and food at me over all meals. And to my brothers who have been there every step of the way. And my dog for leaving her malted hair and muddy paw prints all through my bed.
